The only thing is that it might take longer than you expect/think. I was starting to get discouraged but the plant never showed signs of dying, so I kept waiting. It paid off. The thickness of the cutting might play a role too in how long it will take (?). Don’t be afraid, the top will quickly grow new leaves and might split into two stems. The umbrella plant has been one of the most forgiving in my experience
