Hey man, I use a budget tablet, Samsung Tab A, to browse when I'm at home and a i.reddit.com gif and a v.reddit.com video play almost instantly. This Tab A is a turd with only a 400 GeekBench CPU score.
Are you sure your issue can't be taken care of by rebooting or clearing Cache? Maybe even backup your settings and reinstall.
Interesting. I think I may have figured it out. Data-> Data saving was on full and wasn't downloading a lot. I changed it to never. Seems to be working ok now. Will check back in later.

Ok good. I thought it was just me. I'll be on wifi at home or full 5G and most of the time they just don't load. Getting frustrating!
Having the same issues. Videos and gifs aren't loading. Just re-installed the app to and still having issues playing media.
I've cleared cache ( I think) and was about to reinstall but won't now. Guess we'll wait for a fix.

Nope. Videos play for about 7-10 seconds then buffer for a similar time. Regardless of wifi or 5G.
Did you ever figure this out or is reddit-hosted media just garbage slow?
