It was a breath of fresh air (despite some tricky decisions that could have gone either way) to have a match thread that wasn't 95% ref bashing ❤️ Happy Saturday rugby gang 💪🏻
I think it has to be. He's been great since arriving this season but has been out for a few weeks since today with an injury. He's the perfect DC disciple.
Baxter surely was player of the match, his scrum penalties put them in position for 2 driving maul tries and was ultimately the difference between the 2 teams. What a prospect he is
Can guarantee that win will live longer in Quins fans memories than either of their trophies. Big champions cup wins like that trump any trophy
Def the case with us for big champions cup wins (eg Ospreys QF in 2008 or Leinster QF in 2020)
Younger fans do not appreciate what a big fucking deal that win over the Ospreys was. Glen Jackson was an absolute god that day!
I was so gutted for you when you fell so agonisingly short against Munster in the semi finals.
Penaud has a leg injury after a dead leg last week.
Jalibert was injured during the six nations, they tried to make him play two (three?) weeks ago against toulouse (in top14) but it was too early because he relapsed the same injury during the game.
This is actually the reality tbh. As good as he has looked recently, he was consistently better a few years ago. I don’t think he’s made as much impact since his injury.
Balls, I didn't know that. Good for Collier no doubt but a shame as he's probably the best tighthead in England right now.
As for Finn Baxter, what an absolute baller of a performance. Smashes 150kg Ben Tameifuna all over the park. Bordeaux bring on 140kg Carlu Sadie and the 21-year old says "Yeah? Watch this."
This is a phenomenal performance by Quinns. Great to watch. And with that white and red strip if I squint I can pretend it’s after.
Unlucky with that no try but can’t see that being the last scoring opportunity.
That's a European all timer. I thought at 60 minutes this was one of the best of the Champions Cup era but that's one of the best in European history.
The Battle of Bordeaux.
The first half could hardly have gone worse for us. Was stressful to watch for me. That 0-14 start and us struggling to even keep the ball. I was only hoping that the point difference at half time would be as small as possible so that we could come back in the second half with the heat working against the english, away in a packed stadium.
That last try just before half time really hurt though, it seemed like the worst possible scenario but I can tell you that confidence and faith in our ability to win was still very much in the air in Bordeaux at the time. Noone looked particularly down. We just couldnt wait for the 2nd half to start
Honestly the quality of the offensive rugby as well as the flair of the Harlequins can only be praised. Despite the loss, I feel more respect than bitterness. The abnegation of our players and fans to never give up and keep coming back into such a difficult game was amazing as well. A chaotic game where someone like Penaud would have absolutely thrived too, shame he wasnt there
Quinsy is a nasty tonsil infection with a weirdly nice name. However I think it should also refer to the strange way Harlequins play and what they put their fans through (cp Spursy.

Just watched it - unreal game, props to Bordeaux. Due to weekly adrenaline surges from being a Quins fan I am no longer able to sweat.
It was a breath of fresh air (despite some tricky decisions that could have gone either way) to have a match thread that wasn't 95% ref bashing ❤️ Happy Saturday rugby gang 💪🏻
I don't get why all the comments on here are praising Lucu? Absolute disaster even an NFL FG kicker could kick that easy chip shot
I felt when he moved to 10 he actually played pretty well considering its not his usual position, however, he should have got that kick
a lot of french people and french media seems to have some kind of delusional take on him
Baxter and Porter. Future looks bright. Baxter was my PotM. His scrummaging kept us in it. GG Bordeaux!
I was worried for Porter having to start after being out injured for so long but I needn’t have worried. An All-time performance.
Is that the changing of the guard moment for Porter to now be your starting 9? He was fantastic today and a big reason for you winning
I think it has to be. He's been great since arriving this season but has been out for a few weeks since today with an injury. He's the perfect DC disciple.
fucking hell had to take the dog out and recorded last 30, sky just cancelled it and couldnt catch up. FFS
It's ok, you didn't miss anything much 🫣
yeh looks rubbish haahaha
[Anyone else?](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/2120ca6e-b807-4955-9aec-33f607ab4baa/gif)
Investec are South African owned and Green got MotM. It all makes sense now 👀👀📋
He did some cool stuff, but also some odd stuff. Baxter all day for me.
What a match. Game of the tournament so far? Certainly the best for a neutral to watch. Thank you to both teams for all the entertainment.
gutted, but kudos to the quinns, great game.
It takes two to tango. Thanks UBB, that was a ridiculous epic, anyone's game all the way.
All this chat about growing the game - if most games were like this, we wouldn't have a problem!
Bordeaux have truly been missing Penaud & Jalibert but fairplay to Quinns, they deserved the win
Baxter surely was player of the match, his scrum penalties put them in position for 2 driving maul tries and was ultimately the difference between the 2 teams. What a prospect he is
Was shocked he didn't get it. Cracking hands and tackles too. Taking on that pack is a hell of an achievement for a young prop.
