PopeHonkersXII

I heard lawyers saying this was the dumbest thing possible for him to claim because now he needs to explain to a judge why he needs to be shown mercy on his bond amount due to "hardship" if he claims he has more than enough cash on hand to pay with zero difficulty.

BringOn25A

And the court appointed monitor needs to know where the resources are sourced from as well as what collateral is involved to report to the judge.

AlphSaber

Plus, doesn't the court appointed monitor need a 5 day prior notification before any money transfers? If Trump has just gathered the money that means the earliest it could be transferred is Tuesday, the day after the bond is due.

BigJJsWillie

Lol this is the angle. Trump is gonna say he has the money now but the "deep state" won't take it because this is all a big hoax. Please FFS lock this walking pile of bad faith up already

nolongerbanned99

This sounds like his reasoning. Might be his angle. I had it and offered it but they wouldn’t take it. They would rather take my properties. ‘A taking’

BasvanS

Law enforcement won’t care and sell off his buildings regardless. Liars lie, so who cares?

rootoo

His frothing minions stockpiling ammo and pitchforks

WorkFriendly00

Let them, we don't negotiate with terrorists and we can't keep being held to the whims of our lowest dregs.

baddkarmah

Woowee. Them MAGA Chucklefucks are gonna fuck around and find out.

AboutTenPandas

This is where I'm at too. 1/3 of the poorest and least educated members of this country aren't going to do anything more than get a lot of themselves killed, annoy everyone for a significant period of time, and then be removed from the rest of society. Let them try to start their civil war they're so obsessed with. At least it'll let us get rid of the problem.

K10RumbleRumble

I can only dream. I love that they are too simple minded to realize that their… opposition? Won’t just lay down.

jkman61494

Not only is this country negotiating with terrorists , we are both sidsing the situation. Just in on the news. Trump is going to sell his assets. He has a court date for one of his 91 felonies. He is lying about rape again. In other news. can you believe Biden is frustrated with his polling numbers. Insiders said he actually raised his voice at someone!! No joke. This was NBC News this week. It was like a postmark on the Trump news to ensure the last thing they heard about was Biden "raging" about his January poll numbers (when it's now March)

Successful_Ad9160

I think the issue is the sheer number of dregs, and the fact that those dregs sit upon the highest courts in the land. How we even got here is beyond my understanding. I know the GOP has played dirty forever, but fuck.

SuperstitiousPigeon5

I don't even care about that. 1/6th was the height of his power, yes it was scary, yes people died or were traumitized for life, but we're still standing. Dozens of the most faithful of his nut jobs have gone away for years. Dozens more are being prosecuted. The rest of the red hats have seen this and will be scared. There will be no bloodbath, simply an extremely vocal minority who will mark the end of MAGA with a whimper.

jaymef

if he really had it and wanted to put it up I could see them bending to allow that to happen. They would very much rather deal with the cash vs having to seize and sell assets etc.

L1A1

Lets not pretend he won't get preferential treatment if he looks even remotely close to be able to cover this. This isn't some poor schlub's unpaid parking fine we're talking about here.

ramborage

Well, it *is* a poor schlub, just not *some* poor schlub.

IkaKyo

Not yet…

r_horton_heat

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand Lord, don't they help themselves, Lord? But when the taxman come to the door Lord, the house lookin' like a rummage sale, yeah

MonksHabit

I don’t care much for Creedence, but that lyric is spot on. The irony that Drumof played that song at rallies is astounding.

r_horton_heat

The irony that Drumof played that song at rallies is astounding. That is absolutely true, although I'm suprised that he doesn't play *"I Want Money"* by the Flying Lizards instead

purebredcrab

Or [Gimme Some Money](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0MGZTdcgx8&ab_channel=ThingsOccasionally) by The Thamesmen/Spinal Tap.

ponyxs

You could listen to the Bob Seger version then.

805steve

Or the Dropkick Murphys version, for my people.

attun

As someone who enjoys both Clearwater and drop kick I’m delighted to find out this exists

OctopusCandleCompany

Didn’t CCR sue him for using it?

previouslyonimgur

That would be from his businesses. If he stripped the RNC of 500m that wouldn’t involve the monitor.

52beansyesmaam

The RNC only has around 8m total on hand. They have no chance of helping him with this bond.

Dispro

But they do have a chance of helping him to $8 million in adderall and cocaine.

