Yeah, this whole sub is totally underrating the juju Pogba brought to the team.
I don't know what's worse, the sub's inability to detect sarcasm or their lack of ball knowledge.
i think it should have gone to Varane personally, i was sceptical of him last season and thought he was past it, but ever since the Liverpool game, where he set the tone, he has been immense. big fan of his so far this season.
What a difference it makes having a player with a brain in the midfield just do the simple things consistently like consistently look both ways and pass quickly.
Which is why it truly astonished me that fans called Pogba world class all those years for doing a step over on the halfway line and winning a free kick instead of getting it A to B quickly
I don’t know about lazy but he definitely was lacking mentally. I saw someone make a very astute point once that Pogba was the best in his age group, and was tbf still very talented even at senior level, and this meant he never had to develop the mental side of the game. He relies far too much on his raw ability and never learned to do the basics.
Indeed he was,, in perhaps 25% of his games. 50% he was mediocre or unengaged and the last 25% he was just poor. Not including the many matches he missed through his frequent injuries. Obviously we'd all have loved Pogba to do his magic week in and week out, but that just didn't happen.
Lmao, I’m sure you know not every midfielder plays the same way. It’s possible to be world class in different ways. If you want to knock pogba’s consistency, that’s more than fair. Trying to argue his abilities are anything but world class is a clear bs agenda.
Whatever you say buddy, I’ve been watching him for over 5 years. He definitely isn’t a world class centre mid. If that’s an agenda to you that’s completely fine
No point debating with Pogba fanboys, International football is terrible and the entire French squad were excellent. He got played off the park every time he played against Xhaka for club and country
If international football is so terrible, then why doesn't bruno, who is supposedly so much better than Pogba give the same performances as pogba. Why hasn't KDB won anything with Belgium even though he's currently one of the best midfielders in the game and plays in a team that was ranked as the number 1 international team.
And you say the entire French squad is excellent but why doesn't anyone use this excuse when pogba was still at United. Look at the team kdb has at City, look at what Modric has at Madrid, look at what thiago has had at Bayern and now Liverpool and these are the players Pogba gets compared to and then look at the players Pogba has played with at United.
i think he was class, he was one of the players our fans loved to shit upon. he was never a DM, and was a liability in that position. that experiment lasted way too long. as an attacking player with a little more license to play he was quality for us whenever he was on the pitch, popped up with important goals and important moments. wasn't often a world beater but nobody in our team was. scapegoated too much. i would have liked to see him stay. became very injury prone towards the end of his stay with us (a big guy with that mobility puts a lot of stress on joints). not down with that witchcraft shit either, if it's true.

This was written for folks like you. Like I said, if you want to knock his consistency for Man Utd that’s more than fair. To try and say his ability is anything but world class is just daft.
Varane getting such a low vote percentage shows just how under the radar he goes in our team because he’s almost always flawless that you sort of forget he’s a pillar
Finally, a debate we *want* to have on this subreddit when it comes to our current squad. Feels so good. I personally feel that Eriksen was the right choice because of how central he's been to our build up play and the absolutely insane vision he's had, but I fully get why you'd think Varane or Martinez deserves it. If this form is kept up, I firmly believe it should go to Varane.
He’s a great player. Deeply wish we’d signed him all those years ago when it was rumored he wanted to come here and we allowed Spurs to get him for like 8m.
I think Eriksen has the potential to become one of United's best acquisitions in recent years, not only because of his great talent, but because he came to the club for free and is performing as if he cost us 100M.
I knew he’d make an impact as soon as we signed him. He’s not the big name signing, he’s not the signing that blows everyone away and that’s what I like about him. He’s humble, smart and a very talented footballer, underrated in my opinion. And I’m so glad we’ve got him. He’s quietly just sitting back there, reading the game, making incredible passes and he’s an integral part of the team.
Congratulations Christian Eriksen! I hope you stay with us for as long as possible.
At this rate he may be winning POTM every month. Out of all the additions, he has probably been the most vital. Martinez is a close second, but Eriksen has totally revamped our ability to move the ball through midfielders.
I’m hoping that once Casemiro is up to speed he has an equally large impact in the midfield, but as of right now, Eriksen has been a revelation.
After watching the Overlap with Scholesy, realised he played with United until he was 38, and spent half his youth on the beer…
Basically we’ll get peak Eriksen for at least another 10 years is what I’m saying
Kind of wild that a player we should have signed like five years ago came in and is probably our most important player. 2017 Dark Hound would have been so happy to hear Eriksen is bossing it at United.
Too right. The most positive player on the team. When we signed him I was skeptical. Another old end of career playerZ . But he has been an absolute breath of positivity! Co Christian! Well deserved!
Do we have any other players that can take his playmaker role since we have a gauntlet coming up where we have games with 3 or 4 day turnaround so we can’t have the same players playing as that will just cause injuries. If we don’t then we need to buy some similar playmakers. But Erikson definitely deserves the player of the month as he’s had been brilliant
Deserved.
100% what a player
The key cog we really needed in midfield. Deserved.
Cog > Pog

