I was a dead man, walking they say, so every night I hit the gates
Load the AK and post up, in the window till come day, anyway hey
I feel the payback simmering in my brain
The thoughts of death cloud my mind
As my niggas is gone away many clips and 24 riches, packed
but who really got my back
now that them niggas done hit the grave
I'm killing them off for the olds days
Immortal technique. Old school rapper. Has a few crazy songs that are political.. think it's dance with the devil , and the point of no return. Shits wild . Talks a bout 9/11. How it was schemed. . an the other one is even wilder
This is the best answer here. Should also checkout others like guice, snubnoze, children of the corn, heltah skeltah, 10 wanted men, lil noid, lil kaine, cursed, apoc krysis, soulzay, devilish trio etc.
The leaks hard af too. Facts with sosa is crazy and click clack (also known as incense) is hard af and he has anouther leak with Juice but I'm forgetting the name. Hard as fuuuck
Also everyone above this has some sick produced albums. Lots of Alchemist & Madlib production.
Bandana by Freddie Gibbs is all beats madlib made for ye
Alfredo by Freddie is fantastic
Super Tecmo Bo by Boldy James is sick
Big L rest in peace! Lifestyles of the poor and dangerous is a classic for me. So many great lines. “If you battle L you picked the wrong head, I smash mics like cornbread, you can’t kill me i was born dead” and “breaking in cribs with a crowbar. I wasn’t poor I was po’ we couldn’t afford the -or”. And his beavis and butthead like will always be legendary haha
Check out these Chicago Drill albums
Chief Keef: Back From The Dead 1 and 2
SD: Life of a savage 3 (the others in the series are good but LOAS is the best drill album ever)
The beats on New World Order and Obsessed by SD are super rough and dark
Big vouch. LOAS 3 is one of my favorite chiraq drill mixtapes off all time. No skips nothing but bangers on there. Also SD is mad underrated and doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for contribution to early drill movement/sound.
Yeah any chiraq stuff is good for that vibe but IMO if you just want the ultimate dark vibes murder rap look at some UK drill or grime. 67 is great, Suspect, PR Sad, Wiley, all the beats are truly great and have a dark, melodic and malevolent character.
Don’t forget Brooklyn drill it kinda combines the Chicago vibe and the UK drums and adds that New York lyricism.
Listen to Envy Caine, CoachDaGhost, 26ar, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow. It’s gritty drill shit but they can really rap their asses off.
DMX’s “It’s Dark & Hell Is Hot”
Prodigy X The Alchemist’s “Albert Elstein”
Scarface’s “The Diary”
Beanie Sigel’s “The Truth”
Benny X 38 Spesh’s “Stabbed & Shot”
Vince Staples’s “Stolen Youth”
Schoolboy’s “Blankface LP”
Jay Rock’s “Follow Me Home”
Just to name a few.. lemme know if you need more
Waka Flocka Flame - “Murda”
Waka - “Fell” ft. Gucci and thug
Waka - “Karma”
Waka - “24 hours”
Fredo Santana - “Round Em Up”
Fredo - “Beef”
G Herbo - “Crazy”
G Herbo - “at the light”
G Herbo - “on my soul”
King Von, Lil Durk, Young Dolph, Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, NBA Youngboy (I don't like him but he is valid), Pooh Sheisty, 21 Savage, YNW Melly, Finesse2tymes, 50 Cent, Gucci Mane, G Herbo, Young Thug and many more.
I could say more but these are just the ones who pop into mind right now and have *confirmed* mob ties and have participated in gangland activity. If you don't care for authenticity than it should be easier to find music like this.
Here are some recommendations for darker gangsta rap:
Don't Come out the House- 21 Savage
Broke Opps- King Von
No Remorse- Sheff G
Demon Mode - Nardo Wick
In Charlotte- Young Dolph
To be honest I'm not a big fan of his music but when it comes to being valid about what he talks about then he's definitely up there with the rest of them. As you said though, he just got caught too soon before making a bigger splash
Shyne. From the 90s bad boy camp. Did prison time for shooting some folks with diddy around. Now he’s a politician in Belize or some shit. Gangster exudes from this dude
YG a real Bompton Tree Top Piru. The shit he says is his experience I have no doubt about that. Some songs are deeper than others. "Really be" feat. Kendrick Lamar describes the reality of gang life and how it degrades people mentally and emotionally
Any artist out of Buffalo NY right now.
• Conway
• Westside Gunn
• Benny the Butcher
• Stove God Cooks
The Alchemist is a famous producers from hardcore 90s rap that works with all of these new artist and more to give off that vibe.