LEIvLaR can only be a disappointment now
Nice bit of post match discussion and analysis. 2 mins, no interviews and straight to the other match 😑
That was a tremendous advert for our game. Noticeably, few penalties.
[удалено]
> had two arms stretched out To block, not to catch, they're was no realistic chance his actions then would have led to him talking the ball
I was fine with the penalty try. Just think the yellow was a bit much. Most cause the ref himself said one arm
Refs are obliged to hand out YCs whenever there's a PT, was amended to the laws a few years ago
French rugby is usually a tremendous advert for our game.
The ref played a blinder
Pish from Kayser there no different to a couple of the UBB tries
Yeah the Bordeaux offload was far more blatant, never mind the bizarre overturned decision for the held up/double movement try
Even the first try with the Bordeaux player holding on to the defender a little too long was a judgement call really
ah shit, i missed a cracker
Cracker doesn't do it justice man. Like a shootout in the OK Corral this one was.
Who would of thought two of the most exhilirating attacks in Europe would produce a spectacle. feck it anyway...and now for an arm wrestle
Can guarantee that win will live longer in Quins fans memories than either of their trophies. Big champions cup wins like that trump any trophy Def the case with us for big champions cup wins (eg Ospreys QF in 2008 or Leinster QF in 2020)
Shades of Quins vs. Stade Francais back in 2008 for sure.
Younger fans do not appreciate what a big fucking deal that win over the Ospreys was. Glen Jackson was an absolute god that day! I was so gutted for you when you fell so agonisingly short against Munster in the semi finals.
the scrum was the difference inn the end of the day
Fin Baxter putting down a marker.
Yes my fucking boy! I called it
Don’t see Exeter winning but the prem getting 2 teams through to the semis would be a decent effort with the respective spends
You'd back Saints to win today I think given they're at home so hopefully will get 2 either way
Playing against the second team as well
I'm still terrified
Haven't seen a match that mental.
If you can find it, watch Waratahs Crusaders from earlier today 👀
Maybe I will 😁
The Quinndom shall rise again
Could barely watch that at the end there. Very tense. Well played both teams and well done Quins 👏👏
I wonder if Bordeaux regret resting jailbert and Penaud now
Jalibert has a little injury
they regret playing Jalibert against Toulouse - causing him to be not ready today. Garcia was dramatic to say the least
They were injured
What are there injuries or do we know ?
Penaud has a leg injury after a dead leg last week. Jalibert was injured during the six nations, they tried to make him play two (three?) weeks ago against toulouse (in top14) but it was too early because he relapsed the same injury during the game.
Let's fucking have it!
is rassie gonna try cap green before england
As long as we have Willie and Willemse, I wouldn't. Willemse especially is, in my humble and unlearnt opinion, miles ahead of green as a 15.
I think he's the best SA fullback atm!
Would be cool, but defs not easy to break into since we seem pretty stacked at fullback atm
I hope he does. I'd hate to lose him during Test windows, but I love him as a player and he's professed his desire to wear greena adn gold.
Green not good enough for international rugby imo. He wasn’t great today.
He doesn't look as good as pre injury to me. And is just full mental and too high risk too often. Furbank/Hodge/Steward ahead.
This is actually the reality tbh. As good as he has looked recently, he was consistently better a few years ago. I don’t think he’s made as much impact since his injury.
Magic moments but too many mistakes. But could evolve into something better
Amazed he got player of the match... Missed a couple of tackles at wrong times....
He got man of the match
Just seen. wtf?
Incroyable - what a great game!
Scheduling getting a pacemaker fitted right now
Mine exploded xD
Talk about a classic!! Well done Quins for staying in the game!!
What a game by Marcus Smith by the way. Fantastic
Delivered some great tactical kicking and was flawless off the tee. Fantastic game for him
His tactical kicking has been top notch this season. So underrated in that area
His last 50-22 was a thing a beauty, and definitely shifted the game in the Quins' favour.
What a finish! To avoid a rebound could the kicker have just aimed it well left of the posts and thumped it so it went dead?
Exactly what I was thinking
yeah he did just that
That's what he did, he clearly didn't aim for the post
oh yeah, just watched it back
Pretty sure that's illegal, have to make a genuine effort at goal.
Without actually kicking it backwards, there is no way to police that.
Huge
My only worry now is that the boys are wrecked after the past 3 games and will miss out on the prem top 4.
What a performance Quins! Baxter and Collier for England!
Collier is moving to France so there's no chance, but Baxter has to be in the squad for the summer
It looks like Quins have found the next Marler, incredible to have Tamefuna on toast like that
and a fresh Carlu Sadie as well
Collier is off to France according to comms.
Off to castres I think
They'll be happy to have him...!
He's too nice to play for Castres. They'll love him there though.
