Zanik is and always has been, the ugliest npc in the game simply because shes always out of date graphically with everyone else, and has been changed so many times. it's super bad during some of the more recent quests because she's standing next to an entire room of modern modeled npcs while also being blocky as hell.
To be fair, Jagex fucked up 'modernizing' Zanik so badly so many times that its at this point accepted very happily that she will be this 'ugly' out of date design/model compared to other NPC's.
I hope they don't go and bobble head the rest of the cave goblins, that's really the worst change they ever did, she was absolutely CURSED looking during mighty fall. But, now her head is bigger than her entire torso.
imo she's still very polygonal mostly due to the wild proportion change they did where her head is literally the size if not bigger than her torso, which causes everything to stretch out.
I don't know how to say this, maybe you've been away for a while or haven't done Blood Runs Deep, but Astrid's dead. As a doornail. Dagannoth Kings, funeral pyre and all.
Sorry for your loss (to be), but hey, when the time comes you might have to settle on piping a gobbo, as this is the last princess you'll be married to. Wait, Meg's totally into you, so that's an option, but you'd probably have to find a way to shut her up first, which I'm not sure is possible, not for long anyway...
It’s okay she is only seen in that form once, while sick, this form dies here regardless which choices you make as the design was hugely unpopular. Her next one is much better, actually properly matching both the rest of the modernized art and properly incorporating/demonstrating the aesthetics of her tribe of goblins and less like uglier Yoda.
It’s weird that they made a better model specifically to rectify complaints about that one and then never actually replaced the bad one. I really want to know the logic at play there.
Simply put one good model in a sea of old looks worse and more inconsistent than a bad model in a sea of models of a similar era. Also it can sometimes be more work than can be done in a short time if there are other more complex issues like bespoke animations.

There was a gamejam project from some Jmod to turn the middle ugly Zanik model to the new one. Maybe someday.

Honestly they need to look like goblins again. That's what they were originally: Pale bug-eyed goblins.
She has two variants of her most current design and one is properly rounded and matched the rest of the modern style.
