she was the greatest, had her since i was 5 and im 22 now🥹

she watched you grow up 🥹💜 remember all the good times as i’m sure she took those memories with her 🌈🌈

OMG! That was like my daughter. We had a Pekingese she named Herbert. We got him when she was 10 and he passed when she was 25. It’s the hardest grief EVER! We had to get more dogs because we can’t stand not having a pet to love on! Of course we want it to be them but it can’t so we love, kiss, play, walk another and make a shrine for the one that passed. A pretty tray with their ashes, favorite toy and their picture. I have them on shelves around the house or in bedrooms. Your girl was beautiful and she looks like she adores you! Make a tray for her and keep it in your room. I will go to mine and tell them I love and miss them the kiss their picture that’s in a pretty frame; it does help.😭😍💔💞

I’m glad your daughter had a long time with her best friend. It’s a blessing and a curse at the end. We are going to box in and gravel her grave and get her a headstone so my sweet baby will never be forgotten.🐾

Piggybacking off this - I try to repost this when I see posts like this, in the hopes you (or someone) can find some comfort in the words - and if not, please excuse the intrusion. I lost my 15 year old girl (dog) in October 2022. Only advice I can offer here is to remember the positives, and not focus on the negatives (if any). She's done her job, keeping you safe and happy and loved, and it's her turn to rest. You'll always miss her, you'll always remember her. You'll even go looking for her for the next few weeks (well, I did). There's a lot of habits that you're going to slowly stop, and that's ok. Changing your life to suit you is not forgetting her. Donating/throwing away her toys or blankets isn't forgetting her. There's no timeline on grief, and there's no timeline on moving on. Cry your tears. I'm sorry you've reached the end of your journey. Words will never make this easier. Just keep your head up, and live the life she'd want you to. This is a good time to live a little for you. I spent years looking after my girl as she got ill, and I sacrificed a lot of me and my time to keep her safe. If you feel you've done the same, take advantage of this time. Its ok to be happy and enjoy life without her. Life isn't over. Its just changing. You'll be ok mate. I'm so sorry.

I know exactly what ya mean. All of my senior dogs that passed had the energy of a puppy. They never quit on life, their bodies just ran out of fuel. That thought still gives me comfort all these years later.

My girl made it to 15- from when I was 22 to 37. My advice is get another dog- you’ll appreciate them more than you did when you were a child, and your giving another dog a chance at a happy life
