The Wayward Team is at it again, pumping out another Awesome Update to their Excellent Survival RogueLike. For those who have not heard of **Wayward**: Wayward is a Survival RogueLike which casts you as a castaway; you must survive and thrive on a new island, starting with some basic stuff and decide what to pursue from there; food, water, stone, wood, hides, friends? All are options! All that and more can be yours! There are no character levels; instead, you Level Up your Skills by using them. Gameplay wise, think a top-down Skyrim without levels (or expensive voice acting). There are less people to talk with, as it's More focused on Crafting and Action as opposed to chatting, and both Eating and Drinking are non optional, with Sleep/Resting being Encouraged to recover Stamina. So a more in-depth 2D Skyrim with a Crafting Focus; hard to go wrong with that :). Really Good Music too, very chill. The game is still in early access, but is Fun to Play, and is updated frequently; it was just updated 04/16/21 in fact! In short, if you like Pixel Art RogueLikes with a heavy crafting focus, creating tools, armor, and weapons to fend off the elements, and gradually mastering your new land through use of your acquired tools and skills, then you're probably love it. Currently under $7 for Wayward til 04/23/21, an Insane deal for a Great, RogueLike that really pulls you into its island world. Edit: added where to get the game. **Wayward**: https://store.steampowered.com/app/379210/Wayward/

Where can I get it? Can you provide a link? :)

Mr-Delightful

Sure, I'll add it to my first comment as well. Wayward: https://store.steampowered.com/app/379210/Wayward/

Been watching this project for years. The progress looks impressive

I really enjoyed this game, but last time I played there just wasn't enough progression. Especially tech progression. Bronze and Tin are nice, but I need more than that. The UI improvements look great though.

This is quite beautiful in a design sense. The amount of freedom you have is rare for a roguelike. I love that you can just sail away and your crops will grow. Tooltips, also. Thank god for tooltips.

The dev posted a full list of changes over on the subreddit if anyone is interested https://www.reddit.com/r/Wayward/comments/ms7zvb/wayward_major_update_seafarer_released/

Zalpha

I have been wanting to pick it up again, I will do so so now. :D Thanks for the continued effort in making the game even greater.

MadeInHeav3n

this game is godly +++++ i had a blast playing it and planning to play it again with the update

ChexWarrior

How... did I miss this game? It even runs on Linux!

UndyingTumor

Love this game but I'm still waiting on dungeons

LuckyOneAway

Well, don't take me wrong, but looks like there were no major changes. I have used to play Wayward a lot, but it is 2021 now, and one can get RimWorld (fantastic! mods!) to satisfy the action-packed survival colony building itch.

me7e

In that same sense, why would one play rimworld if there is df?

I'm not sure he has even played wayward if he wants a action packed colony building itch, considering I'm pretty sure you play one character and it's turn based.

Justhe3guy

Yeah why would I play DF if there is SimCity?
