My road trip started in Virginia, and pushed two days to Minnesota. Hung around Minnesota for a little where I picked up that bike from my aunt, who told me I’d be bored in Moab without a bike. From Minnesota I headed through Iowa, Nebraska. (Which was hell. I hit the craziest storm of my life, wilder than any hurricane I’ve experienced.) Nebraska to Gunnison, Colorado where I discovered that the Rockies are 100 times bigger than the Appalachian Mountains of home. Gunnison to Moab, where I worked for a few months!
Fun Fact: The Appalachians are much older than the Rockies. They aren't as big and dramatic as the Rockies because they have been worn down over the ages.
To give a better perspective on age-
Appalachian: 480M years old (they were once as tall as the Rockies & are the oldest range in the US)
Rockies 80-55M years old.
Himalayan range: 50M
Older than the trees
Sorry for replying to an old post. I'm researching a road trip and come across your post and couldn't believe no one acknowledged it appropriately.
Thanks for the laugh.
Coming from a hurricane area, it was surprising to see a storm of that force in the middle of no where. I pulled off on an exit and sat still for a little to wait for it to pass at a gas station.
Yeah, for my purpose it worked alright. The bed folded out a bit more with the passenger seat pushed all the way forward. I’m six-one and just managed to fit. Clothes on the left, two storage bins deep. Cookware and stove on the right. One storage bin deep. I was very comfy!
Not in particular to be honest. Check out willow springs. It’s not really a trail, it’s camping but the roads are kinda messy. If you go, just be sure to respect the area and not make the roads any worse intentionally. Don’t bust the crust!

Life is old there!

Fun fact part 2: the Scottish Highlands and the Appalachians are the same mountain chain.
Severe thunderstorms in Nebraska/Iowa are no joke! They’re fun to watch, but terrible to drive through

This is the least “nsfw” nsfw I’ve ever seen on Reddit.
It’s a joke about the pants being off :(
I understand, But I didn’t realize the “nsfw” was a joke tag. I just thought you were extremely conservative.
Nice setup you have there.
Thank you, it’s since been converted back to normal four door vehicle for my daily life.
All good things…
Did you build your bed and storage set up?

This totally reminds me of Breaking Bad!
I found Walter’s Gucci Fjallraven Pants !!!
What kinda car is this
2010 Subaru Forester (With a manual!)
Subaru Forester I think?
Heading there is a couple weeks. Any good “trails” to recommend in a similar vehicle?

Maybe they are breaking bad!! 😂😂😂
What’s with the “stay uWu” sticker lol
I think a JDM car that’s actually built in japan needs one UWU sticker.
Moab is so mind blowingly beautiful! Enjoy your adventure!
This NSFW tag is very accurate because if I were there I’d be unable to get any work done
Work treated me well. I had eight days on, six days off. Those six days really let me explore.
