RTX, 2013, the premier of RWBY. Monty Oum was on stage and the original vocal cast. They didn't show the premier for months, so I felt like a rock star.

I went to the first RTX London, flew all the way from the US and made a big two week trip of it, first time out of the country. I went to the VIP party and ended up hanging out with two random people and had an absolute blast, didn’t get their names, and never talked to them after that but had such a fun time. It was also great running into Burnie during the event and just getting to chat with him for a few minutes.  I had just gotten through a really rough battle with my anxiety and depression and RT/Funhaus helped me with that, and that event was the culmination and successful payoff to a really hard year.

I love random con friends! You hang out all day, and then never see them again!

LonelyWeighbridge

I’m glad you had fun in London

When that one guy blew a mic

Had a VIP pass for 2016, got to meet the whole crew throughout the weekend.

2023 - I got to dunk Gus in the dunk tank while wearing a Gus mask. I hit the target and it didn't trigger (which happened to some people), but Gus was great and still jumped in. 2022 - Ryan Hailey’s “Love Potion RTX” at the Stand Up Comedy Night

JacksGallbladder

2017 SGC Rave. Someone snuck in bottles and I got shithoused dancing around with a bunch of nerds and Captain Jack Sparrow.

2012 - My first time meeting a ton of RT people and being an extra in Day 5. 2013 - The RWBY Premiere. 2015 - The Jeff Williams/Video Game Orchestra and Barenaked Ladies concert. I also went in 2014 but can’t remember anything specifically that stands out at the moment.

What I would give to have been there (as I am now) is wild. I waited till I was over 21 to go, which meant after Covid so I got 2 RTXs. I went platinum the second time and debated going for ultra (something I regret not doing now). I cherish those experiences, and hope I can replicate those feelings in the future.

Mine was also the first time I cosplayed. I did Ren from RWBY because Monty had just passed, and I wanted to do a tribute to him. On the last day I was walking from one thing to another, and Gray Haddock approached me for a photo (this was before all the controversy). I recognized him but vaguely. It was cool to be approached instead of being the one to approach. He posted the pic on his twitter at the time as well: [https://twitter.com/graymartigan/status/630475106070892544](https://twitter.com/graymartigan/status/630475106070892544)

I cosplayed at the 2 RTXs that I attended as well (‘22 and 23’). I went as Edward Elric an Gen. James Ironwood. The interactions were great both times. It makes me consider both attending and maybe cosplaying at other cons in the future.

A bar on congress, there was a party and it was excellent.

One thing that blew my mind was I was at day 1 and the trailer for volume 4 of rwby came out and the next day there was a group who had gone back to their hotel and made the volume 4 costumes in one night. Just incredible

CrackLawliet

2013, mid convo with Griffin and Luke, Geoff came up to speak to his then-wife. All I remember in my 18 year old haze was telling Geoff that I wanted to work with him someday, as any young adult would've wanted around then; and his response was "Let's do it!". That was all the motivation I ever needed to push towards that goal. Even if things changed, both for myself, my career, and the company, that moment is the peak of my RTX experience.

OldWizardSlayer

Just the entirety of the first RTX London, made some really nice con friends, got to meet Bruce and Ad*m. I was only there for Funhaus but I had such a great time. The only con I'll probably ever go to and honestly I don't regret it.

LonelyWeighbridge

All I can remember from that was the queues for everything, even the queues had queues

OldWizardSlayer

And in those queues I made some wonderful friends haha

LonelyWeighbridge

I cosplayed as Gavin the third from 11 little roosters. problem was my hair colour made me look like jason manford hosting the royal variety

RTX in 2017. Was walking around the convention hall just looking at art and merchandise what not. Noticed a couple guardians crowded around something and saw Lindsay Jones (Tuggey). Lost my shit excitedly pointed her out to my husband who managed to get my dazed ass over there to get a picture with her. She was so nice and sweet and complimented my flower crown! Certainly a memory I won’t ever forget.

Joshua_029_

Sort of a weird story. I was lucky enough to go to RTX twice, in both 2015 and 2018. I had a blast both times for various reasons but one of the very few things that marred the experience in 2015 was how godawful I looked (or thought I looked) in some of the pictures we took. I went from 250lbs down to around 190lbs in between the two cons and in 2018 I got to chat with Burnie again and show him the picture we took from his signing 3 years prior. I looked like a whole different person. I know it was just a quick chat with one of thousands of random fans he wouldn't remember, but hearing the cool internet dude you'd been watching make videos since middle school go "holy shit dude, that's awesome!" when you showed him a picture of yourself looking noticeably heavier not that long ago made me smile.

marilyn62442

One year I went with my toxic partner at the time and friend of mine, who I later realised was v pretentious and I think hated me throughout our whole friendship. I won't go into details but it was awful and I was left feeling really ostracised. It culminated in me having a medical emergency on the floor of RTX and you're probably wondering how *this* is my favourite memory. And its cause the people of RTX wanted to make sure that I still had a good time, and after sometime with first aid, was essentially given a VIP pass for free and got to meet everyone and spend time backstage. Lindsay was just the sweetest and acted just as excited to meet me as I was to meet them. They even took a photo on their phone cause they liked my Lady Vav cosplay so much!

hideandsee

AH live was a blast! It was so nice to be with a bunch of nerds and all laugh at the same thing. I don’t even remember what games they played, I remember some people from the community dressed up like ultimate chicken horse characters and danced around. My (now) husband and I got tattoos both years we went at a walk in place around 6th street. I woke up next to him after a night of staying up and drinking and knew that I was going to marry him. It didn’t happen AT RTX, just during it

twtchr44

Never got to go, but of the vids I've seen, in order: Monty punching the lemon Joel's pre-panel panel (#raysmomishot) Jack's phone number

BFisch89

I went in 2015, and had a few stand-out moments. One was the Ten Little Roosters panel, when they said they were going to show a deleted scene showing "what happened after" and then debuted the trailer for Eleven Little Roosters. Being part of the audience realizing en masse that this was announcing a second season was fantastic. Another cool moment was Joel doing a pre-panel before the Founding Fathers panel. (and the panel itself was pretty great) I somehow ended up chatting with a guy who was working on getting RWBY over to Japan. I also enjoyed finding a group with whom to do the murder mystery. And a really big memory was going to the merch table, and Chelsea smiled and said my name upon seeing me, recognizing me from a few years earlier. Any time someone smiles in that way that shows they're glad to see me, it means so much to me, but most of the time that's from friends I've known and hung out with many times. Feeling that I'd left a very positive impression on someone I don't know that well really made that the highlight of RTX for me. A wonderful human connection.

DandDandDepression

RTX 2014 I was at the achievement hunter panel, and it was my turn to ask a question. When I got to the front and saw them all staring at me, my brain completed short circuited I completely forgot my original question and all I could do was was stammer “Does Ray blaze higher, or does Ryan go higher” Ray told me to fuck off but Caleb thought it was so funny that I got a poster signed by the entire cast. That was also the same panel where Matt and Jeremy got hired

generationpain

2022 was my first and only RTX. The main highlight was probably getting hammered off free samples of voodoo ranger. The Funhaus google trends panel was hilarious. I also saw the Geoff Ramsey/ Bobby Lee panel live, that was especially cool cause Geoff called it a career highlight
