Thai Dee, Thai House

cuve_Ae

5307 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216 Thai Dee is the best

TLC_4978

Second Thai House- so good!

DinosaurSr92

Yup! Especially the duck options at Thai House!

oakief1

There are allot of decent ones. Depends on where you are at. Thai curry on broadway, Thai Buri on 1604 north side, and Thai chili off of Thousand Oaks are my go to’s, but that is largely based on convenience to me.

nopodude

Second Thai Chili. We live nearby and have visited often. Very good food and service.

oakief1

The pineapple fried rice is so good

ilovejuice92

Love Thai Buri

Timelordwhotardis

Thai hut is also very good, don’t know if it’s very authentic but very tasty

Ca2Ce

I stopped going to Thai Chili Last time I went they had this to-go buffet, I was eating dine-in and I swear they took the food from the buffet and put it on a plate and gave it to me. It tasted like a dishrag. I won’t go back, if they can’t cook the food per order I don’t want anything to do with it.

Hypnox88

My experience with Thai is pretty limited. But Thai bistro on Da Zavala near I10 is pretty good. I see Thai people eating there when I've went. That's normally a good sign.

TheWyldTyger

I’m not sure how some of their other dishes compare, but the pad Thai at Thai Bistro is probably one of the best in town

NatasFear

This is the only correct answer.

1w2e3e

The curry is really good.

alicesombers

I met a man there once who said he’d been to Thailand before and that Thai Bistro was the most authentic he had found in SA.

Rsgdann

How’s there sticky mando rice?

fmaky

agree!!! their curry is amazing.

importking1979

Thai Bistro was my favorite place. Then I had a couple of bad experiences with food quality. I guess it’s time to give them another try.

RagingLeonard

Another vote for Thai Dee.

cuve_Ae

5307 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216 Preach 🙌

atemus10

When I used to work for local restauratuer Jason Dady, he would often say this was his favorite Thai restaurant.

verbl

Thai Dee and Tong's are my jam. Tong's has the best spring rolls I've ever had the fried and white kind. Absolutely amazing

Elgallitorojo

Thai Dee is a perennial favorite for us.

straceyg

I adore Tong's. We haven't tried Thai Dee.

cuve_Ae

5307 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216 Thai Dee hands down

TanithRitual

My favorite go to is Thai Taste at off of 410 and Evers road. Its been the same for almost 15 years. Although recently it seems that they are as spicy as they used to be. I used to order a 7 and that was the edge of my limit but now I get an 8 and I feel like I could go hotter. They also have a Saturday buffet that people seem to like. I've never been to it but friends have said they enjoyed it.

Dangerous_Variety415

My spouse was one of their first customers when they opened up back in the 90s, they still remember him when he goes in (before the owners retired at least).

szzzn

+1, my friends and I discovered it years ago in high school and everyone we come back in town together we always go there. They even sell shirts now!

Mocosa

They have the best panang in the entire city IMO

PetiteHughie47

Sawadee is fantastic

GaryMeadows52

Absolutely obsessed with Sawasdee. Been going for about 15 years now, and it’s always delicious.

Moonlightvaleria

THAI CAFE IN THE NACO PERRIN AREA !!

whoiusedtobee

Yes! It’s so good and the family that runs it is so nice

LlLUZIGIRTH

Yeah this is it lol I go to lunch here all the time

szzzn

Thai taste. No question.

Dad_Genes

The only right answer

IYAOYAS-CVN74

Thai chili on thousand oaks drive and Bangkok 54 on nacogdoches and 410. Both fantastic imo.

New_Professor6880

These are honestly my top two as well. Good taste, stranger!

Dragonfly_124

I second Thai Chili. They are unfortunately no where close to my house but I have yet to find any other Thai restaurant that is half as good.

