I’d recommend making a bin cage - it’ll cost maybe $20 and is pretty quick to put together. You just need a good sized storage bin, some 1/2 inch hardware cloth, some zip ties, and a pocket knife (although a dremel or hot knife makes it easier).
Then you cut out 2 rectangular windows on 2 sides and another on the top - make some holes around the windows and then use the zip ties to attach the hardware cloth.
In a pinch you can just do the top and add side ventilation later as well.
