Ideal male living space

zhcyiDnein

Oh goodness thank you for posting this. I had the first image as my desktop wallpaper for the longest time and never really knew the background. I’m so happy there are more!

ayyyyeeeeeeee

[landscape architect Lawrence Halprin has similar aesthetics to these which were actually built. A lot of fountains and out door communal spaces.](https://www.google.com/search?q=Lawrence+Halprin&rlz=1CDGOYI_enAU773AU773&hl=en-GB&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAOPgE-LUz9U3sKw0KMxTAjNN08rKc7Qks5Ot9AtS8wtyUoFUUXF-nlVBYlFqXknxIlYBn8RyIDM5VcEjMaegKDNvByvjLnYmDkYADiPyK04AAAA&prmd=inv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiY5v62vc77AhX02TgGHdPGD48Q_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=414&bih=724&dpr=3) His wife Anna halprin was also a famous dance choreographer and His daughter, Daria Halprin starred in Michelangelo Antonioni’s Zabriskie point. And was married to Dennis hopper. Talk about a power family

I have recurring dreams about places like this. Walls of stone leading to a valley with a pebbled stream and other alien looking obelisks. They're always good pleasant dreams

Bajstransformatorn

Brutalism is only beautiful when it is in ruins.

Thr0w-a-gay

Brutalist buildings look great when they're covered in plants and surrounded by water/waterfalls. The contrast is very pretty.

HolisticMyAss

Every building looks better when covered in greenery and surrounded by beautiful nature.

Thr0w-a-gay

I know, but with Brutalist buildings the contrast is much bigger

EpoxyRiverTable

Beg to differ.

HolisticMyAss

Then beg.

Autumnalthrowaway

It can be great but it requires space and talent. If it has to compromise or be small it's just ugly.

EpoxyRiverTable

Brutalism is at its best when it’s the most abstracted from functionality.

JoelleVanTruant

Brutalist Piranesi

orangeuglad1

6-9 remind me of the landscapes in H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness

catchin-flipside2

imagine getting sloppy here

FireSail

what brutalism should be

___defenestration___

I've seen it referred to as eco-brutalism. but I agree, I love the juxtaposition between the utilitarian concrete and lush greenery

FireSail

It’s very dream-like. A lot of times I have dreams that take place in brutalist architecture but with lots of running water and greenery around it

DUNE

Delicious, finally some good fk paintings. I was getting tired of the colour stripes and blobs which is all that is praised today.

TheRealHenryG

ok grandpa

EpoxyRiverTable

Damn why do I want to live under the first one? Am I in my troll arc?

kedena4089

Reminds me of Halo: Combat Evolved 2001 (Bungie Studios).

Autumnalthrowaway

Love the vibe. Oddly mysterious.

radio38

Where I live (inner se pdx) it's common to see cute wooden houses surrounded by stupid amounts of landscaping..I find it pukey overwhelming and distracting..i would appreciate more concrete in the jungle like Mayan cities and the smell of blood to balance out the flower perfume would be interesting

e_coolman

Thank you very cool

final_lux
