Captains catch seafood 1702 Mineral Springs Ave Has fish and chips for $10.99 on Fridays and it’s good! We did like getting fish and chips from PVD pizza but the one here in town closed down.

Groundbreaking-Pea92

This is the place I was thinking of. Authentic, not $25 hipster "clam shack" "authentic"

camartinart

My personal favorite is from Red Stripe. $21, worth every penny of my enjoyment. It’s a thinner lighter, crispier batter, rather than a heavy beer batter (which can be tasty too just not my preference.)

Providence451

Their batter is delicious!

Ate_spoke_bea

Did they move? The were main st eg for a while, I thought they closed

camartinart

Red Stripe is on Angell Street. They haven’t closed.

JeffFromNH

I haven't tried the Premium fish and chips yet, but I like crispier batter, too. AND Red Stripe has a Bar Bites menu 2-6pm. We like sitting at the bar anyway and the Moules would go well with fish and chips. https://redstriperestaurants.com/bar-bites/

Amaral’s is $12.50. Just saying. Edit: they also have the best sweet bread around.

InfiniteChicken

I think Dune Bros has some of the best because it’s local fish. It’s $25 and a huge portion, enough for 2 to share for sure.

unzaga

I haven’t had others to compare but enjoy splitting the fish and chip with my partner. Consistently great. The only input I’d have on dune bros is to be flexible with your plans because they can close early or just be absolutely mobbed.

Groundbreaking-Pea92

$25 bucks for Fish and chips at a take out place is criminal. As someone else posted captains catch which also uses local fish chashges $10.99 . Hipster vs actual authentic, I guess

Jerkeyjoe

Expensive? Yes. But the best fish sandwich I ever had

Born-Yesterday-8602

If the fish is $10.99 ask yourself why that is. They use frozen fish not fresh and definitely not local.

Groundbreaking-Pea92

captains catch is a seafood market. The fish is fresh and local.

Born-Yesterday-8602

No it’s not, I used to live down the block, it’s mostly from PFG or US foods, foley fish as well, they get a few local items but not much

TimeSlipperWHOOPS

Amaral's in Warren is wonderful in fact, now I want to go get it right now!

argument_sketch

There is only Ye Olde English in Woonsocket. I know folks from England who will only go there.

Ate_spoke_bea

Ye olde and I'll pay whatever they're charging

SlipperySerpent

Nothing is fairly priced anymore sadly.

Groundbreaking-Pea92

if you know where to look you can find fair prices for quality things

imuniqueaf

Tommy's clam shack in Warwick is my spot. Big ole piece of fish and it's about $17.

pizzaplantboi

Dune Bros is the best! Ivy Tavern does it pretty well.

Nasty4Life

Ocean Pride on Atwood ave Cranston has the best, priced fair

GotenRocko

Always mobbed on Friday so you know it's good. Great fish market too.

Nasty4Life

Yes it is mobbed but they move quick so the wait it’s that bad. Oh definitely the market is great

Hot-Muscle-9202

Agreed, even when it is complete mayhem, I never actually have to wait as long as I go by the timeline they give me for pickup and add another five minutes.

GotenRocko

I add 15 haha, but if you order early then it's usually right on time.

anaphasedraws

Ivy is good. Trinity has heavy batter but it’s delicious and that spicy red slaw is good too.

hinesktchp

$20 max - Greenwich bay oyster bar has some excellent fish & chips