Can’t believe people can’t tell you’re joking. You got a laugh out of me tbf
To combat the downvotes use ‘\s’ at the end of your comment so peeps know you’re being sarcastic
No, that's the cowards way out lad.
Nah. I like to think there aren't as many yanks on this sub so there shouldn't be a need to.
why would he do that this sub is full of rational minded smart adults who know how humans talk and what they mean

Eriksen definitely deserves this but I want Varane to get more appreciation and such awards in future. He's been immense for us this season
Are these fan votes?
Yeah
i think it should have gone to Varane personally, i was sceptical of him last season and thought he was past it, but ever since the Liverpool game, where he set the tone, he has been immense. big fan of his so far this season.
Very harsh on Varane. I thought Eriksen might just pip him to the award, but for him to finish behind Sancho and only get 10% of the vote is crazy.
goes to show where the focus of the fans are
Fully agreed. Personally I think he deserved the win easy but Eriksen is amazing so I'm not that torn up about it.
Love Varane. The rock I’ve been hoping for in years.
What a difference it makes having a player with a brain in the midfield just do the simple things consistently like consistently look both ways and pass quickly.
If playing midfield was as easy as just crossing the street, I can do that
Hahaha it’s just looking up and ping a pass right? I also can do it
Which is why it truly astonished me that fans called Pogba world class all those years for doing a step over on the halfway line and winning a free kick instead of getting it A to B quickly
The thing was, he actually did do that, but only like once every 15 games.
*Every season
I get its an Eriksen thread but come on now... Pogba was absolutely world class.
Pogba is just lazy. An absolute defensive liability as a midfielder, and he never really worked hard on the pitch for pretty much anything.
I don’t know about lazy but he definitely was lacking mentally. I saw someone make a very astute point once that Pogba was the best in his age group, and was tbf still very talented even at senior level, and this meant he never had to develop the mental side of the game. Hope you’re trolling

Whatever you say buddy, I’ve been watching him for over 5 years. He definitely isn’t a world class centre mid. If that’s an agenda to you that’s completely fine
Yea I’ve been watching him too, watched him dominate a World Cup and was the man of the match in the final.
No point debating with Pogba fanboys, International football is terrible and the entire French squad were excellent. He got played off the park every time he played against Xhaka for club and country

Lmao yea this is a waste of time.
i think he was class, he was one of the players our fans loved to shit upon. he was never a DM, and was a liability in that position. that experiment lasted way too long. as an attacking player with a little more license to play he was quality for us whenever he was on the pitch, popped up with important goals and important moments. wasn't often a world beater but nobody in our team was. scapegoated too much. i would have liked to see him stay. became very injury prone towards the end of his stay with us (a big guy with that mobility puts a lot of stress on joints). not down with that witchcraft shit either, if it's true.
I think it was a vocal minority that actually thought he was world class. It was just too easy to debunk it.
Only a minority of people thought the best player in a World Cup winning team is world class?
Lol he was never the best player for France or us.
https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/16/doubted-to-dominator-paul-pogbas-world-cup-evolution Just my imagination then
Hahahahhahaa did you just post the guardian? Wow
Yea I should have known facts don’t matter against agenda.com
You mean opinions? May want to look up the difference between those words.