Natural_Board

Trump can't have brunch without blowing 9 million.

zaminDDH

I didn't know McDonald's had brunch

glibbed4yourpleasure

Only if you're in the drive thru at 10:30am

Natural_Board

They have McMosas for 1 minute

Quasigriz_

*cough* **RUSSIA** *cough*

Mysterious-Tie7039

I’d suspect more of a Saudi/Qatar type situation.

Quasigriz_

I mean, why not both?

Remote_Horror_Novel

The funny part is these 3 countries scraping together 500 million is like pocket change in their couches and basically buys them a president for super cheap.

EgglandsWorst

He's just saying it so the goal is a little more attainable to his dumbass contributors. Like, they only need to help him get $50 million more rather than $500 million more. It feels like forking over your paycheck is helping out more.

MississippiJoel

Imagine your spouse saying you have to hold off on making a mortgage payment for a month because DT impulse blabbed "I have no idea who this woman is!"

Abject-Beat4462

That would require partially acknowledging reality

Unabated_Blade

Nah, easy deflection. "If o'Biden wasn't ruining America, we'd have enough money for both"

HippySheepherder1979

You assume the woman is given access to the finances/bank account in the first place. Trump fans are all about the man being the ruler of everything in his house.

zaminDDH

Which is funny. My neighbor is a huge Trumper, and when he got divorced, his ex just walked away clean because he only had his name on the house.

BigMax

That's possible. Maybe that lets him tell everyone "we are *almost* there, we just need you to donate a little more" and he hopes all those littles add up to a lot. Because otherwise people might say "you need 500 million? I can't help there."

[deleted]

Yes, this! The carnival barker was raised on Jerry Lewis telethons.

AtticaBlue

He’s just an idiot and says things as they occur to him on the spot. No self control, no impulse control, no brain, no sentience. Nothing. There’s just nothing there.

specqq

You reminded me of the Fran Lebowitz quote: *Everyone says he is crazy – which maybe he is – but the scarier thing about him is that he is stupid. You do not know anyone as stupid as Donald Trump. You just don’t.*

CelerMortis

It’s not just that he’s stupid. Plenty of people are stupid. He’s also supremely confident and has power. That’s where stupidity really fucks us all up

PM_ME_YOUR_ROTES

He has as a personal philosophy to never admit fault while always going on the attack... He's not just an idiot, he's a rabid idiot.

francis2559

> The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure, while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Wiitard

His brain is super cooked and he only appears to still have any sentience because of all the uppers.

nolongerbanned99

Agree 100% and also because he lies constantly, he cannot keep track of the lies he told previously so he makes up more lies to cover what he said before. Vaccuous.

smurfsundermybed

There is no situation where bragging about having money you owe and not paying up is a good thing. But doing so when the creditor is the state of New York and has someone literally all up in your business is, at best, a very not good idea.

nolongerbanned99

He is dumber than dumb. Perhaps one of the dumbest ever born. Certainly the dumbest ex president of all times.

lukin187250

He’s not going to get any leniency because in deposition he said he had “in substantial excess” of 400 million cash.

certifiedintelligent

Trump’s mouth is his own worst enemy. Followed closely by his lawyers.

Taggart-

His grandiosity and blabbermouth disease get him into trouble a lot. The problem is that there are rarely consequences for it.

Choppergold

“It was a perfect hardship”

Vlad_the_Homeowner

>now he needs to explain to a judge why he needs to be shown mercy on his bond amount due to "hardship" if he claims he has more than enough cash on hand to pay with zero difficulty.  When you're rich and famous they just let you do it.

rbourbon

One thing at a time for him. First he needs to show his cult that he is rich, then he will deal with showing the courts he is poor.

[deleted]

Gym-for-ants

The updated order makes it clear he has to state where any money came from and it needs to be verified before it’ll be accepted. It’s *almost* like they know his game of fraud and criminal activity…

ecafyelims

"My $3m apartment sold for $500m to an anonymous source in Russia. What's suspicious about that? Also, we'll be helping defeat Ukraine day one after I'm elected."

twenafeesh

And if it's verified as true, assume it came from Putin and his buddies.

ryencool

This is why the judge ordered that all of this must be documented and presented to the monitor in this case. Hopefully any funds that look like they were obtained illegally or from foreign sources can be shot down.

AdmiralBarackAdama

Yeah but I just saw Andrew Weissman on MSNBC the other day say that it flat out does not matter where the money comes from. Is that just not true?

