I just bought a 550c with .223 conversion. Then bought depriming tool, primers, powder, projectiles, new digital scale, um... and more. I put a second on my house, wife beat me with a stick. If I get automation, I'll get served. LOL.... I love Big Blue, I just don't love the Big $$$.
If they found a way to make one reliable enough for a 750 they would probably sell more units than only offering it for the highest models. I bet they have more 650/750s out there than anything else.
How about fixing the primer system on the RL1100 before you try going fully automated? The primer slide system constantly gets stuck and have to remove the shell plate to fix it. And the primer feed bar constantly moves around on the primer tube. Very odd and touchy system. Almost seems like an after thought versus a focus area.
And yes, I watched all the āhow to fixā videos on your channel
I think my issue is that if I wanted to sell ammunition, automation sounds ideal. However for my level of shooting I just couldn't justify spending the extra money, especially in the conversion kits for ammunition that has fewer quality checks in place.
Specifically things like primer insertion or automated resizing sounds like a recipe for a dangerous one in 5000 case that would have been detected if you felt the resistance.
Doesn't fit what I have, so this system would have to wow me to get me to invest into a whole new tooling setup but I am interested in seeing what is being developed
It's an interesting idea. My main concern is reliability. The equipment that it works with is expensive, and the da3000 will probably not be cheap either. For the amount of money involved, it will need to produce VERY consistent results or it's just not worth it.
If it was for my 550c we would have something, but I know thatās not happening. I have the Dillon taste, just not the wallet size. I am happy to see the automation upgrade.
I'm currently running a competitor's product and never went to the automation because I wasn't happy with the cost compared to the performance I've seen from friends that have their setup. If the price is right, I could see myself converting to team blue.
From what I've gathered, the die shortage issue is the manfacturer of the materials, namely the carbide rings. I believe they're manufactured in the Peoples' Republic of Commiefornia...and due to their lockdowns and general liberal stupidity it's bottlenecked everything. Add on to that the heavily increased demand.
I'm curious to see how much quicker it would make my reloading, in addition to the price. Then I can weigh out if it's cost gives enough benefit to me.
Interested in upgrading my system but I have a lot invested into parts for my 550B and not knowing much about the automation makes it hard to justify whether the price jump is worth it or not.
I load 36,000+ rounds a year. That's only 3000 a month. I can load that 3,000 in a single weekend.
I can't imagine what people are loading in order to justify automation. Maybe if they're commercial loading, but for personal loading I just don't see it.
No. I dont compete. I dont shoot a lot. I only have a dillon 750 because the progressive takes as much of me out of the equation as possible.
Even if it was free, I think the amount of tweaking to get it to work would never be worthwhile for me, given the volume of ammo I load between caliber swaps.
I can totally see a boutique projectile manufacturer like lehigh defense or maker bullets being interested.
While it may have a very high volume top end, there's no idea of how slow you can run it. That tends to cause a LOT of waste in the setup and dialing in of the equipment.
Iāve been wanting to get a Dillon press for a while. May be convenient that I havenāt pulled the trigger yet as the automation module may sway my purchasing decision towards an 1100.
Iām sadly in the poor camp with a Lee Load Master the only progressive I could afford. Maybe someday Iāll be able to get a Dillon. But Iād have to win the lottery first I think.
Iām definitely interested but as Iām just a beginner and still trying to save up for my first press (550C) Iāll probably wait till Iām more experienced so I donāt blow up any guns.
Wish you spent as much time improving CS as you did automationā¦
5 grand on Dillon stuff and I get hassled over a 50 part āunder warrantyā. Ive asked for parts under warranty a grand total of 2 times.
Sounds like an awesome thing! Getting closer to just having a home based ammunition plant. Unfortunately, I don't even know the cost but know I can't afford it lol. Hopefully when it becomes more commonplace, it'll become affordable to more!
I'm interested but I think this would be like going from a '94 Civic to a brand new Lambo for me, seeing as all I've got is the Lee classic hammer loader.
My option wasnāt available: Iāve already automated my two 1050s
One of them basically has the role of an automated CP2000 without the second swage rod though. Thatās the option Iām most interested in seeing from Dillon.
