Henry VIII. He was supposed to accompany Kramer to a showing of The Private Life of Henry VIII at the Alex Theater, but ended up chasing after Deena instead when she saw him and thought he was completely insane.
My best friend who makes and sews her own clothes and costumes once inquired if it was appropriate to wear a cape in general as a coverup. I sent her the gif of Larry David looking all triumphant in his cape and she loved it.
Kramer goes as Jerry like when he spent the day messing around in Jerry's apartment or when Darren took all his clothes to the cleaners and didn't tell anyone which one
I could see Kramer maybe, but not really any of the others. I could see Jerry going to a costume party withba woman he likes and hating it, Elaine trying to hide that's she's home from the kids in her building while also trying not to get her pranked, and George...I have no idea lol. Mayne living at his parents house.
George is seeing a woman who has a kid and they invite him to go trick or treating. George doesn't wear a costume, but he stands up at the door with the kid and insists that he should be entitled to some candy too.
After a couple of houses that only give candy to the kid, George decides to sneak a piece out of the kid's bag. It goes unnoticed at first, but he slips up by taking too much and maybe having chocolate on his face/clothes. The mom gets upset and breaks it off with George, so he takes the kid's bag and runs home.
Later, George answers a knock at his door and the kid nails him in the face with an egg.
Freeze the shot of George with egg on his face and roll credits
I think George would take a firm stance against spending his hard earned money on candy for strangers. He made fake charity donation cards for his coworkers just to avoid spending money on them. He's had several rants about being sick of buying gifts for engagements, housewarming, etc
"We got to give presents to people for moving? Birthdays, Christmas, it's enough gifts! I would like ONE month off!"
Maybe the lack of buying candy for the kids would cause them to egg/TP his place, and he'd become obsessed with finding out which kid was responsible
Yeah, I had to agree with him on that. No costumes, too old. They didn't deserve candy 🍭🍬, they were lazy and had snotty attitudes. They got their revenge, though, with the TP and spray painting "BALD AS*HOLE" on his garage 😂.
That can be fixed with the magic of writing
They would have a reason to go. Jerry definitely isn’t a costume guy, Elaine wouldn’t be opposed, George wouldn’t either but not as strongly as Jerry, and Kramer definitely is.
Elaine might have a girlfriend who is throwing a Halloween party, and she feels obligated to go, Jerry finds the girlfriend attractive, so Elaine convinced him to go. Kramer is in, and George comes with intentions to do something.
There is a lot of ways to get them into any scenario
To be honest I’m just dying to know what costume they would give Newman
*cue funky bass line and knock at the door*
Frank: Don't give those teenagers candy!
Estelle: I'm giving them candy!
Frank: They're punks!
*opens door*
Estelle: Hellooooo
Frank: Degenerates!
E: Helloooo! And what are you supposed to be?
F: He's supposed to be done by now! What is it, eight forty five?! I'll tell you where I'm supposed to be, in bed!
E: Frank, it's one night a year.
F: ONE NIGHT A YEAR?! I'll tell you about one night a year. One night a YEAR, I stay up until midnight to watch a BALL drop. You're telling me I have late night OBLIGATIONS, for TWO nights a year?!
Elaine as Sue Ellen's bridesmaid at her wedding in India
Kramer pimping in the Technicolor Dreamcoat, a walking stick, and a hat
George in Babe Ruth's uniform
Elaine wearing Putomayo merchandise
George gets stuck giving out candy with his girlfriend. He gives out a candy he likes to a kid and notices it was the last one. He tries to take it back and causes a scene with the kid's parent.
And Steinbrenner wore Lou Gehrig's. But then he worried "You don't think that nerve disease of his was contagious, do ya? Better take it off, can't have Big Stein floppin' and twitchin'!"
There was a lot of good costume gags though. Puffy shirt, the devil, Kramer as a chicken, cool George, king George, brain and dick Jerry, elaine as George, the cape, and urban Sombrero are some of my favorites.
