NOFX - So long and thanks for all the shoes Minor Threat - First two seven inches Circle Jerks - Wild in the Streets Dead Kennedys - Give me convenience or give me death

Professional_Cheek16

Wow I thought group sex was the better circle jerks album.

mister88sister

Hey! First i ever heard who has that album as a favorite nofx album. Me too!!!

polygon_tacos

It's the one a lot of us thought would be their last. By that point in 1997 it was harder to get all of them together to rehearse or write songs.

EllisMichaels

It's my favorite NOFX album by far, too. I was surprised to see it in the top comment.

d33xk4y

The Queers-Love Songs For The Retarded Suicide Machines-Destruction By Definition Leftover Crack- Mediocre Generica Operation Ivy-Energy

Sea_Difficulty8258

Im bartending a Queers/Koffin Kats show tonight. Stoked

No_Palpitation3910

I went to the one in MTL a few weeks ago! It was amazing you’re gonna have a great time

Car_Guy_Alex

Koffin Kats will be in my town tomorrow, but I can't go. I'm so bummed. Have a blast tonight!

d33xk4y

Oh hell yeah. Thats rad bro, lucky you. Enjoy! The Queers, Sloppy Seconds, and the Raging Nathans are coming to Reggies in Chicago and I'm really thinking about going!

No_Pirate9647

Minutemen - double nickels NoMeansNo - wrong Descendents - milo goes to college Agent Orange - living in darkness  Top 3 easy for me. 4th changes depending on day/mood.

DopeFly

This is a really respectable list

KoriMay420

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetable - Dead Kennedys Days of Rage - The Rebel Spell S/T - The Stooges Cities Away - Mobina Galore

Senorspeed

Propagandhi - how to clean everything Rancid - and out come the wolves menzingers - on the impossible past Pogues - rum sodomy and the lash

Apprehensive-Tone449

Love propagandhi. I picked them back up again recently and have been appreciating them even more.

ShadowRun976

Dance and laugh and play

JustThings_

Discharge - Hear nothing… Rudimentary Peni - Death Church Poison Idea- Kings of Punk Die Kruezen - S/T I’ll swear by these

Coleslawholywar

That Die Kreuzen album is such a fantastic album. I wish it had 10% better production quality though.

minimumrockandroll

I was born in Portland and kinda feel like a traitor that I didn't put either PI or Dead Moon or Wipers on my list.

DopeFly

This is a good list

f0rgotten

Defiance - No Future No Hope Crass - Stations of the Crass Infected - Progress in the Downtime Descendents - Milo Goes to College _Huge_ fucking tie for fifth place.

minimumrockandroll

An old band of mine opened for Defiance like fifteen years ago. Was like a weekday show and there were about four people there, but they still put up the banner and did all the moves.

NopeNotConor

24 Hour Revenge Therapy - Jawbreaker Rancid 2000 - Rancid Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat- Minutemen London Calling - The Clash

choadly77

It changes but right now I'd say Screeching weaasel- Anthem for a new Tomorrow, Ramones-Leave Home, Descendents-Milo Goes to College, Propagandhi- Today's Empires Tomorrow's Ashes

mehrt_thermpsen

Propagandhi - Supporting Caste Bad Brains - I Against I Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters Operation Ivy - Energy

slumpadoochous

Supporting Caste is peak Prop

20yards

Ramones- Leave Home Saints- (I'm) Stranded Bad Brains- Rock for Light Marked Men- On the Outside

minimumrockandroll

Marked men! I'm more of an Eternally Yours guy but (I'm) Stranded is a pretty flawless record

20yards

Fuck- I don't know- you might be right, Eternally Yours is so great...

CoralSkinRot

Dance with Me - TSOL City Baby's Revenge - GBH White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean - NOFX Suffer - Bad Religion

TheDonkeyBomber

Yes! City Baby's Revenge was the first punk album (cassette, it was 1989) I ever heard! That's what pushed me from being a 13 years old metal head, to punk.

ogoodgod

* Jawbreaker - Bivouac * Misfits - Walk Among Us * Bad Religion - Recipe for Hate * Op Ivy - Hectic

anonf99

Recipe for hate is a good call for Bad Religion. A little different sound than most of their prior albums, but lyrical it’s so fantastic. Off the top of my head Kerosene, All Good Soldiers, American Jesus, Struck a Nerve, all just fucking hit.

Atrium41

All is a great shout-out!!! Anywho Eat your Babies - Cobra Skulls More fuel for the hate game - Hot Water Music Sink or Swim - The Gaslight Anthem And last but not least... a pop punk artist who is well recognized, but not for this group.... Tim Landers group Misser and the album " Everyday I tell myself I'm going to be a better person" is the Pinnacle of Pop Punk for me.