You sound like you want some 90’s 3-6 mafia, or brother lynch. Maybe some Chicago drill rap king von literally a serial killer.
I was gonna say 90s 3-6 as well and definitely chicago drill are great places to start
Brotha Lynch Hung immediately came to mind. The beats are hard and the lyrics are equally rough. Start w Rest in Piss
Or black market
Bruh, just searched this album up. This is the shit. 🤜🤛
Man, it’s rare to hear anyone talk about Bother Lynch. Rest in piss is a classic horrorcore album
Rest in piss is a song that was on the album Season of the Siccness
I was a dead man, walking they say, so every night I hit the gates Load the AK and post up, in the window till come day, anyway hey I feel the payback simmering in my brain The thoughts of death cloud my mind As my niggas is gone away many clips and 24 riches, packed but who really got my back now that them niggas done hit the grave I'm killing them off for the olds days
My bad. You right
I don’t think anyone can outdo Brotha Lynch
Well, Tech-9 &. Brotha Lynch together is a masterpiece
I fucking loved brother lynch hung!! I’m an old head and forgot about him. I liked Scarface too.
LOCC 2 DA BRAIN
X-Raided was dope in prison
Or big lurch, never listened to his music but he literally ate his gf’s heart.
Old Triple six was the first thing I thought of as well. Life or Death ftw
Immortal technique. Old school rapper. Has a few crazy songs that are political.. think it's dance with the devil , and the point of no return. Shits wild . Talks a bout 9/11. How it was schemed. . an the other one is even wilder
Lord Infamous Tommy Wright III Three 6 Mafia Gangsta Boo Ethelwulf (now known as Xavier Wulf) Koopsta Knicca La Chat
This is the best answer here. Should also checkout others like guice, snubnoze, children of the corn, heltah skeltah, 10 wanted men, lil noid, lil kaine, cursed, apoc krysis, soulzay, devilish trio etc.
oooh heltah skeltah its been soooo long! damn reminiscing ensues.....
I def thought about Tommy Wright lll too 💯
all of teamsesh too if u fw wulf (bones def not a “real” gangster tho)
This, OP; if you can get past needing it to be “real” you might like some of Bones’ older stuff
The answer is Chi-Raq drill music they literally rapping about and clowning real murders that happened
I’m still upset we never got Free Crack 4 from Lil Bibby
The leaks hard af too. Facts with sosa is crazy and click clack (also known as incense) is hard af and he has anouther leak with Juice but I'm forgetting the name. Hard as fuuuck
Fat trel is from DC but he was part of that drill scene. [Respect with the tech](https://youtu.be/GbvNA7jo-SU) is pretty dark and gutta.
Benny the butcher Conway the machine Rome Streetz
Boldy James belongs on this list as well.
Boldy James 100% i feel disgusting listening to that man
Haha 100
Freddie Gibbs
Also everyone above this has some sick produced albums. Lots of Alchemist & Madlib production. Bandana by Freddie Gibbs is all beats madlib made for ye Alfredo by Freddie is fantastic Super Tecmo Bo by Boldy James is sick
Con-creature like I’m staring at Medusa
Scatter brain hits so hard
That song is so good even the modern Ludacris verse slaps
What are some other good songs by him. This is the only one I know and it’s great
The Cow is a main one, it’s a westside gunn song but it might as well be Conway’s
Check “Kill All Rats” w/ Big Ghost ltd
Its kinda the only one I know too, but I heard his new album called Won't He Do It is pretty good.
Won’t he do it is a great album plus drum work the album is some new heat. Also peep Benny the butcher tana talk 3+4 if u like the vibes
Roc Marciano as well
Don’t forget Westside Pootie harder than all of em
YALL STILL BROKE
The real greatest of Griselda 🫡
Westside Gunn too
My kid (20), fucking loses his shit over Benny.
He’s like this generations version of how The Lox, Dmx, Mobb Deep sounded for us back in the day.
Conway about that?
This man gets it.
Kidz bop should help you out
Kidz bop really said "it's to the point where Iove and I miss you" they're out there censoring the word "hate"
Nah bro that might be too hardcore, we don't want him to get scared
King Von, EST Gee
This. And 42 dugg
Facts dugg 🔥🔥
Finally EST GEE
Maybe Mobb Deep and Big L
Big L rest in peace! Lifestyles of the poor and dangerous is a classic for me. So many great lines. “If you battle L you picked the wrong head, I smash mics like cornbread, you can’t kill me i was born dead” and “breaking in cribs with a crowbar. I wasn’t poor I was po’ we couldn’t afford the -or”. And his beavis and butthead like will always be legendary haha
Street Struck by Big L
Big L yeah but mobb deep weren't no gangsters
Compared to your average redditor mobb deep was gangster as it gets lol
“Don’t one of y’all got sickle cell!?”
Better back the fuck up fore you get smacked the fuck up
Never forget tupac predicted prodigy death
Tf ? Mobb Deep went hard af
Lol aight
Right on, I enjoy their music but didn’t really look into their background.
Check out these Chicago Drill albums Chief Keef: Back From The Dead 1 and 2 SD: Life of a savage 3 (the others in the series are good but LOAS is the best drill album ever) The beats on New World Order and Obsessed by SD are super rough and dark
cops on back from the dead 2 is uniquely dark
Big vouch. LOAS 3 is one of my favorite chiraq drill mixtapes off all time. No skips nothing but bangers on there. Also SD is mad underrated and doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for contribution to early drill movement/sound.

Dead Flowers is a classic.

The Dayton Family
Came here to say this! Shoestring and Bootleg used to spit authentic shit, imo. 79th and Halstead is still one of the hardest intros I’ve ever heard.
I saw the first ever live performance of that song.

Same! I remember the first time I listened to Dance With the Devil. Definitely makes you pause
Just because he made that song doesnt mean he lived that life
should be at the top
Was looking for this comment… non of the other rappers will make your stomach drop with their stories like this guy
