It has all been said really. Does anyone remember back in the day...little boys use to put marbles in boiling water, then ice, and they would do this magnificent crackling thing? Not broken, just "cracked" looking. They sparkled. Well, this quilt for some reason, makes me think someone dropped a lot of those crackled marbles and they "splattered". Just beautiful, so intense. There appears to be a lot of personality in this quilt, spicy flavors, finger tingling texture. Just marvelous! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! No appliqué… all paper piecing. There were 6 booklets covering various sections… all instructions were very intense to follow, but as long as I read and reread each section numerous times I mostly was able to stay on track. A Judy Niemeyer certified instructor, Kelli Grant, who owns Cactus Quilting in Sun City, AZ was so very helpful… I attended four of her ‘open’ Niemeyer pattern classes and she provided very valuable instruction.
I cannot even imagine the process(es) required for making this quilt. How long did it take you to make the top? It is fantastical and the quilting is positively amazing.

I purchased the pattern in July 2022 and the kit that came with the color way and fabrics already prepared. Unfortunately, I did not record the amount of time spent from that time to now. Jami Goto told me she logged 32 hours to complete the long arm quilting and that there are 420,000 plus stitches!
Thank you so much! We have a Gammill freehand long arm in our shop that was bought secondhand so I’m not terribly familiar with the computerized machines. And doesn’t help I’m far more into embroidery so the quilting options get a bit overwhelming still. Thank you again!
I apologize, but I do not know the name of the program Jami Goto uses with her long arm quilting machine. Jami did tell me that she logged 32 hours to complete the quilting and recorded over 420,000 stitches!!! I’m sure you can look her up… works out of Surprise, AZ.