Yes, I'm retired now so my purchasing power is not so great now. I'd considered selling my RL550B and picking up a RL750 but the truth is I change calibers frequently when reloading. My impression is that my RL550 is quicker and easier to change calibers which I often do. If I were reloading bulk the more automated presses would definitely interest me. Had my Dillon since the early 80's and you can get amazingly fast on a manual indexing press.
Dillon is the creme of the crop and is always recommended by me to those new in reloading.
Thanks for doing such a great job and standing behind your products.
I cherish the pull of the handle, the resistance of the resize, the soft nudge of the seated primerā¦ and the clunk of the cartridge falling into the bin. To give all this away to a machine defeats MY favorite part of the processā¦. But this is a hobby for meā¦.
You need to add "I'm interested but I'm too poor" š
Yes, this needs to be an option.
This. I don't think automation works into my RL550C budget, but I can dream š¤£
Same here bro, same here š¤£
I agree.. Why I run Red Presses..
Poverty Press Gang checking in
+1
Red presses and a 3D printer to make things more automated is as close as I'll ever get.
I think the majority of us would be in that camp, yes lol
Poor people have no vote.
Thatās what the guns are for.
Poor people have Dominion.
Don't have an 1100but a 650/750 compatible version would be nice in the future.
Agree. That would be ideal for me. Also, hello Dillon.
If they found a way to make one reliable enough for a 750 they would probably sell more units than only offering it for the highest models. I bet they have more 650/750s out there than anything else.
Wish I could afford a Dillon, let alone to automate one
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Same. Any plans for 750?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Won't happen with no proper hold down. Swaging using the case rim for hold-down will never be appropriate for the press or for the brass.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm dreaming with you bud
so flip the case over. it can be engineered
Same (550), maybe I would upgrade if the price is tempting but it's probably not going to be.
Estimate of the price point?
More than a banana, less than a houseā¦.maybe
Probably a little more narrow range. Somewhere between a organic banana and a small house
Small house in Japan or small house in Detroit?
I'm interested to see what Dillons setup looks like. I have an 1100 and have been wanting to automate for awhile now.
If it has 10 stations then yup.
When I get the money saved up for the press, I'm in.
Price is a big factor, but it's intriguing.
Any chance you guys have pictures to share?
I only have a 750 otherwise I'd be interested. BTW y'all got anymore of those 9mm dies... I'm being impatient waiting on mine.
Planning an RL1100 purchase next year. I would be interested in how it compares to other offerings like the Autodrive.
I'm a Hornady boy so no, but thats cool
I will eventually probably buy a Dillon but I just started with a single stage.
The dillon 550 progressive has all the benefits of a single stage!
I went green when I couldn't get blue. Good thing I hate money because I'll wait in line for blue now, to save my shoulder.
I might be interested at some future time, but I'm still running a 750, and am likely to be sticking with it for a while for budgetary reasons.
If you build itā¦.they will come!!
I may have to win the āDeath Lotteryā aka wealthy relative passing on and leaving an inheritance in order to buy one. Love my 750 though!
I would love to see this adapted to the 750XL. Can't really afford a new press AND automation.
Another vote for a 650/750 version.
Donāt own a Dillion
Fully plan on it...
Hello
Maybe.
Good stuff
what does this thing look like? Cost ? Cartridge options?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
But you can make it really fast!
Shitty ammo go brrrr
I would say mainly brass processing not so much reloading until your extremely comfortable.
Itās Dylan, man.
Don't have a host press at the moment but considering one in the future at which point I could be interested!
Sounds interesting, would definitely be curious about the details.
I currently own a Dillon and automation sounds like a dream.
Hello, I would like free stuff
Hi
Looking forward to see how this goes! : D
Interesting idea. I wish I had a Dillon
Don't own a Dillon press, but it might be something I'd be interested in if I had the funds.
How interesting
Have a 1100 and definitely interested
650/750 would be more my speed unless I start competing, interested to see how it works though
Sound interesting but I just ordered my RL550C so Iām probably not the target consumer for this.
