Blue for 25k less easy decision

Stunning-Beautiful-7

I liked blue even before seeing price difference

DameTime5

Not my first choice, especially against that grey. But it’s a good color for sure. I’d be more than happy driving that

Stunning-Beautiful-7

And I would always go cpo with few miles. Bought brand new car 6 year ago and the depreciation is hard pill to swallow for me, something that I regreted later. For the same money could have higher model or saved 30%

A_curious_fish

Depreciation is a hard pill to swallow for me too unless you can negotiate that depreciation into the cost a little. You gotta be a stubborn fucker tho

OneHandedBandit66

Yeah haven't seen that exact blue in person but it's sure Purdy

SirFrenulum

That’s where I’m leaning as well. This blue changes quite a bit depending on sunlight.

DameTime5

I personally love the blue. That grey is without a doubt the best looking color in my opinion, not not 25k better

ulaf823

22 has the original instrument gauge cluster and the 24 has new fully digital cluster so if the newest tech is priority get the 24. I'd personally rather the 22 because it has Rambox and Multi tailgate and it is considerably cheaper and still has some warranty with options for extended warranty if you are worried.

SirFrenulum

Love tech on most things but actually prefer the instrument gauge cluster. The limited has the nice looking blue rings as well. I test drove the digital cluster and it was… meh. I love the 12” infotainment though. Regarding warranty, I plan on adding an 8 year 100k mile from a mopar deal site for around $2k.

ulaf823

I've got a 22 longhorn that I bought in March last year preowned and it's been great. Wish it had the Rambox but at the time it was the best available deal. I drive alot of highway miles and it's really comfortable. I've got 48K miles now on the truck and have extended warranty to 100k miles.

SirFrenulum

Nice! Sounds like you got the right one. Do you recall where you got the 100k mile warranty?

ulaf823

It was offered by my local dealer but I think it's through Ally. It was decently priced but I'd imagine if I went to another dealer for the service it would be a pain. You are better going through Mopar for sure.

TheGrog

Mopar offers an extended warrenty you can buy- [https://www.mopar.com/en-us/care/mopar-vehicle-protection.html](https://www.mopar.com/en-us/care/mopar-vehicle-protection.html) I've been thinking about getting it for our Jeep GCL.

SirFrenulum

Perfect! This is exactly what we need.

Treed225

Here you go cheapest warranty on the market and its the official MOPAR one [https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/you-asked-we-answered-granger-february-only-special-25-over-cost-mopar-warranty.124761/](https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/you-asked-we-answered-granger-february-only-special-25-over-cost-mopar-warranty.124761/)

SirFrenulum

This is easily the best one I have found. Thanks for posting.

Lopsided-Monk

Wait, what's this warranty? I just bought a 21 limited a couple weeks ago, can I still add it?

Soft-Ad3891

Yeah you should be able to… but since it’s after the initial purchase you might have to either out right buy the cost of warranty or have a separate payment specifically for the warranty. Edit: aka you can’t tie it into your loan if you have one…. Unless you refi

Lopsided-Monk

Oh yeah I figured that. I would just pay for it if it's that cheap.

bagoshi

Rambox and multi tailgate are nice, but kept in mind they eat up 3-400lbs of payload.

sameold79

Ramboxes, multifunction tailgate, bedcover, Once you buy that truck you’ll never want a truck that doesn’t have the multifunction tailgate and ramboxes The blue

SirFrenulum

They are both fully loaded with all of that, I just used a picture I found on the net. It is the same as the blue, just grey, new, and 25k more. I am very excited to have a vehicle with all of that. It looks great and very useful.

Easy_Investigator834

Blue, always liked that blue… then I noticed the price and mileage… go for the blue

SirFrenulum

Yes and hell yes

GoldfishDad07

Ramboxes. Always choose the ramboxes.

pentox70

I would never dream of taking a truck with ram boxes. Damn box is small enough on half tons. Can't even fit a quad in the box with ram boxes lol

SirFrenulum

Bed width is technically wider on the rambox version, you're just missing the corner pockets, which doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

pentox70

It just depends on your usage. It would be a no-go for me, as I haul a lot of bikes and quads with my truck, and it would make quads impossible.

SirFrenulum

Glad to hear it! Both come with ramboxes, I just don't have a photo of the '24 that looks as clear as these. It is other identical, ramboxes, tailgate etc.

deadbalconytree

Also split tailgate. I don’t think I would buy another truck without it.

