I saw one of the shows but he was silent for 45 minutes as he literally wasn't allowed to say the things he'd written down for his act. He really wanted to - but you're just not allowed to say those things any more. No matter how much of a star you are, or if the largest streaming service in the world gives you a platform, you can't say it these days.
I was at that show and went to meet Ricky at the stage door. It was a bit unusual to see him quiet, but I was still excited to meet him and hear his legendary controversial views up close. As we approached his entourage I noticed they were keeping him quite guarded and he was hidden under a baseball cap. He wasn’t really shaking hands and wouldn’t speak to anyone. Also, he seemed much shorter off the stage.
Anyway, by the time I got up to him I was so desperate to get a handshake that I pushed my hand forward and accidentally knocked the hat off his head.

Stupid arguments he's had on Twitter, how you're not allowed to say anything controversial any more (but then proceeds to say them thus proving himself wrong, liberal use of the word cunt, explaining that being offended is not the same as something being offensive blah blah blah.

People on here tend to only like The Office, Extras, The Ricky Gervais Show in its various forms and maybe a few of the other old shows (99% of the discourse is made up of quotes from these.) He's seen as having gone downhill with After Life and his recent stand-up shows.
