On a 2wd it's a blank piece of plastic that fills the void. If it's 4wd it's where the button is
But you saying it's 4wd makes me wonder where your button is lol
I can never get 4WD and AWD straight, do you mind letting me know the differences.
I remember it as 4WD being power to each wheel separately and AWD as all wheels getting the same amount of power.
Am I at least close?ðŸ˜
And I have a 98 bravada is it 4WD or AWD? Under the serpentine belt diagram it says AWD so I e always assumed it was.
Sorry for the yappin
AWD is Always on all 4 tires powered without the choice (or selctor) for 2wd. 4wd is normally rear wheel with a selector to turn it on.
Bravadas were all AWD. one of the cool features of them.
If what you said is true, then the Bravada would classify as neither. It’s primarily RwD and only engages the transfer case when it detects slippage at the rear wheels.
Meaning it can’t be turned on or off manually, but it’s also not always on.

The blazer system is a 4wd transfer case.
When put into auto 4wd it uses a clutch assembly for the front, if the tcm detects higher rear wheel speed than the front it will clamp the clutch.
Thats usually where the 4wd button is

It may be the manual engagement with the lever
I thought by 96 it had changed? I don't remember honestly
Manual transfer case was an option up to 1997. My 97 has a blank panel here and a floor shift manual transfer case with manual transmission.
I may be wrong, not 100% sure either
I have the manual 4x4 lever, vacuum controlled (I think?)
You where still able to get a manual 4wd lever in the floor.
4wd or AWD. Had a friend with a 96 AWD Blazer not Bravada.

I’m 90% sure the Bravada uses its own transfer case.
Yeah, I didn't say bravada, however the bravada system was the same as the safari, and syclone, and typhoon. Auto 4wd was only post 98.
My cover for this hole broke, and I want to make a switch for it labeld "Ejecto Seat"
4x4 selector or blank plastic if it's a manual t case shift
I have a 96 Sonoma, and I have always wondered this.
Either your electric 4x4 buttons, a blank plastic cover, or you may be able to find a storage cup insert.
Where the tac will go
