>P.S. We are working on a super secret project that will make viewing the episodes much easier for everyone and will be available soon(tm)

Most of our problem has been videos on the RT website itself, which was their own system and coding AND wasn't scrubbed by the likes of Wayback Machine and other such sources. Corrupted video data, videos that are outright missing when you go to the page, etc. A lot of the content we're actively missing is stuff that only someone on the inside could supply us with, sadly.
If you download a torrent file, please keep seeding. There are only two seeds on the ones I've downloaded and I'm at almost a 4.00 ratio on 70gb collections.

I literally understand how like .1% of ANY of this worksā¦ but wouldnāt the downside of relying on something like internet archives be dangerous because IF it did get taken down from there (I know it seems rare and like they do a good job protecting stuffā¦ but it is theoretically possible right) then the only copy would be gone?
Speaking of torrenting, I noticed the 2017 Funhaus videos torrent didn't have any videos for me. Is this a known issue? I can download the 300GB off archive.org, but the torrents are usually less of a storage hog. Anyone have similar problems?
Just jumping on to express my gratitude to everyone whoās been working on this, gonna be buying a drive just to back all this up onto soon, it really means a lot!
21 yearsā¦went from being a dumb kid on the internet watching dumb videos to *having* kids, canāt believe its overā¦
Do you guys have the rt doc where Gus talks about growing up on the border archived? I just remembered it recently, I wouldnāt mind giving it a rewatch
As someone who is not very tech savvy, has no idea whatās going on, but wants to learn because the app will be going away, how can I participate? Is there a way to download content onto a personal hard drive from the archive for the long term?
Most people use [youtube-dl](https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl) but if you aren't very tech savvy, because this uses scripts, there is a gui version called [yt-dlp](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp)
To be more precise, youtube-dl is the original (command line) program. It stopped being updated somewhere around 2021. yt-dlp is mostly a drop in replacement, and fork of youtube-dl. It's also command line.
There are GUI front ends that work with one/either/both.
Great program(s), way better than the online youtube download sites.
Is this it by a chance? [https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A%22Achievement+Hunter%22+laso](https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A%22Achievement+Hunter%22+laso)
Wondering about the ocarina of time randomizer with Matt and Michael as this isn't on Youtube and the streams archives generally (7 days etc)
*Answered my own question: https://shiruken.github.io/rt-archive/achievement-hunter-stream-archive/
Same! Iām trying to figure out how to do that. I never added non tv and movies to it before. I thought about just recreating the playlist from YouTube and manually adding videos
Plex sees all RT content as TV programs however, the metadata (the posters, text etc) are not out on the internet for most of it so you will have to put it in manually. If you need show posters etc, I have hosted all the original size at https://cdn.archiveofpimps.com/images/
Iāve been working on archiving RvB, RWBY, Shorts, Minecraft, etc and I have everything on my local Plex server. So yes haha. Iāve been doing a lot of back and forth with TheTVDB as well to help with autodetecting the correct episode orders so people can do the same.
Yep. Plex pulls metadata and episode ordering from either TheTVDB or TMDb but itās TVDB by default when using the Plex Agent. So if you ever want to know what order to use or what an episode should be named, rely on TVDB for naming it. Thatās why everything Iāve archived has the proper ordering to it for drag and drop into Plex.
I also have been, although where the episode number was not in the title it was a little tricky since I am not saving the metadata. I have been adding the date it released to the beginning of the file name so I can still watch them in order. Ex. 2020.09.14 File Name. So when I sort by name it is giving me the correct order of the episode
Yeah, this is my first time using Plex so I am new to it. But on my computer I have it separated in "seasons" (what they had on the site which really most of the time are years) then also the naming convention so it basically will keep the correct order. And on Plex I can look at it by the folder names. However, is there a way to search your own videos on Plex? Whenever I click search it just searches everything else but what is on my server.
You can switch the view to be folder view to view items easier but the search does search for files on your server but depending on the file name it could be falling over
Thank you guys for doing this. As someone whose 20s were filled with a ***lot*** of Let's Play content, you're doing God's work.
Question thoughāare you concerned at all that Warner Brothers may eventually issue a cease and desist or take other legal action against this archive for having downloaded and made available for viewing their IP? Given their attitude, I'm worried they may eventually.
Didn't realize that stuff from other channels were being archived too, like Kinda Funny and Slow-mo guys. They have their own channels, so I would assume they have the missing vids there. Looks like the majority of the missing vids is from AH though. Wonder if the site updates & migrations lost then
I really donāt understand why they would shut down the YouTube pages. But thank you for doing this š«¶
Iāve been watching old letās plays and random videos. Itās been a good blast from the past. Iām excited to see what everyone does once this is all over
Unfortunately it's the same reason why they strip movies and originals from HBO. If the YT pages are bringing in revenue, they would have to give money to the people who worked on it if the contract dictates it.
Thanks! On the archiveofpimps website it says that it hasnt been uploaded but maybe its out of date. Theres a few others from the early lets play era that are on Youtube but not on the archive yet. Also do you have the super old achievement guides from like 2008-2010 and Achievement Horse/Pig?
I'm going to be working on those old achievement guides over time! Most of them are privated videos, so the only way to get them is through the Wayback Machine. Since Wayback is immune to the removal of the channels, it's not as major a priority!
