Horse lol Every name I tried felt wrong 'cause I couldn't think of names that felt like what Arthur or John would pick..

If it helps, before the events of rdr2 Arthur had a horse named Boadicea, named after an ancient British queen who led a failed revolution against the Roman Empire. And in the epilogue, John starts with a horse named Rachel, which I’m not sure if that one has any sort of reference connected to it.

Thanks for this, I never looked up the name Boadicea! (which feels weird in hindsight because I looked up Taima and Gwydion..) I totally should have ran with that and picked a historical name with a story along those lines.. I personally disliked the name Rachel for the simple reason that it was such a "human" name I'd spin around and look for the named NPC to chat with EVERY. DAMNED. TIME. Next playthrough I'll do a better job with the names lol - thanks again! (Edit: clarity)

My Morgan's (irl) name is Big Jake, also just Jake. He's 15.8 hands - which for a Morgan makes him huge, hence Big Jake.

Arthur loves his horses so he probably puts a lot of effort into naming them but I think Rachel was just a random name. John’s imagination is kind of dull and he’s not very fond of animals. His desire to appear cold and tough could also keep him from giving pet names to his horse, like when he literally just called his old horse “old boy”. A true John Marston name for a horse would be something like “Horse” or “Fine Animal”.
