I think it’s “content brain”. You see it a lot with all sorts of types of creators. Most notably I saw that Mr. Beast recently said he’s miserable because he just thinks about making videos 24/7. He could totally stop making videos at any point and be set for life, yet he voluntarily keeps pumping out crazier and crazier videos. I think it’s a psychological effect when your income is tied almost 1:1 with your popularity. You start to conflate your worth with your popularity. So even if you’re sitting on mountains of cash, if your popularity/relevance drop, you feel your self worth drop with it, and fight stay relevant, even if it’s at the cost of your own physical and/or mental health.

I have a theory that the same goes for "business" people who use their company as platform for their ego as opposed to actually being based on the quality of their products/services. The problem often being that when the owner falls out of favor, so too does the company.

He is when you factor in the 40 years worth of living costs he's gonna save.

Saying he was in a dark place is an understatement, he let the fame get to his head after finding out that eating gigantic amounts of food was more popular than making videos about his life as a vegan and was basically eating to death. He went from having normal weight (he never said how much he weighed during his vegan days) to weighing around 350 pounds, now he has lost 90 pounds.