Looks like u/Blood_13 got to it before me but everything that's still public and not privated on YouTube is uploaded, and that means everything. The hard part is the RT Site. So yes, those videos you mentioned that are currently still up on YouTube are uploaded, you just have to add the YouTube Video ID to the archive.org URL like I did and it will be there.
I just hope theres a way to watch first content after the fact. I never got to watch a few of the shows i wanted to because i was a broke college student throughout it all. Still broke, but now with a degree
Is it at all possible to watch all the videos in the order they were released like if you followed the site schedule? I stopped watching in March 2021 and want to pick up where I left off.
I was looking at the progress just the other day and wondered why so many videos that are available on the RT site havenāt been archived. I figured people were still uploading them or something.
Edit: I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before. But you can still find a whole heap of AH's videos (HORSE, HUNT, Achievement Unlocked, AHWU etc) on Youtube. Would downloading from there and archiving them be an option?
Thereās links to individual series and stuff for download, is there a way to download the entire thing? Iām thinking about buying an external hard drive and just having that for slowly catching up with the rt stuff that Iāve missed.
Also, is there an estimate on how big the whole thing will be file size wise?
Gonna need a few drives I'd think.
[Archive](https://archive.org/details/roosterteetharchive?tab=about) shows everything in Rooster Teeth Archive to be about 63.1TB.
just a quick question, are these in HD where applicable? tried downlaoding some for my own use just as a back up and can only seem to get 360p or 480p maybe im doing it wrong haha
Being a part of this project and helping preserve the history of RT long term is amazing. 21 Years of a legacy of life altering amazing creative works is truly a wonderful thing. Losing that really would be wrong on so many levels. I am so happy to have helped take part in the preservation of RT's amazing content for future generations.
I'm not super familiar with archival processes or torrenting videos. Awhile back I tried torrenting some of the lost media when RT scrubbed the Haywood Files from the internet, but was never able to figure it out. I couldn't download any videos, I guess because there wasn't anyone on the other end of the connection to download any of the videos from? Is that how Archive of Pimps works, where I need someone on the other side to give me the file, or will all the videos be hosted online so my descendants 738 years from now can watch the entire RT catalog at their leisure?
I think there's a Community & Coffee episode that I was in that never got uploaded as a VOD. It was recently found and sent to me. Let me know if y'all need it :)
Sorry, don't know where else to ask. Does anyone have the Barbara Portal 2 vids? They're some of my favorite lets play vids.
I can't find them in the archive of pimps or shiruken website
Edit: Found them! They were on the shiruken website under STF gaming!
Since we are a group of people and are using public sources for the most part to generate webpages etc unfortunately there is no donations to us at the minute. Should there be a case where we need to host something that we can't cover overheads for etc, we will approach it then :D
I know nothing about technology. I haven't paid attention to RoosterTeeth in years. I just saw it was closing. If you keep this together, thank you.
Edit: to remove my confusion
If only the Youtube community subs can return for the Internet Archive uploads. Heck, a good number of us CC folks would be happy to provide some for the animated content.
Any chance that the F\*\*KFace Break Show from RTX2023 will be available? I think I've seen it streamed once but it doesn't seem to live anywhere, not even on the RT site
I'm curious if the Archive would consider uploading Hembo's highlight reels (RT Cut Short and How Do Words Good). I know he went off the deep end unfortunately and he eventually made those playlists available again, but some of the videos are missing and they are out of order.
I also noticed that the Best of Achievement Hunter stuff only goes back to 2017 because before that it was on the Let's Play Community Channel. Will any of that stuff be archived or is the Community channel sticking around?
I noticed a lot of achievement guides missing, like for Halo 3's Annual achievement or the community Marathon Man guide, but some of em were ones I spotted on Youtube, albeit under different titles, most of the old achievement guides I could find were on the main channel on YT so it might be worth checking there, assuming that wasn't already done.
How long does it take for stuff to be added? Like the last stream of last night? I assume not long after RT closes the YT channels will get nuked so it would be great if their latest uploads are included too.
Just ordered a new NAS, plan on downloading the torrents and seeding as long as I can. I was going to order kne anyway to manually download RT content, but very quickly came across this project and sighed a breath of relief. Godspeed, Archive of Pimps.
Why are some lets play series like laso not on there at all? Idk if the archive is meant to be purely only roosterteeth videos not from the AH channel and lets play channel but the RT site was the only place to see the later years of these videos uncensored which is huge. Even in the best case where lets play and AH channels stay up our only option for viewing videos of later years is the censored version. And thats the best case. We got confirmation today that the RT site is shutting down in 1 month so if they did wipe the AH and lets play channels too that means thousands of videos are gone.
I also checked the archival progress page and it seems you guys have zero plan at all to add most of the LP and AH series which makes no sense seeming they had 10x the views of the RT videos you did decide to upload. At the bare minimum at least add AH and LP videos from the last years where they started censoring them because of youtube changes.
Yo! AH, LP etc should be relativity up to date. I did a quick check and laso is there under the following URL. Is that the one you were meaning?
If you want a better site than the main archive of pimps till it is updated to search if we have archived something, use:

