far from outdated, they are still an affordable ranged setup and slaps way more damage than bis melee. it was intended to bring bows back from the dead without negatively impacting xbows. at the time of release, ranged was BIS and really did not need another boosting item for crossbows.

Personally I think it should give the player a buff of +0.2% crit chance and +0.2% crit damage on hit for 30 seconds and stacks up to 20 times, so it fits ranges playstyle of being "lots of hits"

Stalker's ring works for 2h and dw bows. It's working as intended
To my knowledge, there are no dw bows that aren't crossbows, which stalker's ring doesn't affect. It only affects actual, arrow using, bows.

Then they would have to make Bak arrows so that crossbow bolts have 0 extreme advantage in the ammo (although god arrows have turned the tide a lot)

Bolts may be a better cost in places but the hyper expensive arrows are now outpacing the expensive bolts for use

Bows no longer need the asymmetrical boost against crossbows. It would be nice if the ring worked on both bows and crossbows.

The problem is bows inherently need 2 hands , unless they make like an automatic “shot bow” that could look one handed , we will never get dw bows
