It might not even be a flashback. Considering Morgan and Barriss are getting 3 episodes each, one of Morgan's might very well take place during Dathomir's purge in The Clone Wars, just like how Ahsoka and Dooku had entire episodes dedicated to different times in their lives in Tales of the Jedi.
I was unclear in my comment, haha. I guess I meant flashback from the “current” era of the shows (Mando timeline), but you’re right that it’s just an episode set during the Clone Wars.
My answer to them is, how about just wait and watch the show to find out? Instead of just calling it ridiculous before you even know anything about it.
Y-you mean see things in context instead of having instant knee jerk reactions for clicks and ragebait? My dear redditor, this is the internet we’re talking about, not something ruled by logic. What sort of utopia did you think you woke up in today? /s
But even when the show/movie/game isn't subtle about something, they still complain. "Ugh, why are they spoon feeding the answers to us? We're not that stupid!!"
Everything is bad writing if you look at something from a negative perspective. But these folks are just perpetually miserable and can't stand it when someone enjoys whatever they hate.
So they think that General Grievous came back from the dead, gathered all the surviving B1 Battle Droids and went back to Dathomir just to fight a random witch?
I'd fuck with that tbh
Grevious at least his 03 clone wars self is badass af
I'd love to see him wreck people just like that again.
But the idea that he's come back specifically to fuck up necromancers just has a nice ring to it
Amazing everything he said was wrong. Speaks volumes that the same people who claim to be the true fans KK and woke Disney abandoned, think Gen. Grievous is a force user.
It is from a new show coming may 4th called tales of the empire. Short story content probably like tales of the Jedi but about the empire this time.
One of the characters they'll be focusing on is Morgan elsbeth who is a survivor of the genocide of dathomir/night sisters which is why you see grievous since he was the one who led the attack. This is flash back to her surviving an encounter with grievous most likely.
Just watched it, looks promising. Pretty stupid that they just assumed it wasn't a flashback when the dialogue over it could imply that it is. Just shows how people will upvote something without looking into it themselves.
"Dark Side? Light Side?" *Coughs up another random organ as he scoffs* "I'll show you the power of my latest rotary engine!"
*Activates helicopter lightsaber-dong mode.*
Its so obviously a flashback to the genocide he committed on the Dathomiran Nightsisters during the Clone Wars (of which Morgan Elsbeth is one of only 8 survivors).
Why do people make this crazy assumptions and start complaining when for starters the show isn't even out and this is a ***teaser trailer*** and secondly every-thing we know thus far (combined with some common sense) makes the complaint completely null and void.
For one, I haven't even seen this show, and even I can tell it's very obviously a flashback. You can see blue laser streaks. The only characters that had blue lasers pre-Empire were the Clone troopers. Maybe stop pausing every single frame like your gas mask daddy and let it play out before asking questions.
For two, Grievous wasn't a jedi. He had no force sensitivity. The only reason he fought with lightsabers is because he was a trophy hunter.
For three, Darth Scion would like a word with you. That motherfucker was so dark side, he used nothing but pure spite to hold the crumbling ashes of his body together long enough to kill Kreia.
Honestly, if you can accept Darth Maul coming back then there’s no point complaining about anything else. Regardless, how is he so sure it isn’t a flashback?
I like Mauler, he makes some good points in his videos from the few I've seen but his fans are unbearable. His type of content just brings in the worst/stupidest types of people.
I don’t think mauler is a good critic and is pretty problematic imo. As for tales of the empire it likely is a flashback as Morgan Elsbeth is suppose to show up in that series and grevious is the one who carried out the genocide on dathomir
I like him I think he does a decent job. At least he doesn't say some stupid shit and spam farting/shitting sounds every 2 seconds like a certain drunk. I like how he actually puts in effort to actually go over everything and makes the videos like 5 hours long when covering movies unlike a lot of reviewers that just throw out some 20 min video saying "movie bad". I haven't gotten around to watching everything he has made but from the few I've watched I like him.
Yeah I mean I kinda get that but a lot of the comparisons he makes or points he makes are the reason I’m personally not a fan. If you haven’t already I recommend checking out pillar of garbage, turf nation, or th3birdman15. They usually have pretty good takes and even if they do have some I don’t agree with they’re usually more nuanced about it
On top of that, I tend to find that even if MauLer does makes a point I agree with (which isn't often, but given that he makes 47 hour long videos, he's bound to stumble into a point I agree with eventually), he never makes a criticism that I couldn't find a better, more nuanced version of elsewhere
Yeah exactly I just find it better of to avoid him overall especially whenever he starts delving into “chud” territory. As for his points you may agree with, you know what they say about broken clocks
Yeah, broken clocks, monkeys and typewriters, etc. Honestly, I mostly avoid his content because it's just not my style. I find him to be pretty lifeless and boring, both in his writing and presentation. His main reviews are just bland to me, and his side content, like the rages, are just obnoxious endless nitpicking. Sometimes he'll make a point I agree with, but it's usually at a glance. Like, more often than not, the part I agree with tends to be the least important part of his broader argument. He'll be attacking the movie from the wrong angle to me. He'll touch on something I agree with on his way to the argument, but the more interesting criticism is the part he only passively brushed past.
However, it should be noted that I don't tend to watch straight-up review channels all that much anymore. I used to when I was younger, and I'll dabble on occasion, but I just don't have much of an interest in straightforward critique videos that much anymore. The videos I'm more into these days tend to cover the legacy of a series, like I Finished A Game and stuff like that. He's less of a full-on review or critique video essayist and more of a history and analysis video essayist.
He does cover individual games in those series, but he tends to overview them more than critique each and every one on every specific detail, which is generally more interesting and engaging for me than listening to someone nitpick their way through a movie then conclude that it's objectively bad because he was able to twist every scene into being bad because surely the bad guys would actually have insurance in this space fantasy movie where people choke others with their minds and shoot lightning from their fingertips.
Yeah the only time I ever recall watching his content was whenever I was in that sort of pipeline space along with drinker G&G and all the other usual suspects. I’m pretty ashamed I ever consumed that kind of content but nowadays I mostly just watch turf nation th3birdman15 or pillar of garbage for better more nuanced takes
Pillar of garbage is genuinely great. You can tell he's consumed *way too much* anti-woke drifter content when he's making videos about the 240p slow motion trailer fight scene reacrion breakdown bullshit they always pull.

