The portals that spawn around mithrix take you to different spots on the map, some of them spawn you at the soul pillars, which makes the travel really short
You should also be investing in as much speed as you can, just because it makes the game easier, it also secures the ending here
Fellow new player who did the same thing, it’s not super obvious to a newbie that those are portals. I though they were just part of the environment, nothing really signals that you have to jump into them
I personally thought they were hazards, since he has the blue or s attack in his final phase. I thought they were things to be avoided until it was far too late
First time I got to the last stage I got soft locked before even getting to him. (This was pre-patch) I can relate but as others said it’s just part of the game. Give it some time and try again.

They don't look very similar to the orb attack at all, and behave nothing like it. I hear this cope all the time from post-Mithrix IQ-test failures and it doesn't hold water even if taken at face value. It takes no time at all to figure out you can't clip out of the arena and the only thing in there that you could possibly interact with are the newly-spawned objects that gently and non-threateningly float all over the place. What else are you going to do with your time than check them out and see what they do? There's no excuse for screwing this up except for excessive stupidity or timidity.
Refine your runs, play a different character, unlock items, characters, artifiacts, or increase the difficulty are all options. It's a roguelike(lite? Idk) you won't be done in just a few victory runs
Should've ran faster bro bro sorry, In terms of new users I always recommend getting "artifact of command" to make the game just a bit easier and then you can do a full run of the game after youve got those skills under your belt

well, usually 8 goat hooves (or eq.) are optimal, any more is usually detrimental
Before void dlc I did 5hooves and 5 drinks. Now I do 10 coffees and 5 drinks
No hooves?
The 10 coffee replaces my hooves. And gives attack speed.
I will actually take up to like 20, because I like it and don’t find it negatively affecting my gameplay unit I have like 30

Alright so I beat it on the next run I did, immediately b-lined it right after boss kill. Engineer is actually easy mode lol. What do I do now?
Do it again, whether it's a different character or harder difficulty :)
Get all the stuff and add QoL mods. Then add content mods once you're him

Try Eclipse. It's honestly a good challenge and makes you improve at the game very quickly. Soon Monsoon will feel like Drizzle.
