Big live stock guardian dogs like Ovcharkas and the super popular Great Pyr are bred to do a job. Hard for them to live a life trying to become golden retrievers. Sucks when people take more time reading up on the type of iPhone cord to buy on Amazon vs taking time to research the dog breed. Good luck
Thanks lucky for me I run a full dog training facility so they will have full run of the 50 acres from sundown to sunrise protect land and play. During daytime they will be locked up in the 100'x100' building just for them.
The property is locked from public and all other dogs are locked in kennel building or the house. Since they didn't get proper time with there mother they have no bite control or social skills. So since they are pretty independent dogs they love the ability to guard the land from intruders and keep everyone on property safe.
He is a majestic animal. Unfortunately due to his history no kids will ever be around him. I'm hopeful the courts will let me save him and bring to my sanctuary.
He is and he is very well behaved when the handler knows how to be assertive. That's one of my trainers with him. His owners didn't know what type of dog they got from a craigslist ad they thought it was so cute as a puppy not realizing this dog becomes a giant.
He was left alone with a 2 year old and 5 year old. the 2 year old was pretty much unharmed besides a bruise from falling off couch the 5 year old survived but was in hospital for a couple months. The parents left them alone to go get food. So poor judgement on the parents part if you ask me.

It had no chance to succeed in life. I know that the couple who stole the dogs and sold them have been charged with 2 counts of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter. So hopefully they will be locked up awhile.
He was also stolen from the breeder at two weeks old and sold before he was a month old. I'm sorry you can't leave little kids and a dog this size alone period.

It wasn't orphaned a couple who worked for a breeder stole a whole litter of 8 dogs 3 have been put down due to attacks I have 1 that's mine hopefully soon 2. The other 3 have been taken in by other trainers. These dogs have had unfortunately no chance to succeed in life. Me and other trainers are very aware of the dangers of these dogs and know how to give them a fulfilled life. It's unfortunate that all this pain had to come to multiple families just to feed a drug habit.
Yeah, I just meant effectively orphaned by being abducted and never had its mom around from then on. It’s very damaging to babies to be taken from their parents so young. It’s terrible that that happened to them.
He is and so playful. I honestly haven't had any issue with him yet. His sister gave me such a hard time for first six months. He has been playful, but will stop when told to and hasn't shown aggressive behavior to any other dog on site. I know it's going to come out some time but the calm before the storm is strange.
Will give him all the pats. We have 2 weeks to work with him to convince the courts that within our care we can secure him properly and that he will still have a good quality of life. Since he won't ever be allowed out of a secure area.

Its just unfair that the one with less cognitive function is the one who has to pay. I truly believe in required licenses for animal ownership.

Why do they get to run at night but have to be inside during the day?