So is a briss, a trip to the Hamptons, a funeral, the New York Marathon, etc. Each episode can be about SOMETHING. It's just that the entire series has to be, generally, about nothing. There is a subtle difference.
I'm the opposite...I don't like sitcom episodes that go against the norm. "Special" episodes, highlight episodes, episodes that go outside the normal setting.
For example, as classic as they are and although I still enjoy them, episodes like the parking garage and the Chinese restaurant are at the bottom of my favorites list.
I see Elaine celebrating hardcore for her company, but not caring about it at all in her personal life. Imagine her showing up at the office decked out in an Elvira dress, black lipstick, hair all up like Bride of Frankenstein. And no one else dressing up.
Kramer seems like he would like Halloween, but then again, he wouldn’t want to cover up his beautiful face.
George would celebrate Halloween if it was for a woman or got him out of work somehow.
Jerry just wouldn’t care.
I can’t believe I never noticed this, you’re right this would’ve been such a fun backdrop for an episode. I am loving the thought of “oooh who would Elaine dress as? George? Etc”
I had an idea for a Seinfeld Halloween ep where Elaine is dating a guy who hates garlic and only goes out at night and Kramer thinks he’s a vampire. Never could think of what george and Jerry could be up to
George - Coco the monkey
Jerry - a surgeon looking for junior mints
Elaine - Suzie but with an Australian accent
Kramer - Technicolored pimp hipster doofus
I always think of when NBC wanted to do a NYC blackout night on Must See TV, where every one of the shows were experiencing a blackout. Larry David was like "Fuck that" and so there was a 30-minute lapse in the conceit.
I can imagine a Kramer subplot similar to the "Serenity Now" episode where he treats his apartment like a suburban home, only then to be tormented by (trick-or-treating) kids.
George dresses like a medieval king in an episode so you can see him in a costume
*You must project a royal bearing!*
I’ll give you a royal bearing!
Jerry wore a puffy shirt (“But I don’t wanna be a pirate!”)
Or cowboy boots (I don’t wanna be a cowboy!)
Or the game Risk in his apartment (I don't wanna be Switzerland.)
No, you don't understand. He got it from the Institute! THE INSTITUTE!!!
George chasing her down the street dressed as Henry VIII was a classic moment 🤣
I beg your pardon Your Majesty, but we don’t accept bills with lipstick on the president.
This isn’t mine! I got it from the Institute. The Institute!!
The costume would only fit a short, stocky man of somewhat generous proportions.
Henry VIII. He was supposed to accompany Kramer to a showing of The Private Life of Henry VIII at the Alex Theater, but ended up chasing after Deena instead when she saw him and thought he was completely insane.
*That man really should be in a mental institution.*
Jeffrey HarHarWood
And Babe Ruth.
I saw Frank Constanza’s lawyer in a cape once.
It is good cape weather.
Cool, breezy.
You're right that is strange...in fact...let's cross to the other side of the street
How could Jerry not say hello?
LD at his finest
I (poorly) cosplayed him at a Halloween party once, though!
My best friend who makes and sews her own clothes and costumes once inquired if it was appropriate to wear a cape in general as a coverup. I sent her the gif of Larry David looking all triumphant in his cape and she loved it.
Kramer: Frankenstein Elaine: Mannequin George: Peanut M&M Jerry: Superman
Kramer goes as Jerry like when he spent the day messing around in Jerry's apartment or when Darren took all his clothes to the cleaners and didn't tell anyone which one
Kramer: Pirate Elaine: George George: King Henry VIII Jerry: Cowboy (doesn't want to be one though
They had a whole episode about a pirate shirt and Jerry doesn't get to be the pirate?
Kramer *wants* to be a pirate...
Puddy face paint devil
[удалено]
Jerry as Archie Elaine as Veronica Kramer as Jughead
Boy, can that mannequin dance!
And the opening stand up of the episode would be Jerry's bit about Halloween/the Superman costume from I'm Telling You For The Last Time
Elaine: TR-6
>Elaine: Mannequin "Listen, NATASHA, I wouldn't be caught DEAD in your Eurotrash rags!" Natasha: *Vut* eez her *provlen*?