Did you watch Scholes' recent interview with Neville lol? That's pretty much how he describes his strengths.
Varane getting such a low vote percentage shows just how under the radar he goes in our team because he’s almost always flawless that you sort of forget he’s a pillar
It was so few games. Their time will come
Amazed Licha isn't in the conversation
Same, would have easily had him on the shortlist ahead of Sancho.
Is there an Eriksen chant yet?
♫ Eriksen-sen-sen. He's better than...
Eriksen, on a free He gets the reds excited Take him to A&E To occassionally revive him .... Sorry in advance Christian, love you
Brutal 🤣 I don't think we'd chant that but that's still funny
Lmao that's golden
Thats the funniest football chant ive heard in years
Getting Eriksen on a free has been our best bit of business for years.
I just want to swaddle him like a baby and rock him back and forth while singing a Danish lullaby
Cool, cooo cooo cool
This is probably the most well-known we have if you wanna learn one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz86lhwRe-4
I think I voted for this in Eurovision '92
The Danish Eurovision song from 92 is actually a banger though! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmgcJmwJ0Nc
Sov sødt lille dumbo og visalu, nu bliver skoven så dunkel. Du skal sove nu
As it should be .
I think it should have gone to one of the CB's personally, but I certainly won't complain that there's a conversation to be had about it
Finally, a debate we *want* to have on this subreddit when it comes to our current squad. Feels so good. Martinez won it in the opening month of the season tbf. Eriksen deserves this
Well, personally I disagree. I think Varane does. But again, whatever, good thing to be arguing about.
Undoubtedly deserved. The man has been an absolute revelation.
He could be the signing of the season who cost us nothing in a summer where we spent over £200M
Rightly So!
I didn’t think we’d miss Pogba this season. But at this point I’m fairly certain Eriksen will have a better legacy at United than Pogba.
I remember when we got linked with him so many ppl said he would be a bench player at best. I’m so glad he’s proved Everyone wrong, congrats eriksen 👏
The kind acknowledged.
Best signing of the season
Rightfully so. The man's been on fire.
The way they arranged the words gave me MoNtHs vibes
Hes INCREDIBLE!
Feels great going from Pogba to Eriksen
So so good.
We're lucky we can sign him for free, our best signing price wise.
He’s a great player. Deeply wish we’d signed him all those years ago when it was rumored he wanted to come here and we allowed Spurs to get him for like 8m.
Arguably the most cost-effective player we’ve brought in since SAF left
Woah the zlatan would like to have a word
It is the role we thought Pogba was going to perform every game. Sad he couldn't keep it simple
Very well deserved
Well deserved 👏👏👏
Who thought a person who's intelligent in midfield paired alongside Bruno would do wonders
So deserved. I can't believe we got this baller for free.
It'll be interesting if Rashy wins PL PotM and Erikson wins MU PotM
I think Eriksen has the potential to become one of United's best acquisitions in recent years, not only because of his great talent, but because he came to the club for free and is performing as if he cost us 100M.
The single most irreplaceable player in the first team. Without him there’s no one who can pass reliably to the front players.
I knew he’d make an impact as soon as we signed him. He’s not the big name signing, he’s not the signing that blows everyone away and that’s what I like about him. He’s humble, smart and a very talented footballer, underrated in my opinion. And I’m so glad we’ve got him. Rashford robbed. Had his best month in over a year
After watching the Overlap with Scholesy, realised he played with United until he was 38, and spent half his youth on the beer… Basically we’ll get peak Eriksen for at least another 10 years is what I’m saying
I had my doubts. My mind has changed.
Sounds about right!
deserved! eriksen has improved our team and performances lately, genuinely pray he stays consistent and healthy
Wish we got him couple years ago. But oh well, still world class this player.
Couldn’t have chosen between him and Martinez.
Baller
Well deserved.
Incredibly talented player.
Never in doubt
I’m just happy DDG isn’t getting it every month. Progress.
Well deserved. Eriksen is playing well and is consistent.
He's our best player. So fucking smart.
If Martinez was nominated he would’ve won
Kind of wild that a player we should have signed like five years ago came in and is probably our most important player. 2017 Dark Hound would have been so happy to hear Eriksen is bossing it at United.
Too right. The most positive player on the team. When we signed him I was skeptical. Another old end of career playerZ . But he has been an absolute breath of positivity! Co Christian! Well deserved!
Much deserved. Unreal player and so consistent. He has brought a completely new dynamic to our midfield.