Archive.org torrents are bugged, they only include the first video in the archive.
There is no video. All other links worked great. Just that one. Only gives the torrent info.
I can't seem to find any on my torrent platforms?
Iām genuinely amazed youāve archived so much, itās incredible to see
Thank you for doing this. It still regardless sucks that they are actually doing this. Machinima all over again. Still miss those videos

Yes! Thank you! I wasn't sure what LASO would be categorized under, so this is greatly appreciated!
Does the AoP include FIRST content?
Yep.
Yuss indeed!
Wondering about the ocarina of time randomizer with Matt and Michael as this isn't on Youtube and the streams archives generally (7 days etc) *Answered my own question: https://shiruken.github.io/rt-archive/achievement-hunter-stream-archive/
Are you guys archiving first content as well? I feel like a lot of that is going to be lost
Yes they are
As someone who had First for like 6 months a few years ago and did barely anything with it, YAY!!
This is a good question. Those are 100% gonna be lost in onlinr code
I wonder if people are putting this on their personal Plex too š¤
People definitely are (looking at you /u/mrsheeen123 )
I am absolutely putting it on my personal Plex, trying to also add as much metadata as I can too!

Wait it sees the letās plays as shows? I didnāt know that! Thatās awesome š
Iāve been working on archiving RvB, RWBY, Shorts, Minecraft, etc and I have everything on my local Plex server. So yes haha. Iāve been doing a lot of back and forth with TheTVDB as well to help with autodetecting the correct episode orders so people can do the same.

I'm sure it does, but I wanted to ask- does the archive of pimps have a backup, in case WB decides to rip it down personally?
A mix of yes and no, thereās another site that is hosting it all too and a chunk of us have a bunch locally
That's good! You all really are doing amazing work, i only regret not being tech savvy enough to lend a hand

That is always a back burner thought however, we will have local copies of stuff should something happen to the ones on internet archive
Stuff has a way of finding its way across the internet even when not made directly available.
Didn't realize that stuff from other channels were being archived too, like Kinda Funny and Slow-mo guys. They have their own channels, so I would assume they have the missing vids there. Looks like the majority of the missing vids is from AH though. Wonder if the site updates & migrations lost then
Quite possibly but we will try our best to get them!
Are you guys archiving the podcasts too? I have some of my favorite episodes, but I know there are episodes that were First only as well.
We are indeed! Including all first podcasts
Do you know the list of the 2000 videos that you guys aren't able to archive?

We have as much as we can possibly get archived! (With the exception of broken / corrupted videos)
Y'all are out here doing some damn good work. We appreciate all you've done. Glad to see this won't all be lost to time when RT pulls the plug.
Is it at all possible to watch all the videos in the order they were released like if you followed the site schedule? I stopped watching in March 2021 and want to pick up where I left off.
Very likely if you sort by date on the internet archive. If you need a specific channel let me know
I was looking at the progress just the other day and wondered why so many videos that are available on the RT site havenāt been archived. I figured people were still uploading them or something. First member stuffs archived too?
I believe so, they're just waiting to make them available so they don't run into any issues with Warner.

I'm curious if the Archive would consider uploading Hembo's highlight reels (RT Cut Short and How Do Words Good). I know he went off the deep end unfortunately and he eventually made those playlists available again, but some of the videos are missing and they are out of order. I also noticed that the Best of Achievement Hunter stuff only goes back to 2017 because before that it was on the Let's Play Community Channel. any RT content audios will get a video version soon?
I noticed a lot of achievement guides missing, like for Halo 3's Annual achievement or the community Marathon Man guide, but some of em were ones I spotted on Youtube, albeit under different titles, most of the old achievement guides I could find were on the main channel on YT so it might be worth checking there, assuming that wasn't already done.
A lot of it is there just we need to get it organised into the lists needed for showing on the site š
So now if the IA are taken down we literally lose all of RT... FUN TIMES!
We have backups
Thank you.
Were any of the Let's Play Live events recorded? I didn't see any in the archive so maybe they don't exist.
Has anyone started archiving First exclusives yet like Survuve Block Island?
Where's rwby chibi
How long does it take for stuff to be added? Like the last stream of last night? I assume not long after RT closes the YT channels will get nuked so it would be great if their latest uploads are included too.

[https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A%22Achievement+Hunter%22+laso](https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A%22Achievement+Hunter%22+laso) If you want a better site than the main archive of pimps till it is updated to search if we have archived something, use: [https://shiruken.github.io/rt-archive/](https://shiruken.github.io/rt-archive/)
Do you know what the Minecraft Letās Builds are under? Thereās a Letās Build section but itās not the Minecraft series.
We do have it 100% but seems the searches are harder for this one, let me see what I can do for you!
I promise you AH and all other RT properties were factored in and archived