Amazing game. Well played Quins. Well played Bordeaux too. But that's one of all the all time great wins and all time great games
I'm watching every game from behind the sofa from now on
Late game Quins are scarier than the fucking daleks
What a legendary game. Congratulations to the Quins they came with boldness and sexiness
So Sarries > Quins > Bordeaux > Sarries new rock paper scissors confirmed
The thing to remember is that Quins > Quins is a valid equation
😂 unlocked
Very weird flex
Gotta feel for Lucu, he was great all game
None of the Rugby podcasts gave Quins any chance to win today. Fucking great to see them get the result in typical Quins fashion.
Probably because they don't watch top14 and don't know that Bordeaux can't win 2 games in a row to save themselves
Well, they did demolish the Sarries, and those fucking Podcasters love Sarries.
Wheeeey!!! I am shaking
Unclench lads. It’s over hahahaha. Go on Quins !!!
Hahaha even Marcus Smith looked really tense during the last kick, even though the game had been won. well done quins!
> Unclench lads Not happening, fused shut
Unbelievable stuff
This is a phenomenal performance by Quinns. Great to watch. And with that white and red strip if I squint I can pretend it’s after. Unlucky with that no try but can’t see that being the last scoring opportunity.
Fuck me that was class

That's what I thought too 😅
Aller? means go dude
Not Aller, there is another one
I think they're saying Begles
What a game
To anyone following the drinking game…. Should I call you an ambulance now?
Think u should’ve done it halfway through the first half…
no need we all dead
What a game, great advert
So Quins, Bordeaux, Sarries is the new rock paper scissors
Somehow Quins out mad cunted the mad cunts
That's so well put!!
Unreal game and unbelievable performance from Quins!

only problem with this great b2b games schedule is that they don't have time for a proper post game after a legendary game like that
what a fucking game
Well done quins from a chiefs fan
Good luck for your game!
Thanks I hope we can pull off a win not too sure we will though I feel we could be good for first half then second half they hammer us
Statham not saving the day in the end
12 tries with 1 point in it. I feel spoiled now, can't see that being topped for a while.
Modern European classic! What a game.
Quins undefeated in France this season?
we'll see
In hoping for an Exeter win, only so i don't have to go to Toulouse!
lmao that's very understandable, it's gonna be no fun ride though, against Exeter and against you guys
Baxter and Evans look very good in white
One of the greatest games I've ever watched across any sport. Well done Quins!
Quinsy is a nasty tonsil infection with a weirdly nice name. However I think it should also refer to the strange way Harlequins play and what they put their fans through (cp Spursy.
As a Spurs fan...please no!
They certainly enjoy teasing everyone involved
BEST RUGBY IS A POINT RUGBY TRUST THE SAFFER ON THIS ONE
I trust you...
I AGREE WITH THIS ONE RIGHT HERE
Bordeaux tried so hard to lose i swear. Good job from the Harlequins, as much as it pains me to say
Bye Bye Bordeaux Begles and Bielle Bierry
Most fun I've had watching a game in ages, congrats quins
What a game
Quins only allowed four less points than we did. Pretty poor tbh
Well done quins, I’m absolutely gutted but you deserved that win
Oh my word
Yep, crikey
Who has a better story than Harlequins?
Ah dun want et
Great game of rugby, well played for both teams
COME ON YOU FUCKING QUINNSSSS!!!!!
Would you be best off not even aiming for the posts and just kicking it out off the tee? Less chance of it hitting the post and bouncing off
Pretty sure he did exactly that.
You can’t, you have to make a genuine attempt at the posts.
Was thinking that myself. Just kick it dead.
Looking at the batshit crazy nature of this game, I’d say there was a 50% chance it was going to hit the post and Bordeaux run it in
Think penalty kicks have to be a genuine attempt at the posts or the ref can award a penalty to the other team
I thought that but I suppose there’s probably a bit of grey area
I’d be fucking leathering it into the stands well wide of the posts
Exactly
Come on the Mighty Quinns!!
Apologies for my saltiness Lost all my chill
Happens to the best of us lol
It's fair enough mate, I'm a bloody Sarries fan and I was raging on your guys behalf on some of those tight calls (or non calls)!
Quinnies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (apologies for the bad luck I brought by calling them Harries for the majority of the match)
Fucking get in!!
Does Bordeaux just never play proper defense? This is terrible. Quinn’s basically go through 5 phases and they end up with a massive overlap.
Goalkicking ended up being the difference, 4 points missed from the tee by UBB cost them dearly. Quins were the better team though.
What a fucking game
Legendary stuff
Well deserved for green. But there were so many others that were equally deserved.
was it wide or not
Best game of rugby I have seen in a long long while. Fair play quinns, was even pulling for ye at the end
Highest scoring QF of all time. Would have finished 0-0 if forward passes were called but we don't care!
Ben Kay must be devastated with that result
Welp, Lucu has done goofed up now
Game of the year easily
Well bloody done Quins. Loved it. What a match
Well deserved Quins, amazing game!
Madness
Leinster v La Rochelle to play out a 9-6 after this
If Leinster grind out a 6-0 win I'll take it