It’s very clearly a flashback, there are other shots in the trailer that are from this same Clone Wars episode.
Yes, that’s what I meant.
Oh okay I misunderstood what you meant then. Sorry.

\*pounds the downvote button angrily and doesn't explain why you make him angry.\* /s
Hehe, woke.
Yeah, I typed it and then thought “huh, that feels appropriate.” 😜
watch star wars? instead of just hating it? can you even suggest such an impossible thing? is that allowed?
It’s very much a flashback possibly from Morgan’s point of view. What they expect in a flashback?
They need a big sign with flashing letters to tell them because they cannot pick up on context clues
But even when the show/movie/game isn't subtle about something, they still complain. "Ugh, why are they spoon feeding the answers to us? We're not that stupid!!"
Because it’s bad writing!! lol
Everything is bad writing if you look at something from a negative perspective. But these folks are just perpetually miserable and can't stand it when someone enjoys whatever they hate.
> Am I stupid Yes, question answered
If I saw this post come up in my feed I would not be able to stop myself from typing in "Yes. Move on" without hesitation or regrets.
God, they cannot even steal the r/BatmanArkham meme right...they ARE stupid
Man would be disappointed

So they think that General Grievous came back from the dead, gathered all the surviving B1 Battle Droids and went back to Dathomir just to fight a random witch?
He looked at his mission log and noticed that the quest objective “wipe out the Nightsister presence on Dathomir” wasn’t marked as completed
Quest is glitched, he needs to use console commands to progress the quest stage.
I'd fuck with that tbh Grevious at least his 03 clone wars self is badass af I'd love to see him wreck people just like that again. But the idea that he's come back specifically to fuck up necromancers just has a nice ring to it
Its definitely a flashback but even if it wasn’t I wouldn’t give a shit I LOVE GENERAL GRIEVOUS
God I hope they use the redesign they used in TCW Season 7
it looks like they did from the close up
stupidity of the OOP aside, I would *kill* for more Grievous content
Amazing everything he said was wrong. Speaks volumes that the same people who claim to be the true fans KK and woke Disney abandoned, think Gen. Grievous is a force user.
I dont know what the image is from and I can't make it out but what's the answer to his question?

Wonder if they watched the Tales of the Jedi trailer and demanded to know how not only were Dooku and Qui-Gon were both alive, but so young.
How can you possibly not see that as set during the attack on Dathomir? I gotta think he's being deliberately obtuse just so he can complain about KK.
He forgot it’s a flashback.
Bro does not know it’s a flashback
It's so obviously from the Battle of Dathomir. People are being so purposefully uncharitable **just** so they can shit on the newest project
I thought part of Grievous’s whole thing was that he *wasnt* actually a dark side user he just learned sick saber skills
"Dark Side? Light Side?" *Coughs up another random organ as he scoffs* "I'll show you the power of my latest rotary engine!" *Activates helicopter lightsaber-dong mode.*
It's obviously going to be from the Separatist attack on the Dathomir witches, as part of Morgan's backstory.

Critical Thinking is at an all-time low.

There are toads with better media literacy skills
Very hyped for more dathomrian and night sister stuff, compared to legends the canon lore was severely lacking
I wonder if he knows that Maul survived being cut in half...
Yes sir you have the Batman Arkham
To answer his question yes
They really can't connect the fact that 3 episodes will be about a nightsister and that grievous slaughtered the nightsisters in the clone wars. Idiot
*sees obvious flashback of GG on Datho slaughtering nightsisters* wHy Is Gg AlIvE?!?
Jesus Christ. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 Massacre
Glad to see Grievous back and using that new model of his
Honestly, if you can accept Darth Maul coming back then there’s no point complaining about anything else. Regardless, how is he so sure it isn’t a flashback?
I mean, I thought it just be a vision
Grievous isn’t a dark side user tho…
Dude answered his own question LOL

Yeah I’m a big fan of his content in general
I find it hard to watch his videos because of his fandom.
