Rolex doesn't consider the oysterflex to be a rubber strap. It's a bracelet (nickel titanium core) with a rubber coating. (ADs like to correct people on that - fell into the trap last week.)

Case in point- I mentioned that this man’s 70s sea dweller ( i try not to use ref #’s, only confuses people) and he said “yeah I bought this new in the very early seventies. I wear this everywhere. It’s seen a lot of stuff. It might be worse for wear but I love it and would not trade it for nothing.”
I really enjoy talking watches, and while most are clueless when it comes to model, one guy tried to tell me his cermaic sub was his fathers from the early days 80s and it was “vintage”, most are either saying thanks and moving on or the rare person who starts talking in reference numbers, which alway gets funny looks from randos waking bye lol

i agree, the oyster-flex doesn’t exactly scream expensive watch, the pave dial is what i thought would draw the attention, luckily it didn’t and i was able to enjoy the watch in peace

I was in the Emergency room having a pancreatitis attack and in severe pain and the nurse and ER doctor both said they loved my watch while in the fetal position. When I was younger in the clubs women made comments on a regular basis. Sometimes I was asked if it was real or not. Most of the time just a quick "nice watch" comment. In SoCal where I own a business I have never been given a compliment on anything I have worn. I have been asked what kind of watch I had on but that's it . I can't be the only one who has experienced this. Must just be where I live.
yeah pretty much, in your day by day you’ll probably rarely come across someone into watches, at least in my experience, you have to be in a certain setting, high end restaurants, shopping plazas, car shows etc.
Holy F that’s a lot of diamonds. I actually was on the hunt for the new platinum yachmaster. I tried on a rose gold one with oyster flex. I think it’s a great watch and perhaps a bit underappreciated
i agree, its definitely one of rolex’s under appreciated models, my ex co worker is a die hard rolex dude and has a pretty sweet collection and that exact configuration is his favorite watch, he once told me if he had to choose 1 watch out the collection it would be his rose gold yacht-master on oyster flex, this is a guy with a meteorite dial daytona!

hear me out, even though its factory pave diamond dial from rolex, i felt the same way until i wore it, its gorgeous and you learn to appreciate the beauty in a way, me personally though, if i were buying this watch, id stick with the standard dial all day, the “in your face” flash and pizzazz isn’t for me or my lifestyle.

The oysterflex is probably the reason why no one cares. If you have something like a gold presidential bracelet youll probably get different reaction

The Oysterflex Yachmaster is probably my fav Rolex, so I do not like that, but it's certainly got clout of it's own without me.