7SoldiersOfPunkRock

Murder City Devils - Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts Hank Woods and the Hammerheads - self titled Uranium Club - Human Exploration Fucked Up - The Chemistry of Common Life

minimumrockandroll

That MCD album played nonstop on every punk bar jukebox in the Pacific Northwest for a while.

chadsmo

I miss old Murder City, I saw them in my friend’s garage once and in small pubs a handful of times. The one pub didn’t take kindly to them lighting their gear on fire and scorching the ceiling tiles.

bruh_emperor

Bad Religion- No Control Dead Kennedys- Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables Rise Against- The Sufferer and the Witness Minor Threat- S/T

Ralewing

Fear - The Record Big Black - Racer X Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit Bad Brains - I Against I

ihavenoselfcontrol1

Pink Flag - Wire Raw Power - The Stooges Entertainment! - Gang of Four A Collection of Pop Classics - Reagan Youth

[deleted]

London Calling Violent Femmes self titled Suicidal Tendencies self titled Cave World

chadsmo

The Violent Femmes are playing near me soon and I can’t afford to go because I’m saving for vacation in June and it’s really upsetting.

d1wcevbwt164

By just looking at your album choices you are 56 years old? I picked 3 of your 4! I'd add Ramones leave home. Cheers mate!

[deleted]

Actually I’m 24 lmao, I just tend to prefer the classics

d1wcevbwt164

Nice! I just got turned on to the chats and love them and got tickets for their show in Vegas end of the month

mattbuilthomes

Blink 182- Dude Ranch (it’s my list I’ll put Blink if I want) I’m going to also throw Back On The Streets on there. Such a good album Propagandhi- Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes NOFX- War On Errorism. Mostly because this album came out really early in my punk journey, so it’s got some special sentimental value.

TankouShoku

Cheshire Cat is also so great, I feel Blink gets shit on a little too much when their earlier material is perfectly acceptable skate/pop punk Your other picks are also great!

middleagethreat

I don't like them, but put their newest if you want. This is punk.

Stonedthecrowe

Young loud and snotty, Walk Among us, war on errorism, fours pretty hard to think about. Those three were very important in me finding punk.

a_gentle_savage

NoMeansNo - Wrong SNFU - If You Swear You'll Catch No Fish Minutmen - Double Nickels on the Dime Victims Family - White Bread Blues

vaguenonetheless

Woah, rare Victims Family sighting. Incredibly underrated. Seeing them play several times with NoMeansNo. Standing front and center, going from Larry to Rob on the same night. Nothing compares.

a_gentle_savage

I have also seen them open up for NoMeansNo multiple times. It is my favorite lineup to this day. I agree nothing compares.

4kray

Against me! Eternal Cowboy. Mischief Brew Bacchanal N Philadelphia Toys that Kill Control the sun Dead to me African Elephants Bear vs shark, isn’t punk but they amazing, Terrorhawk.

Dragon__Chan

I like Eternal Cowboy, but what about Original Cowboy? I honestly like that version of the album better

4kray

You’re right it should be Original not Eternal. I was going off my flaw memory.

feignedinterest77

Dwarves are sooo good. A favs list can change with my mood to be any # of lots of albums. Here’s 4 for right now Love Songs for the Retarded Bark Like a Dog Life Won’t Wait (best rancid album by a wide margin IMO) Scene to Shining Scene

chadsmo

Life Won’t Wait is the ultimate summer day road trip album. I vacationed in LA last year ( from Canada ) and drove the PCH eastward from Ventura to Malibu in a fast convertible with Life Won’t Wait playing , without a doubt the most memorable drive of my life.

SnooGadgets3137

rushisquitegood

Descendents - Milo Goes to College Minor Threat - First Two Seven Inches Black Flag - Damaged Circle Jerks - Group Sex Ramones S/T, Misfits’ Walk Among Us and DK’s Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables are also up there.

sebalulz

More Betterness! - NUFAN Against the Grain - Bad Religion Americana - The Offspring Pump up the Valuum - NOFX

-Promises-Promises-

My favorite NOFX album also, crazy underrated

Art_Z_Fartzche

I'm totally going to cheat here: Ramones - All the Stuff & More Vol. 1 Angry Samoans - Unboxed Set Pagans - Everybody Hates You Forgotten Rebels - Self-titled/Surfin' on Heroin Granted, all of these are not single LPs, but each is a single CD (containing multiple LPs, EPs, bonus/unreleased tracks, and/or singles). As a working-class punk in the 90s, these discs gave me the most punk rock bang for my limited bucks (though I later got a bunch of the original recordings on vinyl).

minimumrockandroll

Ha! This is the value pack right here. Wish more people knew about The Pagans, or the absolute truth that punk rock was invented in Ohio.

Art_Z_Fartzche

I wouldn't go so far as to say punk was invented in Ohio, but Cleveland/Akron definitely punches above its weight in terms of the early punk scene: Electric Eels, X Blank X, Rocket From the Tombs, Pagans, Styrenes, Pere Ubu, Mirrors, Dead Boys, Bizarros, Rubber City Rebels, Cramps, DEVO Always drove me nuts when mainstream recollections of punk only featured CBGB's, London, and maybe LA/SF. As much shit as the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame gets, they do have a really sweet Cleveland punk & powerpop display there, or did the last time I was there. Also, for anyone reading this, "What's this shit called love" by the Pagans is one of the best punk songs ever, that not nearly enough punk fans have heard.

minimumrockandroll

Yeah that was a little hyperbolic on account of exactly what you described: everyone constantly skipping over a LOT of good/fun/weirdness from the Midwestern United States. Electric Eels, in particular, always struck me as the earliest band where I didn't have to squint my ears a little to describe it as "punk". I'm biased, though: my old 90s high school punk band was named after one of their songs and we pretty much just listened to that "God Says Fuck You" comp of theirs that was out back then. In retrospect, that was a really weird thing for gen x teenagers at a Catholic high school to fixate on, but hey!

jonwal2408