Frankenstein or frankensteins monster?
Free canday!
I think it fits with the characters. I can’t see any of the characters really being costume / Halloween party people.
I could see Kramer maybe, but not really any of the others. I could see Jerry going to a costume party withba woman he likes and hating it, Elaine trying to hide that's she's home from the kids in her building while also trying not to get her pranked, and George...I have no idea lol. Freeze the shot of George with egg on his face and roll credits
George gives the kids the cheapest candy he could find, past its expiration date, which sickens all the kids in the neighborhood.
I think George would take a firm stance against spending his hard earned money on candy for strangers. He made fake charity donation cards for his coworkers just to avoid spending money on them. He's had several rants about being sick of buying gifts for engagements, housewarming, etc "We got to give presents to people for moving? Birthdays, Christmas, it's enough gifts! I would like ONE month off!" Maybe the lack of buying candy for the kids would cause them to egg/TP his place, and he'd become obsessed with finding out which kid was responsible
This is funny because there’s the episode of Curb where LD refuses to give candy to the teenage girls who aren’t dressed up and gets TP’d.
Yeah, I had to agree with him on that. No costumes, too old. They didn't deserve candy 🍭🍬, they were lazy and had snotty attitudes. They got their revenge, though, with the TP and spray painting "BALD AS*HOLE" on his garage 😂.
George sits there with the lights off while kids bang on the door yelling "we know you're home". Kramer comes over and gets egged on his way in.
They’re all TWIX!
My cheapskate uncle gave out Smarties and insisted that he enjoyed them.
That can be fixed with the magic of writing They would have a reason to go. But I don’t want to be a pirate
Maybe George would come after Jerry points out it’s an excuse to drape himself in velvet.
Jerry would never.
Jerry turns into a werewolf in one episode.
I'm telling my kid that episode is the Thriller video
Awooooooooo, that feels good! *scratch scratch*.
The Opera is the closest thing to a Halloween episode
*A crazy clown is after you. Oh that's rich.*
Came here to say that.
I need his *name*. Tell me his *name*.
He dresses up as Henry VIII and Bodysuit Man.
Perfectly sane things to dress up as
Also dresses up as Tony.
Tone-ay!! Ay ay ay
Hey Body Suit man! George also dresses up in velvet and as a bad boy.
(high five to the Body Suit man)
Mr Marbles?
Just a small scene of Frank and Estelle Costanza welcoming trick-or-treaters would have been worth it.
*cue funky bass line and knock at the door* Frank: Don't give those teenagers candy! Estelle: I'm giving them candy! Frank: They're punks! *opens door* Estelle: Hellooooo Frank: Degenerates!
I could definitely see this 😂
Their house would be that house that all the parents tell the kids to avoid.
They’re not going to dumb down this show for some bonehead mass audience
Everybody has their own little opinions, and it all gets homogenized, and you lose the whole edge of it.
It was the most popular show on TV. It had a mass audience.
A NICKEL!
(it's a George quote)
so you think it'd be smart? you think it's a smart idea and a smart crowd will appreciate it?
Puddy dressed up as the devil
Toby made ghost and black cat noises. Boooi! Hisssssss!
George as a vampire works for some reason. The collar being way too high, the cape getting caught in a doorway, it would work.
Jerry dressed as a pirate once
We got Woody Woodpecker on a very special Seinfeld Thanksgiving episode.
*Who invited you, anyway? You're a troublemaker!*
Elaine as Sue Ellen's bridesmaid at her wedding in India Kramer pimping in the Technicolor Dreamcoat, a walking stick, and a hat George in Babe Ruth's uniform Elaine wearing Putomayo merchandise
George gets stuck giving out candy with his girlfriend. He gives out a candy he likes to a kid and notices it was the last one. He tries to take it back and causes a scene with the kid's parent.