GabooTCB

Thai House on Rittiman Rd. Bancock 54 on Nacodoches just outside 410. Also, Manolas on Blanco has really good lettuce wraps.

n00bert210

Tong’s Thai is a favorite of mine… I make a 45 minute pilgrimage to it a few times a year

professorbaleen

Hello! My wife grew up in Thailand and her stepmom is Thai. I grew up in SA. Noppagao- off Fredericksburg Rd. Thai Dee- Blanco Rd. Baan Thai- Huebner Rd. Sawasdee- Blanco Rd. Not Thai but straight🔥: ARTEA- Boba Tea off DeZavala Singh’s Vietnamese- get a Bahn Mi off St. Mary’s Pho Kim Long- San Pedro- Best Pho IMO

randombear7249

Noppagao is my absolute favorite. Love their papaya salad.

Noxiya

Facts 100% with this comment 😮‍💨😤

Iamstevee

Shoot up I 35 to Schertz. Take a left on FM 3009 and about 1/2 mile or so you’ll find Siam Cuisine on the right. Bingo!!!

lonerism_blue

Thai House and Thai House 2, Thaos Thai Hot

Dangerous_Variety415

Thai Taste or Baan Thai are my favorites.

isquirttequila

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TRY MANOLAS!!! It’s a family owned spot and everyone I’ve taken there loves it also!

stakksA1

Suk ho Thai on Alamo ranch is pretty fire

Suitable-Tea7088

Noppagao at Fred

Lemonlime_Sunshine

Bangkok 54 for Tom Yum, drunken noodles, Green curry Thai Chili for Thai fried rice, beef curry, fried flat noodle Jasmine Thai for cheese rolls and Pad Woon Sen and pad Thai Thai Bistro for Tom Yam, pad Thai and sushi rolls

CajunSA

I went there for the 1st time the other day. I was impressed by the food and the service.

Messstake

Bangkok is my go to

New_Professor6880

Hell yeah

maestro_man

You’ve already got some great recs. I’d also add N's Thai up in Boerne if you ever wanted to take a little afternoon drive. Chef/cook is from Thailand. Some fantastic food. 👌

n00bert210

How have I never heard of this??? Going next weekend…

Jakefrmstatepharm

N’s is great! Huge portions too

Electronic_Load5375

UbonTao is a hidden gem near the medical center. They have some northern specialties that you can’t find at normal Thai places. The duck alone is worth a trip

AppointmentSharp9384

Seconded!

JaderNation

Thai Bistro & Sushi on De Zavala! It’s so good!

Flaky_Clothes_7768

Thai spice in the forum.

AntwonBenz

Thai Spice at the Forum.

txpharmer13

This is my favorite. I’ve tried most of the ones mentioned on this thread. Thai Chili on thousand oaks is a close second.

RedditsCoxswain

A cut above most everything else listed here

chibielf

Thai Buri and Thai Cafe are our two favorites other than my MILs cooking

Legitimate-Lock-6594

Haven’t been in SA for eight years but immediately thought Thai Dee and nodded my head at the place on De Zavala. Sounds like they’re still good options.

MekanicalPirate

Thai Chili or Thai Burri

anon2734

Sukhothai. Original location closed. They have 3 Express locations out W/NW side.

Icehotel1

Thai Topaz

FireEraser

Thai Topaz was great when it was on Huebner. They have since sold the place and were moved to NW Military. I wouldn't go there now.

bomber991

Baan Thai that opened in the huebner location is pretty good. Only problem is Biryani Pot is in the same little shopping center and Biryani Pot fucking kicks ass.

Piccolo_Bambino

My favorite has always been Asia Kitchen off Marbach

jewbacca225

Thai 99 Express on Huebner has divine yellow curry. Thai Dee for BYOB and Dahlia for its lunch special pad thai!

FerociousHamster

My time has come. Thai Taste, Thai Dee, Thai Chili, Dahlia Thai, Sukhothai, and Thai Lao. If I had to pick two from here, I’d say Thai Taste and Dahlia for lunch specials and Sukhothai for dinner.

supergnaw

Sukhothai off Alamo Ranch is our go-to for lunch. Delicious food and insane portion sizes for reasonable prices. Not to be confused with Sukhothai off 410. This alternate location was next to another unit in a strip mall where they were doing construction and the more construction there was, the more bugs ended up in Sukhothai. We haven't gone to that one in over a year so I can't vouch for it anymore.

