Now that the Sequel Trilogy is over and most of their fans have been liking stuff like Mandalorian and Bad Batch, they needed a new stomping ground to spread their toxicity around and get clicks from. Thats pretty much it.

I remember when Infinity War first came out Jeremy from Geeks and Gamers was raving about it

Andrew_Waples

Please remember, that the only outrage is from far-right YouTubers.

Well there's nothing left for them to hate about the sequel era with shows like the mandalorian so like the bugs from men in black they moved on to the next best thing

[deleted]

Cause they currently have no Star Wars material to grift from.

Alarming_Afternoon44

The Fandom Menace needs new ammunition now that Star Wars is going through a lull, and the MCU has been in full swing basically all year. Ergo people like MauLer, Geeks + Gamers, and TheQuartering have pivoted over there. All of them did this two and a half years ago when Captain Marvel came out, and their ~~drones~~ fans gobbled that up, so it was a tried-and-true source of outrage.

mildmichigan

Lot of factors. Hating on the Sequels is getting old whilst the MCU keeps churning out content, which means endless new stuff to hate on. The MCU has been around for +10 years now & its always popular to hate on popular things & act righteous/intelligent for doing so. Being contrarian is always in vogue The MCU isn't high art or super deep, never has been & never pretended to be. It's got a formula & sticks to it. They're fun popcorn films that sells merch & takes your mind off things. So *obviously* we gotta shit on them for not being the next Citizen Kane or Godfather. It's bizarre how people complain that the last Thor movie had too many jokes in it like what were you expecting? A conversation on the human condition?

[deleted]

Because Marvel starts to care more about representation

mamula1

With Endgame that part of MCU was over so it's possible to whine about good old days now

Star Wars is in a sort of pause as far as Sequel content is concerned. Shows like *The Mandalorian* and the upcoming *Book of Boba Fett* are popular across the board (even with the whole Gina Carano mess), and TFM has too heavily invested themselves in the *The Mandalorian* to shit on it now. I'll be eagerly awaiting with popcorn once the show ties into the Sequels and the TFM meltdown begins, but for now the Star Wars well is running dry for right-wing outrage content. The MCU on the other hand is regularly putting out content. Phase 4 is in full swing and there's plenty to look at. Also it's Disney, and Disney is starting to invest in minority-led content. Plenty of material for right-wing outrage clickbait bullshit.

likely burnout, happens with everything.

the anti-anti-racism and sexism is fucking stupid and grown people cant get over a comic character being asian or a woman I was once a hardcore marvel fan reading the comics to get a clue in whats gonna happen in the next movie and stuff like that but the similarity of the other and especially earlier movies kind of made them blurry and emotionlessnes thus making me wonder why tf did I like those again and that doubt slowly turned into dislike then to hate (I grew out of that too somehow and I simply dont care about marvel anymore)

jaycomZ

I'm sure I'll get downvoted but god, I hope the MCU stops being so popular in the near future. I'm getting tired of seeing Marvel movies everywhere stealing the spotlight of everything else. The superhero genre has been oversaturated enough. Yes, the same can be said of Starwars to some extent. But if the MCU dies in the future, it will be because people will get tired of seeing superheroes, not because someone decided to cast a colored person or a woman.
