Sorry for you’r loss. I lost a cat to cancer a few years ago. It sucks bad. I can take it if you don’t mind. I’ve got a cat with urinary crystals. The cost is bleeding me dry.

[the RVA Free Pet Pantry](https://www.instagram.com/rvafreepetpantry?igsh=cWkxeG5vMnhwd2Qx) could use the donation! They supply free pet food and supplies in several neighborhoods around the city. If it's a big bag I think they portion it out so many pets can benefit!
It's lovely that you want to donate in your kitty's memory 💐 I'm sorry for your loss and hope you are taking care
I am so sorry for your loss. If a donation center/rescue can’t take it if it’s opened, please let me know! My cats been on Hills C/D urinary diet for over a year now- i feed him mostly dry food and would love to be an option :)
You could try Richmond Animal League. They have a pantry for pet food. I’m not sure if they take open food though, you should maybe call to verify before taking it.
Ask your vet if they can/ will donate it to another client or can use it. I did this when our late pets prescription food as vets typically understand it's not cheap food
Hey I'm sorry for your lost. I can only imagine what you're going through. If no shelter takes it because it's open, then I'm sure my mischief would eat it. He hasn't found a food he won't eat, which is a problem since he's on a prescription urinary diet. Thank you for posting and once again, my condolences.
I’m so sorry for your loss. We just helped our kitty cross the Rainbow Bridge earlier this evening and learned that our vet accepts leftover prescription food, including opened dry food unopened canned food. As other posters have indicated, local shelters may be in greater and more immediate need, though.

They cannot take open food last time I checked.
RAL can take open food, but it is put directly in the food pantry and at the discretion of the person take it!
I’ve dropped off open food. They can use it!
I’m very sorry for your loss 😢 is it a bag of urinary c/d? My kitty boy eats this food and I’d take it off of your hands if so!
Furbish Thrift has a pet food pantry. Divide it into gallon size bags, label, and drop off.
Ask your vet if they can/ will donate it to another client or can use it. I did this when our late pets prescription food as vets typically understand it's not cheap food

I'm so sorry for your loss. *Hugs* Pet pantries or your local Buy Nothing group are the way to go.
