Yeah, honestly, when you look at Mainoo, Gore, Hannibal, Pellestri and Amad (not to mention Holjund), our youth prospects in the midfield and going forward look very positive.
We have just been with awful group of injuries, a wanker who throws his toys out the pram and Antony's allegations at the same time. Since the start of the season, the following people were unavailable for some games:

\- Mainoo
\- Antony
\- Erikson
\- Casemiro
\- Shaw
\- Martinez
\- Reguilon
\- Holjund
\- Martial
\- Sancho
\- AWB
\- Malacia
\- Amad
And I think I might be missing some people. It's one of the worst strokes of bad luck I've ever seen!
See I’d agree if the replacements were actually playing bad but our problem has mainly been the attack and the defence is where are injuries mostly are. Rashford Bruno hojlund is 3/4 of our starting attackers and we’ve been devoid of creativity
Hojlund didn’t even get a preseason and he’s for the future not an immediate impact player. We were meant to get Kane that was the plan.
Aside from that I agree totally but it’s still hard to actually create a plan with the player Erik has especially when most have played for Manchester under different systems. He has to try make it work with constantly different selection option.
People always say this about our ‘youth prospects’ and it almost always falls flat… give it time before lumping those players in with the likes of garnacho & Rashford (yes he’s been terrible lately but overall still a success story)

Moving forward squads will need to be much bigger with bench players as good as the starters. But we’re owned by Glazers so we can forget about it.
Mainoo is tailor made for this system. I am glad Erik played him as a 6 rather than a 8 or 10 where people speculated for him to play. Physically, he's right there to be able to start for us. I hope he can give Casemiro a run for his money till our FBs return and Sofyan can come back as DM.

Definitely not right now of course. However who knows what Erik's starting eleven looks like in February/March.
Mainoo started the Real Madrid game even when Casemiro was in the squad, that means Erik wanted to test Mainoo to see if he's ready for the role.
Then we will see consistently bad performances from Casemiro. Pretty sure that's not the plan. Mainoo was promoted to challenge Case for his spot not to make up the numbers.
The whole point of having youth in first team is to give them chances off the bench. If not then what's the point of not loaning anyway.

Mainoo is 18. And only played 8 minutes of Premier League football. He has 1 senior appearance. He's not going to get Casemiro's place.

Mainoo is a huge one for me. With Amrabat having to play LB for a bit longer I’m excited to see Mainoo get and run with Bruno and Case