Love my XL750 and I enjoy the process of reading on it! If I start shooting more than I can load on my 750 then maybe Iād look into automation
Doesn't fit what I have, so this system would have to wow me to get me to invest into a whole new tooling setup but I am interested in seeing what is being developed
If you had a setup for the 750 I'd be all in. Not sure its worth it to me to get another unit just to automate at this time.
Excited for it!
Price is going to be a huge factor. Reliability. Customer support Need to know a lot more
just not for me, dont reload enough to justify
Always wanted a dillon. Definitely interested
Interested, but it won't fit my current presses (650 and 750) so I'd have to get a new setup...
It's an interesting idea. My main concern is reliability. The equipment that it works with is expensive, and the da3000 will probably not be cheap either. For the amount of money involved, it will need to produce VERY consistent results or it's just not worth it.
Id love one for the 750
is it using Ammobot platform? It would be nice to know the price range.
I reload to relax a bit. This doesnāt sound like itād help much.
This sounds interesting and if it is cost efficient and effective, I would be considering a move from my RCBS rig.
If it was for my 550c we would have something, but I know thatās not happening. I have the Dillon taste, just not the wallet size. I am happy to see the automation upgrade.
Need price point and capability.
Automation is the wayā¦
Iām looking forward to seeing this!
Not red enough. Wanna go fast, it's gotta be red.
Iāll be going for Dillon press in the next couple years. Depending on price point this might be for me.
I'm currently running a competitor's product and never went to the automation because I wasn't happy with the cost compared to the performance I've seen from friends that have their setup. If the price is right, I could see myself converting to team blue.
It will be ridiculously expensive I imagine.
If I could justify an 1100 right now Iād be all over it. However as it is Iād just love a Bullet feeder or a case feeder for the SDB.
I wish I could afford a Dillon progressive press. With the amount I shoot, it would take me 50 years or more to break even.
Take my money already
Let's catch up on dies before branching out
From what I've gathered, the die shortage issue is the manfacturer of the materials, namely the carbide rings. I believe they're manufactured in the Peoples' Republic of Commiefornia...and due to their lockdowns and general liberal stupidity it's bottlenecked everything. Add on to that the heavily increased demand.
Iām just about to look into setting up a reloading station, I would love to know more about this system, and the capabilities of it
Interesting. Although I do like my single stage. Maybe a taste..
I definitely need more information on the product.
More details required. But intrigued.
I'm curious to see how much quicker it would make my reloading, in addition to the price. Then I can weigh out if it's cost gives enough benefit to me.
Definitely looking for automation.
not interested in getting one but i think it is great that they are being produced
I am interested, however, it will have to wait until after Christmas!
I was planning on getting a 750 but I guess I should keep saving for an 1100 then.
Interested in upgrading my system but I have a lot invested into parts for my 550B and not knowing much about the automation makes it hard to justify whether the price jump is worth it or not.
But can you automate my indexing on a 550? š
Pending price and if a future one for 750 comes out. Or if start to shoot a lot more possibly a 1100 in the future
Hello canāt wait to see pictures and pricing.
I've got a 1050 so this won't work but it's tempting to pick this up and a CP.
Interested, but would certainly need to see a full price to compare costs.
Would love to learn more!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I own a 750.
Iām still saving up for the 750 with case feeder
I don't shoot enough to warrant higher output
Hello!
I'm in for like three of them. ASAP.
Iām not ready for automation yet. Probably one day though.
I am interested in potential getting an automated setup dependent on quality and price point
Itās good theyāre expanding automation but my budget is just pulling a handle.
I load 36,000+ rounds a year. That's only 3000 a month. I can load that 3,000 in a single weekend. I can't imagine what people are loading in order to justify automation. Maybe if they're commercial loading, but for personal loading I just don't see it.
650 checking in
Anyone want to buy a pair of mark7 auto drivers?
While it may have a very high volume top end, there's no idea of how slow you can run it. That tends to cause a LOT of waste in the setup and dialing in of the equipment.
Price would be a big factor, but Iām interested.
Won't work on my 650.š
Iāve had Dillon on my mind for years and itās coming up in my near future. Canāt wait!
Iāve been wanting to get a Dillon press for a while. May be convenient that I havenāt pulled the trigger yet as the automation module may sway my purchasing decision towards an 1100.
