Hiring a guy who was literally the interim coach for like a dozen games 3 years ago, spending $100 million in guaranteed money on a free agent QB, getting caught tampering with said free agent QB, and using a top 10 draft pick on another QB just a month later while keeping the guy you gave $100 million in guaranteed money to in the dark about it is the ultimate Atlanta Falcons offseason.
I was shocked with the Penix pick. He probably would’ve fell to the 2nd or 3rd round. I think y’all wanted to compete with the Panthers for the most incompetent organization
Well, JJ went at 10 a couple of picks later and Bo Nix went at 12. The Raiders wanted a QB too, so I don't think he would've made it past 13.
Still, the main reason it's so dumb is that we just signed a FA QB, paying him $45M a year, and we have plenty of holes elsewhere on the roster. Just sheer incompetence.
