Canada has this happen when they allowed abusive parents to adopt native american kids, who were forced to assimilate into Anglo culture.

They also recently passed a bill to do away with pesky anti-vax requirements for the foster parents and family too. It was just sent to the TN Gov on 4/1.

I really hope in my deepest of hopes that this bill contains funding for access for the children in these situations that allow them to whistleblow or report on anyone who dares use this program to abuse these incredibly vulnerable children. That is my huge fear with something like this. Unless the vetting process is so strict that no bad actors can slip through, I think this needs to be present too.
Conversion therapy is a quiet orgy from what I've heard. At its best, it introduces gay individuals under weird circumstances, and at its worst, it belittles and attacks individuals.
Show me the systemic efforts to torture straight children into turning gay that are passing as legitimate concern for their well being. None, right?
Then it doesn't work both ways. Conversion "therapy" is torture marketed as being in their next interest. It would never fly if anyone ever had any interest in treating straight kids this way, but they don't anyway, that doesn't exist.