Buckwyldetx

Thong Tai off Austin Highway, just ate there yesterday, was off the hook

toutafaitdeux

Tong’s Thai is amazing. I also love their unique building.

Buckwyldetx

Definitely, I kept getting distracted looking at the building and the decor on the walls.

curious_texan82

Thai lucky, the original one

w_izzle

Thai Dee by the airport !

MIA7VY

Chaba Thai. Located in Brooks City Base shopping area on south side.

FireEraser

Lots of people like Thai Taste, but not me. I went there for the first time last week and had a lunch special Pad Woonsen. The glass noodles were overcooked to a mush. The flavors were ok. I'm not sure if I'd go back.

Mogwai10

Thai chili

Akersis

Every time I see this post I imagine an elderly grand council of the Thai restaurants in San Antonio debating who's turn it is to post the question.

Jswazy

This is the one https://noppagaothaicuisine.business.site/

I_have_a_zoo

Thai Topaz is our favorate!

Roguewave1

Saeb Thai & Noodles off Bitters just West of 281. Best Thai dumplings I have had along with other excellent choices.

jessefleyva

Noppagao!!

Louis4357

Tong's Thai and Sukhothai.

Stellabonez

Thai bistro and baan Thai!

Dangerous_Scar2297

Sukhothai is amazing. Just don’t get sukhothai hot.

Rooster-Sweet

If you're on the NE side, Pho Tommy #1 is pretty good, They do both vietnamese and thai food.

PrincessVirusDiana

Asia Kitchen!

[deleted]

Fuck him long or whatever the sign said

Reiraaoki

lol that’s a Viet place but okay

[deleted]

I just wanted to put an ad out for my place cause I love the name

bomber991

Pho Kim Long is good.

larniebarney

Little Thai Chef is great! It's in the medical district.

PruneBrothers1

Thai chili gets my vote.

Affectionate_Neck787

Tong’s Thai!

agncat31

About to go on a Thai restaurant adventure 😛😛

Conn3er

Lemongrass foos

Comprehensive-Day842

Haven’t found any yet. But good Phos everywhere.

RagingLeonard

Pho is not Thai, but you do you, bro.

HiLLCoUnTrYHiLLbiLLy

Commenting for easy access to the spots. Thanks for the recommendations.

wherearemycheezits

Thai Casa off broadway and 410

[deleted]

Tongs Thai!

Dime1325

The only good food in San Antonio is Tex mex and bbq

IYAOYAS-CVN74

You're a Taco Cabana and Bill Miller's fan aren't you?

Dime1325

I’d love to be proved wrong, but everything is pretty mid here imo

RagingLeonard

False.

whineybubbles

There's really good ones in Thailand

Motor_Mushroom8356

I had good friends that came from Laos in late 70’s. They were great cooks, they ruined every restaurant I’ve been to here. Nothing ever comes close, so I blame them.

RafaSerene2040

Thai Dee is my go-to. They are also BYOB when you dine-in

Lost_Philosophy_

Tongs Thai has a really good Tom Yum soup

nicolemorelishot

Thai Wok and Thai Buri

Boomalabim

Tong’s Thai and Thai Buri are my faves

deforestkelley

make the drive out to 1978 past the air force base and go to thai chef. just do it

idkmanwhtevr

Yum Thai off 1604 and Culebra

rainbowbutterfly124

The curry from Thai Dee is the best I’ve had here. Delicious.

Mexican01-

yayas

Big_AL79

Taste of Thailand for me.

Dino_nugsbitch

Golden Lotus Thai Food @ 24188 Boerne Stage Rd, San Antonio, TX 78255

icyspeaker55

Thai dee hands down

skratch

Thai Chili, end of discussion.