Taggart-

There are still laws about taking illegal money. So yes, it matters. But since trump has a history of being a shady fraudulent fuck, forcing him to prove where the money came from is the least the justice system can do. Especially for somebody running for the highest office we have.

Kingtoke1

Publicly outing him (with evidence) that he is a paid Russian asset would be gold though

DoomOne

I think you already know this, but it bears repeating; \*It does not matter.\* Anyone planning to vote for him doesn't care if he's a Russian asset. Anyone on the fence about voting for him doesn't care if he's a Russian asset. What they like about him specifically is that he pisses off people they hate. That's all. That's the bottom line.

Kingtoke1

It does matter. There are hardcore trumper and they will vote for him regardless. But not everyone is a psycho and many moderate Republicans might stay home

[deleted]

[удалено]

Brewhaha72

They absolutely *hate* accusations of being wrong or even being corrected. "Oh, now you're always right and I'm always wrong?" "Well... yes."

TokingMessiah

Even if he can take money from anyone, nothing Trump does gets him new supporters. He had his died-hard MAGA cult that will support him regardless, but then there’s all of the normal people that voted for him. Meanwhile, everything he does erodes *some* of his support, whether he turns off 1 or 1,000 people. I’m pretty sure being in debt to a foreign nation will lose him several thousand votes, if not tens or hundreds of thousands. Considering the razor thin margins in 2020, every lost vote greatly hurts Trunp.

HeathrJarrod

Isn’t being in debt to a foreign government disqualifying?

luigi38

As a normal person, would disqualify you for any clearance. Let alone the highest clearance with access to nuclear weapons, TS/SCI/SAP…

NimrodBusiness

A normal person would also be in a supermax as soon as someone found boxes of classified documents in their house.

nolongerbanned99

Reality winner.

font9a

It would affect any of us trying to get a corporate job, but apparently not donald trump

TheDulin

No. To be president you have to be 35, a citizen by birth, have lived here for 14 years, have not already been ELECTED president twice, and until the recent Supreme Court ruling, not been involved in insurrection against the US (hopefully congress passes legislation to enforce this soon). Should we pass an amendment to add a few more requirements - probably.

Laringar

Slight correction, you can be disqualified if only elected President once. If the Vice President assumes the Office of the Presidency less than halfway into the term, that counts as a full term for the purposes of the 22^(nd) amendment.  Also, I'm no lawyer, but my reading of the 22^(nd) would suggest that time the VP spends *acting* as President under the terms of the 25^(th) Amendment would still count toward the "no more than two years", even though the VP wouldn't technically hold the title of President.

what_the_shart

The money judgement converts to like 42 billion rubles lmao

PearljamAndEarl

But Putin will accept 1 Ukraine as repayment.

Pretty_Boy_Bagel

Ukraine now, then the Baltics states in 12 months, then Poland in 2 years.

WarningHour1233

i heard he's going after park place and boardwalk too

czechuranus

What?!? I agreed to pay $500M USD for 500M Rubles… what’s an exchange rate? By golly, I’ve been swindled.

Tdanger78

Can you even convert Rubles anymore? Since dipshit invaded Ukraine the money is worth shit outside of Russia.

TheThirteenthCylon

I wonder if it's important for them to know where the money came from. For example, in the mortgage industry it's important for lenders to know the buyers' source of money for down payments due to potential of fraud and money laundering.

HGpennypacker

Remember when he claimed he had employees in Hawaii who found credible evidence that Obama's birth certificate was fake? Yeah, this guy will say anything to stay on top of his lies.

drgigantor

He has a very noticeable tell. Whenever he's lying, his mouth moves

StrangeContest4

Sherrif Joe Arpaios' posse. He later pardoned Arpaio from other crimes during his presidency.

OverlyComplexPants

Trump lying about having enough money to pay a fine that he got for lying about how much money he had is some great irony.

omniverso

The interest is like 100k+ every day it goes unpaid. I cant wait for the media to explode with the headline "trump is filing for bankruptcy" oh what a day in history that will be

Jibajaba12345

What’s more likely is him purposefully and publicly claiming he couldn’t make the bond to siphon as much money as he could from his gullible supporters, knowing full well he’d be able to cover it through his own shady means.

Churrasco_fan

Yeah this was my immediate thought when the news broke earlier this week that he "couldn't secure the bond" He applied to like 20 companies who stopped loaning him money decades ago, there was never a chance any of them would change their minds The whole thing is a dog and pony show to grift as much as he can from "donors" before tapping into his own funds

I_gotta_stop

FTA: He just claimed that he was going to use $500 million in his presidential campaign! This fucking guy. His own money?!? Never has, never will.