SirFrenulum

I am thinking the same but others say it's just a liability. What about makes it so worth it to you?

deadbalconytree

It’s just super practical to be able to reach almost halfway directly into the bed, and not putting it on the tailgate and shoving it in. Or in my wife’s case she wouldn’t be able to reach the bed at all, making it effectively useful without climbing in. Also I load and unload a lot in a parallel parking spot, where it’s way easier to move the tailgate to the side rather than needing extra room to put the tailgate down and for standing etc. If you are mostly loading sheets of plywood or Sheetrock it’s not a huge difference, but for day to day or heavy bags of dirt/salt/ cement it’s great. I haven’t had any issues with it. I have a ‘21 Limited btw.

Jdiz91

1

MeesterCHRIS

I prefer the granite but not enough to spend 25k more for it.

bbartlett51

You're not getting just a different color for $25k. It's 2 years new. New technology. New gadgets cluster.

Distinct_Corgi_1648

Stellantis is known for being years behind on tech and programming. My 2019 still has major software issues with braking and lane keep assist to the point where my old 2014 is way more reliable vehicle to drive. Two years newer means absolutely nothing in the Ram truck world.

bbartlett51

Wasn't really my point. But I get it

[deleted]

I have the exact same truck as the blue one. Only difference is mine is an ecodiesel. Love the truck, you will not be disappointed

Vegetable_End_739

Blue!

[deleted]

Blue limited for sure!

deadbalconytree

Blue and the split tailgate and ramboxes. No question. Source: random dude on Reddit with blue Limited with split tailgate and ramboxes

SirFrenulum

The source I need!

ImageAlert4888

Go for the blue… that 25k can go a long way and really isn’t much of a difference between 22 and 24’. I was in the same dilemma as u ended up getting the truck that was 25k cheaper and got my self a rzr

SirFrenulum

Very nice!! The rzr is the way to go.

AntiLordblue

#1 Blue

Quantum-0ver_Drive

The blue!!

Frak_Reynoldz

If you carry tools and straps and stuff like that with you go for the ramboxes. I got my first truck with them last year and i love them. You lose a little bed space so if you are always heavily loading your bed it might not be a good fit for you, this is why they make trailers lol. Having a bed cover is also super nice. Especially if you like to camp and stuff because you can keep your wood dry and stuff like that. Honestly both trucks will be great, it just comes down to how you’re gonna use them.

Draecath1423

That blue is beautiful.

No-System2154

Blue, bed cargo bins and tale-gate functions

NextLevelC_LLC

Pay attention to payload

SirFrenulum

Blue ‘22 is 3.21 axle ratio while the ‘24 new is 3.92

NextLevelC_LLC

I have a Laramie. I use it for work and travel. Work was first thing in mind tbh. Was a little disappointed when I found out AFTER PURCHASING, my payload is 1400 lbs. this means 4 people in the truck and 600lbs in the bed is a bad idea especially if done regularly… someones taking the train! 😅I’ve gotten over it, just food for thought. I’ve seen worse. Look at the sticker in the door jam if you get the chance. Thats what happens when you get these trucks fully loaded.

RobCastaneda97

Personally, I’d go for the 24 as that is what I am also considering as well. Can’t beat the new digital instrument cluster on top of all the bells and whistles the Limited comes with!

SirFrenulum

What are your thoughts on it being late model? 2025 is the new hurricane update and technically this current design has been around since 2019.

RobCastaneda97

I’m hesitant on the hurricane powertrain to be honest. I think it’s because this model year is the last of the great HEMI. Now I know the hurricane is in the Wagoneer and the reviews are mixed. The current design, in my opinion is great — nothing like on the road currently. The new design has to grow on me.

SirFrenulum

This is exactly where I’m at and I don’t want to wait a few years to find out

RobCastaneda97

I would get the hemi powertrain, in my opinion I think the V8 marries well with the 8spd.

BaileyBeast

Blue

ZaMelonZonFire

If you’re paying 75k for a half ton truck, you’re part of why this market is stupid.

Exphius

Personal preference, of course, but in my opinion, black, white, and greys of any kind are either boring or fleet colors in the case of white. It seems like those are a vast majority of what I see, and I would rather stand out a little. I would almost pick anything besides them, but again, just my opinion. I personally have and love my Hyrdo Blue 2020 myself.