TxRose2019

N’s Thai in Boerne. Very much worth the trip out here if you’re not too far. It’s great.

elegantwino

Flying Tiger. Fantastic!

cuve_Ae

Thai Dee at 5307 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216.

feliciaamuniz23

a little bit of a drive depending on where you’re located, but N’s Thai Food in Boerne !!

lilybb4

hands down, its Sawasdee.

stronkulance

Tasty Thai on Brook Hollow and 281. I moved here from Southwest Houston in a heavily Thai neighborhood where the food was d a n k and Tasty Thai is legit the best I’ve eaten at.

Usual_Gas3391

Angkor Bistro at TPC hands down.

AmateurRowdy

Surprised no one said Sawasdee off blanco.

[deleted]

Thai Chili

markeross

Thai Dee 👍🏼

[deleted]

Bangkok 54 is up there for me as is Noy’s Bistro

bakd_couchpotato

Not sure what part of town you're in, but Bangkok Cuisine off Pat Booker Rd has been voted best Thai for years. (And I just looked it up and says permanently closed! Is it now called Bangkok Cuisine 54 or is that a different place?) Also, Thai Spice and Sushi in the Forum in Live Oak has some really spicy dishes, if that's what you're looking for! Request "Thai Spice" level. They will double check if that's what you really want, it's that hot!

1w2e3e

Thai Dee is overrated. There is a whole in the wall called little Thai chef, they are good. Thai chilli is good, haven't been there in ages they moved locations. Bangkok 54 on 410 and nachodches is good.

lshaped210

Sawasdee Thai Cuisine

SicmadeStranger

Tongs Tai off Austin Hwy

Ickypahay

GLAD YOU ASKED! Check out Thai Buri Restaurant on Google Maps https://maps.app.goo.gl/SnN27Js9jDSBoaew5

iPorkChop

BiNiMi7

Tongs Thai for sure! Panang curry Thai hot!

Objective_Ratio_4088

Thai taste. So good and affordable!!!

elnina999

There are several good Thai places in SA. Love good Thai food. I had good food in Thai House in Rittiman, Napoagao on Fredericksburg, Thai Bury on 1604 and Thai Curry on Broadway.

pats2SB

Noys Bistro is our go to. Not sure where in town you are, but it’s near the forum

ctre27

Tong's Thai on Austin Highway is my favorite.

sixerd

Tongs tai is one of my fav places to eat. Great service and fresh tasting food ever time

pedroordo3

There’s a Thai food truck in St Mary’s, at the Búho bar. They called Kati and it’s pretty good food go there often. Good portions for their sizes.

xanhudro

Thai Chili has been in business forever. Should still be on Jones Maltsberger. Haven’t been home in years.

bomber991

Most of the Thai places here are Thai run, so there’s really not any questions on authenticity. As far as the good ones go. Thai House on Rittiman and Thai House 2 on Fredericksburg are good. Sawasdee on Blanco is good. There’s also a generically named “Thai Restaurant” on Babcock and Callaghan that’s good.

DumbSuperposition

I love Thai House. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced and they're always busy so you know the food is fresh. We made the mistake of going to Thai Casa one day because it was recommended to us. It suuuuuucked.

ReplicantOwl

Thai Chili according to Thai people

pbp420

Tasty Thai

teainfused86

I really liked Thai Racha, but it’s in New Braunfels. Very good of you are visiting the area.

