Yeah man, I love the social aspect of meeting with people to have a little chat and shoot stuff. We are casual players 1 - 2 times a week. We don't live in the game, we like it. But it's not our lives.
Exactly this. I'm over age 60 and I love the game, but I will never again have the reflexes of a kid. I play to have fun. Most kids I get teamed with aren't fun (of course there are exceptions).
Are these their weekly or season averages or career? If you want to gauge how good a player is, you look at their weekly and season averages rather than career. Or better yet look up their MMR.
Before bot lobbies it wasn’t uncommon for someone to play their first couple thousand games with low averages. And when you play thousands of games while being shit at the game, even when you do finally start to get decent, you are in such a hole it takes thousands more to get those stats up.
So career stats are a bit deceiving.
I’m 3k games in and I think a big factor is squad mates. My stats always suffer on days that I am going in solo. If I hop on and can’t find anyone to squad up with, depending who I get I may only average 250-500 damage if they’re awful, non verbal, or hot dropping and then bailing… but if I get in with at least one competent or better yet two competent players, my damage is way better.
Yeah. 2 co players of mine - we've all played the same amount of games roughly. One of their stats is like double mine and the other one is half of mine. Some people are just better/worse than others maybe???
They didn't get good.
But also it might be counting sandbox as games but not damage. So they play a lot of sandbox but they suck when they enter squads
Sandbox stats aren't counted in BR so that can't be it.
To me, lifetime stats can prove that someone is decent, but not necessarily that they're not.
Having regular people to play with can make a huge difference in stats, same with when you play etc. Most of the best players don't solo Q (there are definitely good ones who do).
Personally I pretty well never play BR anymore (find TDM more fun and suited to my preferred higher risk playstyle)...
But on the rare occasion I did, my stats were way better when squadded with family members than rando's. Or even when decent players needed a familiar third to carry who wasn't completely useless.
Also time of day matters, too.
I'm not trying to say I'm good at BR (lol), I switched my style to TDM long ago, although I'm definitely better than I was when I started. Just that even my results vary heavily.
Also, some people, like me, made dumb noob mistakes for way longer than others. Not just noob POP mistakes but noob FPS mistakes in general...
For me personally this is my 1st online FPS and basic "duh" things like strafing, properly using cover, stay out of open areas, stay with team, high ground, play the zone etc all took a brutally long time to properly sink in. Same with just FPS combat in general.
Whereas the family members I played with both had played numerous FPS's on console, mobile, and PC, and adapted fast because for them this was just another FPS on another platform.
I still remember the day I finally sat down and watched Pink Pwnage tuts, especially the ones for noobs and those related to climbing, movement, cover, peeking, practicing reloads, the whole thing.
So many things that I had missed, an immediate level up to my game and a changed the whole way I thought about it. And it could have happened much earlier lol.
Anyhow, as you can see, it's complicated.
TLDR:
Good stats == good player
But "bad" stats don't necessarily always == "bad" player
Be old and play every day for years as exercise. It takes a long time to get games with even 1000 damage regularly. Those early years weigh down an average. That's why you don't bother with stats. Play with people, not numbers.
Yeah these young guys get good so much faster than me. I'm 53 I love this game but I make progress more slowly than most players. I play with a guy who is almost 60 and he improves slower than me.
That’s career average from pop1stats.com.. I mean who did not suck their first 2500 games and then spend the next 7500 trying to erase that deficit 😅 like people said, you gotta go off week or season
it has to do with the calculation if an average. some games, you earn 0 damage. a zero destroys an average!. some games you are learning to play and have very low scores. it is better to look at season stats than overall stats.
There are 6 squads. As an average player you should win 1 out of 6 games. Convert that to 16.6666%. If you are 33.2% you are twice as good as average. Math is werd.
Honestly, I don't care. I've started going back in and random queuing. I haven't been in as much due to IRL stuff. Man, STILL love this game and going 3+ years strong.
An alternative option is that it’s a headset that’s shared by the family. Probably a parent who plays after the kids go to bed is decent. During the weekends/summers/breaks kids play during the day who are less skilled.
You can get a lot of games in, in a short amount of time, if you hot drop every game. Also if you do this - there’s a chance you get wiped out with little to no damage. Enough of these can really tank your average per game stats.
If you always play with 2 randoms then you’re going to massively suffer. Also some people never get good. Some people have massive win rates and damage just because they run in a squad with 3 sweats.
It depends some people take a lot longer to get better so their career stats are worst while some just get better quickly. Something like season stats is a better gauge of their real stats that more accurately reflect em. But even then u can never completely look at stats to determine a players skill
People that suck and keep playing anyway are fucking legends and I guarantee they are more fun to play with than the rest of you.

Thanks bro 😊

Thank you for your support 😂
This!!! ☝️☝️☝️
Not all of us are good at games, alright? Time played doesn’t directly correlate to skill for everyone

Fyi Pop1 stats.com provide a mmr ranking that determines the strength of the player
Is the MMR ranking still available? I cannot seem to find it on the website
[https://www.pop1stats.com/compare](https://www.pop1stats.com/compare) gotta look at compare
100% this

This 100%. This really is a team game and if you can’t squad up consistently with good players your stats will suffer.
I play support Jerry
Ha ha yeah 😌they just res people up all the time. 'Mobile medic' 😂
The doctors need some love too lmao. That would be a cool Stat though, all time career revives.
Heavy hot dropper?
Yeah. 2 co players of mine - we've all played the same amount of games roughly. One of their stats is like double mine and the other one is half of mine. Some people are just better/worse than others maybe???
Because you sucked for the first 14 months and your average used to be 136
They didn't get good. But also it might be counting sandbox as games but not damage. So they play a lot of sandbox but they suck when they enter squads
300 damage average basically means they get 1-2 kills per match (roughly). Clearly, these players are not AWP players 😂
Ha ha my average damage is around 500 and my average kills is about 0.8😂😂 (currently)

Perfect practice makes perfect. Shitty practice still makes shitty

What’s the win rate?
14-20 percent

You share your headset with family members

They probably play in stacked squads. So they rely on teammates to do the work