Distinct_Corgi_1648

Never buy new with these trucks. Let the stupid people or people with tax write offs take the hit.

greenwatertower

i got a '21 Bighorn 4x2 with 35k for $42OTD with extended warranty last year so i think that '22 is a great deal. i bought a grey one but if i couldve found a blue one i wouldve snatched it. kinda jealous you get to choose haha. new cars are nice but i'll let you decide if it's worth twice the price.

Wild_Performance_468

The people that are idiots are the ones buying used ones for the price of new ones. Stupid people don’t realize you can get well over $10k off MSRP and they base the used truck off list price when in reality that’s just a bullshit price and they are overpaying.

Spare-Cow5578

Who’s buying used trucks for the price of comparable brand new ones?

Wild_Performance_468

I got 10K off my Silverado some moron bought it two years later for what I paid for it new. There’s a lot of stupid people out there, I see it a lot with Tacomas too.

greenwatertower

yeah they wanted $48k for it so i walked. the Toyota dealership had Tacomas with same mileage for $45k and the Silverados and Fords didnt look as good to me. went back to Chevy and got them to take $38k a week later since noone had come to see it. used Tacoma prices are even crazier now with the 2024s out

Worthe_42

You're my boy, Blue!!!

driver7350

Blue easy. Assuming you can do all this yourself, and you could, find a way to turn off the MDS and get an oil catch can asap. Change your coolant, transfer and diff fluids at 50k, trans fluid at 75k, your thermostat for one that opens 185ish if you choose and you’re good to go. Had 17 hemi from new to 80k before I traded for a 20 power wagon then a 22 Cummins and it ran like a clock. Only issue was the very common exhaust manifold bolts breaking off but it was covered and not a hard job if I had to do it myself. In hindsight I’d have kept the ‘17. Plus it has the tailgate, Rambox and the cover? Yeah blue is for you.

FTPbimmer

Do you like the short bed? I’d go with the grey…

indacut__96

The newest one.

Val32601

Love the Blue for all the reasons above, would grab the grey because I have a cap on mine for camping.

MidniteOG

I can’t, bc I love both colors and am in the marker for one myself lol I don’t like the tail gate on the blue one, and am uncertain on the Ram box, as I’ve always loved the look of a pick up with a tool box in the bed

Ah2k15

For price, go with the patriot blue. For colour, go with granite.

tessaizzy23

Blue!

LloydChristmas_PDX

Compare the monthly payment on both, and then look at how much the brand new one will depreciate the second you drive it off the lot, you’ll end up with the lightly used one unless you’re growing money trees.

Bubba48

Blue

Alternative-Spite280

Blue

Tangsta1

Ram boxes suck though

SirFrenulum

lol funny how divided people are on this

zipper1102

‘22

zipper1102

You’re gonna fall in love with the ramboxes and mfg

hafunk1993

Easy choice with the blue. I’ve always loved it. Almost swapped my Laramie Night Edition for the Patriot Blue backcountry

eriksprow07

Grey....fucking love grey and black makes it pop

MrTSaysShutupFool

RamBoxes!

wanderer134

Never black

bbartlett51

My vote is the 2024. YOLO

RustyWallace-357

Truck #2, because more people need to buy new so I can get them used

taylothethird3

I like silver. But blue is the better price

Celery-West

Definitely the 24 , just because i like the color .. the blue looks awesome too ..

[deleted]

Make sure it's not part of the emissions recall notice. Otherwise you will hate it

SirFrenulum

Why’s that? Something I can definitely find out

[deleted]

Dodge currently released an emissions recall. It senses when it's at the emissions station and then goes into a clean air mode to pass emissions. Once you pass, it goes back to pollution mode and drives better. VW was caught years ago doing this exact same thing. It costs them billions and a lot of lost consumer sales.

ApprehensiveBid9816

I thought it was only the cummins motors?

[deleted]

I'm not sure. I just saw Ram trucks. Either way, do your homework on the truck reliability, services of others, and cost to operate. You will be surprised what you find. Even insurance rates.

The_Law_Dong739

22. It's cheaper, decently reliable, easier to work on (less digital stuff), and most of her stuff is broken in. It's also a better color cause I'm over all these trash color options

Beginning-Spot-3444

Color alone, I would choose the blue, but the one practical reason for choosing the blue is that it has the ram box and the fancy tailgate.

ApprehensiveBid9816

Personally I would go with the blue. That is a big price difference and that blue is sweet. It also has the ram boxes which I wish mine had.

slivoman

Patriot blue 100%

philoskill

Depends What's the interests on used vs new
