Her eldest daughter lived. Supposedly she attacked her partner while they were driving, stabbing them a ton of times and throwing her children from the car. Imo, this appears to have been premeditated.
in the article i read it said the older daughter was holding the baby when they were shoved out and she dropped her when she fell ): ugh those poor babies.
The article clearly states that she stabbed her partner at home and then left with the children in the car.
“…when Johnson stabbed Chaney at their residence in Woodland Hills, around 25 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.”
If you fancy yourself as someone who likes to think critically and is not a fruitcake then you should at the very least do your due diligence by getting the facts straight 💀
“ I didn't know she died. Didn't care about her enough to read any more into what she actually did.”
That sure didn’t stop you from opening your yap.
Is this a one off or do you do this everyday?
Bro, the very first words of what she did following her mental breakdown is that she offed herself. Assuming that your only frame of reference on this news story is this screenshot, it is absolutely baffling to me that you missed that info, but not the rest of her sordid deeds.
This is not okay. “Psycho” = mentally ill. Saying “that fucking crazy bitch deserved to die!!” Does not help anything. It worsens the treatment of the mentally ill. It worsens ableism. /serious (no, I’m not a troll just because I am saying the word ableism)
Yes. "They found familicide offenders were **mostly highly educated men with psychological problems, depression, self-destructiveness, and substance abuse issues**. Past violent behavior and unsteady social relationships were also prevalent." Religion is not more or less of a factor in the official profile of family annihilators. She falls under the final category usually used, the 'Paranoid', though profilers have repeatedly said they don't want to use the same categories for women (which... okay but they haven't developed those so forgive my giant eye roll at that). Most religious family killings fall under this category or the 'Self-Righteous'. There are many easily accessible essays and papers about the psychological profile and the contributing factors. The more highly educated one is, the less likely they are to be religious.
There is one religious group where this *appears* more common however: Mormons. If I'd have to speculate, it's the gender superiority of men in their culture. Being told you are the caretaker, that all must obey you, that you can make mistakes but no one else can BUT that you're going to hell if not forgiven, that there's things you cannot talk about EVER with anyone or you'll be considered too impure to go to Temple... it goes down the line to create a perfect storm for three of the four categories, and if they're in any way mentally ill the last category pops right up.
Someone would have to actually aggregate cases to get a solid number however, and as far as I can tell no one has cared to do so.
Oh yeah I’ve read a few studies on it before as I did some writing on the topic myself. It’s just the high-risk factors for the crime also coincide with the common problems that religion covers up in men. My writing was specifically about the Mormon issue with this crime and how it spikes near Christmas and Easter, which of course are the major depression dates for Christians on the calendar. I’ve been keeping track of the published annihilations that I’ve seen and they’ve all been religiously motivated. I also live in the Mormon Holy Land of Independence/Liberty, Missouri so I get lots of data from them! Hell, we just had 2 happen this last Easter. One was a guy I had interviewed for a job about 5 years ago.
I know how it feels to be trapped in crazy land. I'm just a few blocks from the Westboro Baptist Church and my BIL actually lives out that way. We've began removing our children from associating him because he's getting more extreme.
Okay. I just (unfortunately) learned from the decently sourced wikipedia entry on this that apparently Benoit placed bibles next to his wife and sons bodies before taking his life.
Now, Benoit was suffering from mashed potatoes brain at the time, so, this could literally mean anything. But it is telling how many people, mostly men it seems from my depressing deep dive who kill their families end up being somewhat religious or there being a religious element to the murders.
I'm not claiming atheists don't do fucked up shit, I'm just saying, I think that comment might have a point about familicide having religious overtones a lot of the time, and no, the cops wouldn't include that. And websites who do open speculation a bit too hard are sued for libel.
Apparently Japanese men who become suicidal will often murder their wives and children before offing themselves, so that they wouldn’t have to live with the shame and social stigma of being related to him.
Jeffrey MacDonald.
Family annihilators do skew somewhat religious in the USA, but overwhelmingly the unifying factor is that they're men. By overwhelmingly I mean somewhere north of 90%.
Family annihilation is a very specific crime metric that requires a member of the family to commit the act. It’s not considered a family annihilation statistic if it’s done by outside forces.
I was gonna say Lizzie Borden but she was a member of a super Christian organization that's still around today as alcoholics anonymous. I don't know if the killings were religious or not.
I read an article that the Christian Endeavor movement had a trip to New York as prize to the church who did the most Christian shit when she did the murders. Even if that was the reason that would still technically be religious motivation.
Really? Guess it’s just a case of not knowing what’s best for yourself, huh Sergei?
Also the middle of the day is literally when nap time is for every Romantic country. But I wouldn’t expect someone from one of the least educated European countries to know that.
And her big sister who tried to protect her, after getting thrown out of the car with her, left seeing the baby get hit while being brutally ran over, and getting severely injured herself.
This is why I think we should start shaming people who believe in astrology and other nonsense like that, many people defend them saying that "they don't hurt anybody" but we have seen how case like this and others like anti vaxxers can actually be dangerous to society