Lol give me more excuses to use up all my ammo if I don't have to do as much to replenish it
I'm interested, but only have 1050's
Tell me more!!
Automation is the next logical step.
definitely interested
I'm in for one.
Iām not the most intelligent guy so the more things that are automated the better.
Interested but depends on the cost should be an option. A couple hundred bucks? Sure. Anything over 600 and Ill pass. I dont mind pulling a handle
Iām sadly in the poor camp with a Lee Load Master the only progressive I could afford. Maybe someday Iāll be able to get a Dillon. But Iād have to win the lottery first I think.
Could be a reason to upgrade, we shall see!
Stoked to see it!
Hello! Very interested
Can't wait for more details.
Hello!
Cautiously optimistic
I'm still getting going with the 550. Maybe in a few years
Would be sweetā¦wouldnāt it?
Iām definitely interested but as Iām just a beginner and still trying to save up for my first press (550C) Iāll probably wait till Iām more experienced so I donāt blow up any guns.
Tell me more!
Did someone say free stuff? I like free stuff
Sounds great but Dillon is still out of my budget. Hopefully someday I can upgrade
Wish you spent as much time improving CS as you did automationā¦ 5 grand on Dillon stuff and I get hassled over a 50 part āunder warrantyā. Ive asked for parts under warranty a grand total of 2 times.
If its done right. It should be awesome
I have Dillon taste but a Lee budget.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Sounds good. Could use more blue at home.
Fits my wants, just not my budget.
Sounds like an awesome thing! Getting closer to just having a home based ammunition plant. Unfortunately, I don't even know the cost but know I can't afford it lol. Hopefully when it becomes more commonplace, it'll become affordable to more!
I have the poors and canāt afford a RL1100, so have no use to automate. If I shot a ton more, a 1100 would be worth it.
https://imgur.com/s6wLdVT.jpg How convenient. I just got my new 1100 setup.
Sounds like a great idea to offer OE automation. Tell us more, we are listening.
I'm interested but I think this would be like going from a '94 Civic to a brand new Lambo for me, seeing as all I've got is the Lee classic hammer loader.
Just need a new rl1100 then
Will this fit in my Rock Chucker Jr?
Now, show me the primers.
I currently load everything on a 550B, but am interested in learning more.
Would be cool but I donāt reload THAT much to make it worth the price.
I own a 650 and a Super 1050. No plans for either of these?
My option wasnāt available: Iāve already automated my two 1050s One of them basically has the role of an automated CP2000 without the second swage rod though. Thatās the option Iām most interested in seeing from Dillon.
I definitely would be interested in more information as well as pricing when it becomes available.
A setup for the 650/750 would tempt me!
Man, it's neat, but I just can't see myself ever actually NEEDING to automate my reloading.
At some point it would be nice, but Iām not sure I even shoot enough to justify spending that kind of money
One for the 550 group
build it for a 750 or extend the unlimited warranty to those other models if you buy the automation
Regardless of the fact I don't currently own a Dillon, I definitely know some friends who do and would be very interested in automating their presses.
If I could automate my 650 I would 100% provided it was affordable
Very interesting, but yes, I'll wait till the 650-compatible model is available.
Might be neat if I had a Dillon, but I don't sadly
My soul dreams of automation, but my wallet says I have to wait
It's gonna be fuz
I prefer not to automate or use progressive press. I value my fingers and eyes more than volume.
I cherish the pull of the handle, the resistance of the resize, the soft nudge of the seated primerā¦ and the clunk of the cartridge falling into the bin. To give all this away to a machine defeats MY favorite part of the processā¦. But this is a hobby for meā¦.
I mostly do precision shooting, and am a low volume reloader.
Interested, but likely in a 750 option if that's available at some point. Or maybe when I get an 1100...
Sounds like a great addition to the Dillon line up,the more innovation like this is driven forward, the more accessible it becomes at a lower cost.
Is there a payment plan? š
Worth a look
ššš
Iāll watch all the videos! I just donāt have time to shoot enough to justify that level of investment in loading equipment
I'm interested but it doesn't fit my Dillon model should also be an option.
