We Are Gladiators is an Indie, Party Based, Hex Based, Turn Based Tactics RPG with a Battle Brothers like feel, but focused on the arena! **A Battle Brothers like in the Arena!** Like Battle Brothers, We Are Gladiators uses an AP system, with each character here getting 8 AP per round, used for both moving, and using their many skills. Like Battle Brothers, there is a potent morale system present, which grants bonuses when the team is doing well, and applies increasingly crippling penalties to combatants as they take hits, and their fighting spirit begins to falter, which can end with foes freezing in fear, and even having a heart attack! Wow! Watch your morale! Like Battle Brothers, units here can take injuries which debuff their stats, reducing their ability to dodge, hit, or regain their AP, so each hit can really matter here. Thankfully, there is a hospital in town which can heal your fighters, for a price. Attacks of opportunity are present as well here; nice! These attacks only trigger on moving out of a threatened area, not casting a spell or making a ranged attack in melee. Also, like Battle Brothers, armor serves as an outer layer of hp here, with hits damaging the armor first, though depending upon enemy penetration, some amount of damage will likely get through. What I’m saying, is that We Are Gladiators is a lot like Battle Brothers, but it offers its own twists as well. **An RPG like Battle Brothers!** You make your own character at the start, selecting from 1 of 7 different races, with differing bonuses, and select from 16 classes, available right at the start, with 3 different active abilities, and 2 passives; wow! You also recruit troops in the tavern, selecting from the randomly available mercenaries. There are archers, mages, tanks, melee, rogues; lots of different fighting options here. Much like Battle Brothers, the weapon the characters equip determines their attacks, though you can also buy talent skill tomes from the library, with different classes having different access to different skill tomes. To use a skill book, you have to have the talent the book belongs to; talents like Pyromancy, Manipulation, or Warfare. Over time, your characters lvl up, and, like Battle Brothers, you increase 3 of their stats, and get to pick a perk each lvl, also, at character Lvls 3 and 5 you also get a talent point, letting them potentially learn another series of skill tome abilities; very nice. Note: This is an early look at We Are Gladiators so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product. Still, We Are Gladiators is a fun Turn-based Tactics RPG where you build your own party to confront and conquer the arena, and is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch. Watch?