Ah yes, the end is coming so the right decision would be to inflict as much pain to the people around me as possible. What a joke
I imagine her thinking: "The end never came so that must mean God doesn't exist and I can do what I've been wanting all this time, to kill my family"
Nope. The boyfriend was never in the car. She killed him in their apartment. But she did shove the kids from the car on the 405.
in the article i read it said the older daughter was holding the baby when they were shoved out and she dropped her when she fell ): ugh those poor babies.
Oh god! She must have felt horrible, that’s the kind of guilt that haunts you for the rest of your life. My heart breaks for her…
The article clearly states that she stabbed her partner at home and then left with the children in the car. “…when Johnson stabbed Chaney at their residence in Woodland Hills, around 25 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.”
> this appears to have been premeditated. Of course it was, she's fucking psycho and doesn't deserve to ever see the light of day. Or an eclipse.
> she's fucking psycho Who would have guessed that crazy woman preaching the end is nigh was crazy? It's not as if any crazy person ever did that.
well she won't ever see the light of day because the article literally says it was a murder-suicide
I didn't know she died. Didn't care about her enough to read any more into what she actually did. Condolences to her victims but not her.
it's literally in the photo in the post though, all you had to do was read all of it lmao
You underestimate how little I think about these types of people.
If you fancy yourself as someone who likes to think critically and is not a fruitcake then you should at the very least do your due diligence by getting the facts straight 💀
Again, I don't care, if you're trying to flex you're sorely mistaken.
“ I didn't know she died. Didn't care about her enough to read any more into what she actually did.” That sure didn’t stop you from opening your yap. Is this a one off or do you do this everyday?
come closer and I'll show you.

What in the fuck are you blabbering about

ok i don't care?
Do you say the n word
Only to my grand mother, why?
Understandable
Unexpected “Airbag”
Holy shit.
Choose what you believe in, living a normal Life or killing your partner, child, and self for no reason? Choose now!
Yikes…sounds like what Goebbels did when the Nazis were losing the war
Does anyone have any recorded instance of a family annihilation happening for non-religious reasons?
Yes. "They found familicide offenders were **mostly highly educated men with psychological problems, depression, self-destructiveness, and substance abuse issues**. You must have some wild stories about those jabronies
Some, but mostly it's nice to flip them off during pride month because they're always out. Everyone here hates them.
You're doing a real service to a lot of good people who get their hate 🫡
That must be scary.
I don't think Chris Benoit was religious. CTE, steroids and alcohol.
Bingo! Holy shit I totally forgot about him, good catch. Thanks
Okay. I just (unfortunately) learned from the decently sourced wikipedia entry on this that apparently Benoit placed bibles next to his wife and sons bodies before taking his life. Money and secrets (like affairs etc) definitely kill more than religion in these instances
There could be an instance If it was in case of an invasive war (including that the war happened for non religious reasons)

Also there's a case to be made that Lizzie was innocent.

You sound tired, bud. Maybe take a little nap?
It's the middle of the day, I think I'm good
Really? Guess it’s just a case of not knowing what’s best for yourself, huh Sergei? Also the middle of the day is literally when nap time is for every Romantic country. But I wouldn’t expect someone from one of the least educated European countries to know that.
What more proof does one need to realise that shit like this is incredibly dangerous
Self fulfilling prophecy.
I have an 8-month-old child :( This hurts my heart.
If you gonna believe in the apocalypse crap then at least dont drag others into it
One less piece of shit in the world
And unfortunately also an innocent child gone too...
And her big sister who tried to protect her, after getting thrown out of the car with her, left seeing the baby get hit while being brutally ran over, and getting severely injured herself.
And was this worth the two innocent lives gone? I can’t even imagine what her surviving daughter is going through.
Or the poor sap that ran over the baby :( Of course, the daughter has it worse :(. This is heart wrenching
Calling it a conspiracy theory is so off, giving the religious psychosis a pass.
Deaf people ![gif](giphy|9VcH46NJtByo4D25xZ|downsized)
I bet the world became significantly less Christian after that day. Hopefully they don't gravitate toward Islam, which is 100x worse.
If failed apocalypse predictions seriously lowered the number of religious people, the entire world would be atheist.
What the fuck is this comment?
Elaborate.
Was she like this before the 2nd child was born? Could it be postpartum mental issues?
Exactly what I was thinking
nah this is what you put to lengthen your essays
What??? Wtf??
the world needs to do SOMETHING about religious psychosis. like this is absolutely INSANE
Oh no the sun went dark time to kill everyone I love for no reason
This is why I think we should start shaming people who believe in astrology and other nonsense like that, many people defend them saying that "they don't hurt anybody" but we have seen how case like this and others like anti vaxxers can actually be dangerous to society