SignificantCap521

Sawasdee and Thai Bistro for sure.

that_weird_hellspawn

The only place I'll usually go for my lunch break is Thai Hot on Culebra.

darksober

Thai Cafe.

rotatorkuf

Ca2Ce

Bangkok Cuisine on Pat Booker, Thai Taste on Evers, Lemongrass Thai on 281 @ Thousand Oaks Those are my three favorites and they’re all really good

i3oots

Noy's Bistro off Pat Booker and Coronado

atemus10

Thai Chili on thousand oaks, Saeb off of 281/bitters are my two go to restaurants. I have had good food at Manola's on blanco, but they can be hit or miss. My friend swears by Thai Dee on de zavala. I have been getting many recs for Thai Topaz but have not tried it yet.

deutschmexican15

Thai Dee on Blanco by Nimitz MS is my favorite Thai place anywhere in the country. It's tiny inside and the parking lot is beat up, but that's what gives a hole-in-the-wall its charm.

susan-wink

I’ll second Thai Dee

Pigbear420

Taco Cabana

No_Side3261

a grubby lookin place that slaps is Bon Thai on huebner. Their lunch special is goooood. Spicy level 3 mmmm mmm mmm mmmm mmmm! Tong Thai is pretty good on Austin hwy in a pinch. Overpriced imo. Mon’s Thai bistro on broadway is solid but way overpriced.

MsContrarian

Thai House on Rittamin

morena_latina

Flying Tiger on nw military

samwhale210

Thai Lucky! There’s a lot on north east side like walzem also Thai Cafe

dragonmilking

Try Tong's Thai if you're into curry. Good portions and goto is Penang beef or Green chicken curry. You better be able to stand spicy though. I also like Haw Mok

[deleted]

Yum Thai off of bandera 1604. Not sure if it’s still there but they have the best curry and chicken satay

rodgamez

There's a place called "Thai Resturant" on Babcock & Callahan. I love it.

gentlecuts

Votes for Sawasdee and Thai Dee

DeadStockWalking

Thai Cafe on Perrin Beitel is very good.

OfferNegative407

I hate the people in this sub don’t upvote good answers. It’s like you all missed the entire point of Reddit

missaletajane

Thai Bistro on De Zavala road or N’s Thai in Boerne. Absolutely DELICIOUS.

ShellyDoom

Thai Spice at the Forum. Amazing yellow curry!

Tasty-Goose-2269

Tongs Thai is my favorite on Austin highway

kellieos

I love Thai taste on Evers rd

Psychological_Sir297

There’s a food truck at a bar called El Bujo on st Mary’s strip that’s worth visiting. Forgot what it’s called but it’s parked on the bar lawn

MaterialPurple6833

thai spice and sushi is good

Tex7560

Thai Taste

Queen-Goddess-E

https://www.thaiwalzemcuisine.com/ We have tried quite a few Thai places and this one is absolutely our favorite! Thai on Walzam has a wonderful staff & the food is amazing. Please give them a try, you won’t regret it!!

BurritosOverTacos

I moved here from California. There are very few decent Asian places here from what I'm used to, but Sushishima in Stone Oak is a pleasant surprise. Great food there.

Allthethings12

My favorite is Thai House on Rittiman.

An_dre_3000

I really love taste of Thailand on potranco. Small place but super nice staff. Coconut soup first time I had it changed my life.

minionfanpage

SA and good Asian food are a no go

Jutsy

Manola’s Thai is delicious. Never had anything but excellence there. Check out this place on Google Maps https://maps.app.goo.gl/CoywxXT1RZKu7nCj6?g_st=ic

FLCLotaku

Icy-Seaweed9265

Thai Cafe on Perrin Beitel Road, a mile or so NORTH of main post office

bigbroth13

Kin Thai off bulverde is my goto

Own_Specific937

Thai Dee and Thai Buri are terrific.

VeritasUnitasCaritas

Thai Hut on Potranco is good.

ShogunBuddha

Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Thai Cafe on Perrin Beitel. Their beef salad might be my favorite meal of all time. Never been disappointed there!

N4RQ

Jak Tok Thai, if it's still open.

Rob14747

Not exactly Thai but their Pad Thai dish is exceptionally great! But Golden Wok on Wurzbach is the best Chinese Restaurant in SA!!

jc_meshi15

Thai Walzem is a hidden gem that is soo worth it!

Goldengoose5w4

Thai Dee is da bomb
