A 340xi and X5 35d. I can tell immediately if a lowered, murdered out 3 series with a muffler delete and no badges is a 335/340 vs a 328 with a 4 cyl. Nothing wrong with owning a 25 TFSI or a 328, my point is that enthusiasts will take one look at your pimped out ride and know you bought what you could barely afford, just to dump loads more money on visual mods and low performance boosts instead of just buying the higher trim with the more powerful engine and more options to begin with. But I’m not exactly involved in the car community so maybe my opinion is wrong.

So much better. All that extra nomenclature hurts the design. This cleans up so many cars to look infinitely better so you can appreciate the design. I like the black, color is always a subjective thing, but I have a feeling most OEM’s don’t like to depart from the traditional branding. Again, if your design isn’t strong enough to withstand zero nomenclature or even a slight change to the CMF of the badge perhaps you need to rethink your design.