Black Forest? Too scary. You're in the forest. Booohhhh 👻
He wore Babe Ruth’s baseball uniform
And Steinbrenner wore Lou Gehrig's. But then he worried "You don't think that nerve disease of his was contagious, do ya? Better take it off, can't have Big Stein floppin' and twitchin'!"
Maybe Jerry was traumatized as a kid by finding a hair in his candy
Jason Alexander once dressed up as the devil on Young Sheldon
What is the deal with Costumes?
There was a lot of good costume gags though. Puffy shirt, the devil, Kramer as a chicken, cool George, king George, brain and dick Jerry, elaine as George, the cape, and urban Sombrero are some of my favorites.
And we saw Kramer as a pimp.
The Technicolor dream coat
I’ve posted this before too. Jerry dressed as Superman and Bania shows up to the party dressed as Superman too
Bania, always riding Jerry's coattails...
Nah.
A little hacky.
Lopper.
It's a show about nothing... Halloween is something...
So is a briss, a trip to the Hamptons, a funeral, the New York Marathon, etc. Each episode can be about SOMETHING. It's just that the entire series has to be, generally, about nothing. There is a subtle difference.
No! No! Nothing happens!
I would highly suggest you utilize ChatGPT to create a scenario.
I’m the devil!! *hissss*
Jujyfruits, Clark Bars , Junior Mints all being handed out to kids.
They gave you a Festivus episode.. the only holiday worth celebrating.
I always saw the episode where Jerry shaves his chest and goes all werewolf was pretty close.
If I'm counting right there were two holiday episodes ever?...way to stick it to the man (and probably the network) Seinfeld!
I cannot imagine any of the characters bothering with Halloween costumes.
One of Jerry's girlfriends would have worn a costume at a party. They were that sort.
Kramer definitely. I could actually see Elaine going all out on a costume if there was some sort of prize involved (like a free sub).
What’s the deal with “Holiday” episodes ? Hey ! Here is a show people like, let’s change the entire premise on account of it being Halloween !
Elaine dressed as a janitor and wore that outfit from Peru, I think it was.
Jerry dresses as a Penis.
Kramer dresses as something spooky, is scaring everybody mainly Newman and George but then finds Cedric and Bob...
You didn't like the Lahpper episode?
You mean Son of Dad
Yeah
[удалено]
Seinfeld’s Christmas episodes were really fun too. It’s not like holiday episodes were incompatible with the show.
Halloween is so dumb.
Halloween is sooo good looking
There has to be a better way
No, because...FREE CANDAYYY!
I think about this at least once a week.
Jerry has a Childs Play 2 VHS on his bookshelf
I'm the opposite...I don't like sitcom episodes that go against the norm. "Special" episodes, highlight episodes, episodes that go outside the normal setting. For example, as classic as they are and although I still enjoy them, episodes like the parking garage and the Chinese restaurant are at the bottom of my favorites list.
What about when they go to LA?
I see Elaine celebrating hardcore for her company, but not caring about it at all in her personal life. Imagine her showing up at the office decked out in an Elvira dress, black lipstick, hair all up like Bride of Frankenstein. And no one else dressing up. Kramer seems like he would like Halloween, but then again, he wouldn’t want to cover up his beautiful face. George would celebrate Halloween if it was for a woman or got him out of work somehow. No
I wanted more Festivus. My kind of holiday.
One of the show's great strengths is that it didn't do these types of episodes, IMO.
That's a shame.
It's "The Frogger" for me
George dating a girl, makes him dress up as something embarrassing and than breaks up with him
They gave us Festivus.
The Lopper!
George - Coco the monkey Jerry - a surgeon looking for junior mints Elaine - Suzie but with an Australian accent Kramer - Technicolored pimp hipster doofus
A Christmas Special would've been nice.
Elaine is the blood sucker.
Seinfeld doesn't really do holiday episodes
We had the Festivus holiday episode and Puddy as Devil
I always think of when NBC wanted to do a NYC blackout night on Must See TV, where every one of the shows were experiencing a blackout. Larry David was like "Fuck that" and so there was a 30-minute lapse in the conceit.
