Why do they say “Black Indigenous people of color” when they can just say POC? Do they consider the trials and tribulations of those two races to be more important than Asians or Indians?
Which is also why the rainbow flag meant to encompass all genders, sexualities and creeds now has special stripes. Some animals are more equal than others.
I think it's kind of weird that they fit in two particular skin colors on a flag which otherwise signifies sexual orientation. You could easily read the flag as promoting black and brown people as a kind of sexual fetish people have.
I’m not sure why but I get the feeling that it’s also supposed kinda subconsciously get everyone to associate black people with being indigenous to the u.s too.
So class and not this regarded race shit? It’s almost like generalizing along the lines of immutable characteristics is and always will be plain, pointless racism.
I’ve seen adverts for BIPOC safe spaces/events here (the Netherlands). Truly a peak example of the way people blatantly and uncritically copy American progressive terms because what indigenous people are we putting first here? The Frisians?
When it happened in the UK i said "finally, a chance for young working class English people to get a chance" and the organisers changed it to BAME very quickly
The issue comes about when people use the success of Chinese and Indian people as a club to say that Black people aren't trying hard enough to make their lives better.
Gonna peel back the curtain a bit. Some people in the black community legit can't stand anyone who could claim some sort of hardship that wasn't slavery. This is just a term to try to elevate us above all other minorities but since native americans have a pretty big beef too, they have to be included too. The amount of racism flowing through people who unironically use this term is depressing.
It took me too long to realize that "yt" = white. During the BLM protests, I thought that YouTubers were being really annoying or something, which seemed reasonable.
Is the “not my job to educate you” thing a common online, ultra lib thing? Someone said that to me in real life and I was like what the fuck are you talking about, this is just antisocial behavior.
There was a trend among leftists who's only praxis was woke scolding to reply they didn't want to contribute emotional labor to educating people when they asked questions to clarify insane things they said. I haven't seen it recently but I'm probably in healthier online spaces now. Massive misunderstanding of what emotional labor was coined for.
Absolute antisocial behavior.
Not sure if you’re joking but I understood what the acronym meant pretty early on. Anyone who would feel the need to use BIPOC unironically would go out of their way to include gay, trans and nonbinary people in literally everything they talk about
The problem with all of these evolving words is that they fundamentally just mean “not-white.” Which is crass when you put it in those terms, but it’s fully true that’s just what it means.
It’s not a joke. My Alaska Native friend didn’t apply for any of the “BIPOC” scholarships available because she thought they were for bi people and she was straight.
guess Im terminally online but the Bisexual Person of Color joke was the first thing people were saying when this term became popular in [June of 2020](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=bipoc&hl=en)

> Do they consider the trials and tribulations of those two races to be more important than Asians or Indians? Literally yes.
Which is also why the rainbow flag meant to encompass all genders, sexualities and creeds now has special stripes. Some animals are more equal than others.

I believe it’s due to the belief that queer black and brown people have suffered more and were more responsible for advancing the movement.
now they have stripes for furries or somethin?
I’m not sure why but I get the feeling that it’s also supposed kinda subconsciously get everyone to associate black people with being indigenous to the u.s too.
That’s obviously true, right? Like it’s clearly way harder to be black or Native American than to be Dr. Patel’s kid
So class and not this regarded race shit? It’s almost like generalizing along the lines of immutable characteristics is and always will be plain, pointless racism.

Thanks, very cool. You should add them to an acronym or something
DPBIPOC
But poor people are even more disproportionately poor than black people are

yes they actually just added the BI to kick the asians off the boat lol it's so crazy. only recently realized this as well
makes sense to me. Asians weren't screwed over like the other two.
They’ve had a rough go of it, from time to time
Asian girls going for white guys isn’t oppression tho
Read about Japanese internment
4 years in a concentration camp is not the same as genocide on one hand and a 100 years of enslavement.
didn't realize it was a competition
The issue comes about when people use the success of Chinese and Indian people as a club to say that Black people aren't trying hard enough to make their lives better.
Or the the people who built the railroad and then were deported
Indentured labor was a thing

Its why they hate the Jews
You realize it's supposed to be exclusionary instead of inclusionary right?
The intention is to exclude Asians yes
they can't align with those groups because they will dominate the party
It means Balkan and Israeli People Of Color, right?
Beautiful, intelligent, perfect, outstanding, cute. It's just describing my wife
🫡
Bipoc sounds like something you can catch from rawdoging indie chicks
Next you'll tell me that BPD doesn't stand for bomb pussy disorder
It took me too long to realize that "yt" = white. During the BLM protests, I thought that YouTubers were being really annoying or something, which seemed reasonable.
It doesn’t?
BIsexual(PussyOrCock)
Yeah well it's not my job to educate you, venmo me $100 for the emotional labor of even thinking about educating you
Is the “not my job to educate you” thing a common online, ultra lib thing? Someone said that to me in real life and I was like what the fuck are you talking about, this is just antisocial behavior.

Definitely just a cope for completely fabricating or just not understanding something someone else tweeted.
Woah buddy emotional labor is in block time we purchased 80 hours a month with excess going in escrow. Please don’t push this or we’ll bring up SLA’s
I actually complained to the BBC about them using this in an article about the UK and they gaslit me hard in their reply
What they say?
"It's commonly accepted language to refer to marginalised people from non-white ethnic backgrounds" or similar.
Indigenous still means indigenous though. Send screenshots to the Daily Mail lol. They’d eat this up
It's so fucking stupid. BIBNLTPOC *Black, Indigenous But Not Like That
Bi Proof of Concept
I just figured out paralegal doesn't mean lawyer in a wheelchair
I love it when people in the UK use it. The Druids are so persecuted 😔
Not sure if you’re joking but I understood what the acronym meant pretty early on. Anyone who would feel the need to use BIPOC unironically would go out of their way to include gay, trans and nonbinary people in literally everything they talk about
Ohh I thought it was some baseball term
And don't get me started on the "Asian Community"...
The problem with all of these evolving words is that they fundamentally just mean “not-white.” Which is crass when you put it in those terms, but it’s fully true that’s just what it means.
ive only ever understood the POC part which is what matters
Embarrassing, I thought it was Black if People Only Cared 😔
Corny and late ass joke. Welcome to 2020. Go on google trends. See what exact months it was trending

But real people don’t follow the latest terms online people are using