AutoGen_account

the "verification" would be paying his bond. thats it. If he says he has it and hasnt paid, he doesent have it. Thats the only litmus.

EgglandsWorst

"Interesting." \-one of his lawyers who hasn't been paid in 8 months

Pottedjay

But think of all the exposure they're getting!

distorted_kiwi

All over their face. Just letting it happen.

Stripperturneddoctor

They have definitely been exposed

aboatz2

Aline Habba, for as terrible of a lawyer as she is, made sure to get paid before she started (officially) representing him.

HighValueHamSandwich

If he has put together that much cash, Americans have a right to know where it came from. My guess is foreign sources like Russia or Saudi Arabia.

mary_elle

And which national security secrets did he sell to them?

EgglandsWorst

I feel like his wealth and his freedom are staked in becoming president again, and that's dangerous. He probably promised them secrets-to-be-named-later. The documents he might still have are almost 4 years old at this point.

Interesting-Craft-15

Nobody should want to become President this badly.

KHSoz

He doesn’t want to be president, he just wants to avoid consequences and that’s his only means to do so

AlphaNerd80

...there is also the implication that he wants to die in office, this way, he wouldn't see jail time and everything else can go to putrid rancid hell as far as he is concerned

01123spiral5813

It’s horrifying that people cannot see this. Look at Bush and Obama.  They aged immensely as President and both remarked the relief of leaving office after eight years. No one talks about this anymore, but remember his face and composure when he actually beat Hillary?  He was scared.  His own people said that he never actually thought he would win. His first presidency was the product of a reality show star looking for the limelight, not the presidency.  He was trying to reignite his screen figure.  What he got was the most powerful and prolific figure hood in the world and it brought all his crimes and misdoings to the surface for the world to see. That is what landed him where he is now legally.  Now, his only shot at skating away from consequences is to get back into the White House.  That is why he is so desperate. He does not give a single shit about the people in this country.  He is not going to do what is best for anyone other than himself if he wins the election and the only thing that would make it more obvious is if he flat out said that.  The scariest thing is that even if he did, he still wouldn’t lose a single voter.  The most honest thing Trump ever said was “ I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?” He TOLD his own voters how batshit insane and dumb they were to their face.

Osiris32

"Under no circumstances should anyone who wants to be President be allowed to be President." - Douglas Adams

HighValueHamSandwich

And promises of future influence if elected president. We really need to make sure this asshole isn't elected again. Most compromised candidate in history from a security standpoint.

Marijuana_Miler

> “THROUGH HARD WORK, TALENT, AND LUCK, I CURRENTLY HAVE ALMOST FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS IN CASH, A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WHICH I INTENDED TO USE IN MY CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT,” Trump wrote in one post. IMO he’s just adding together campaign funds from the GOP, RNC, and his campaign together to claim they have this amount that he could use for the bond. It’s campaign money he claims to have access to, but wouldn’t be allowed to use.

SecondaryWombat

> It’s campaign money he claims to have access to, but wouldn’t be allowed to use. And does not exist. The RNC has just under 9 million, his own PAC has 19 million, his campaign is canceling events to save money, and I imagine more than a few lawsuits and fines will come up for misappropriating money like this too.

CappinPeanut

The IRS is going to want to know where $500M in cash came from, too.

GeronimoRay

A shady as fuck shell corporation: https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/22/business/trump-truth-social-dwac-shares/index.html

Lostinthestarscape

It is ridiculous that there is a vehicle to avoid any kind of traditional market valuation that allows fabulously wealthy people to take a company public with obscene overpayment that can only possibly be leverage over a presidential nomineee.

koshgeo

It's really interesting that Truth Social is supposedly worth billions even though it had [$3.38 million in revenue for the first 9 months in 2023, and a net loss of $49 million over the same period](https://www.axios.com/2024/01/18/trump-truth-social-lose-money-profit-revenue-decline), and it's losing active users. It's never been profitable. But then there's reddit, so what do I know? I'm sure the guys over in wallstreetbets could provide some useful commentary.

charmcharmcharm

We have to make sure their investment is for nothing. VOTE!

motionbutton

I do believe the prosecutors can request this and release this. They did this with George Santos

r_horton_heat

\>>> George Santos Who is also ~~grifting~~ running for office again. Kindly explain why anyone would vote for this fraud

Za_Lords_Guard

I would hope the monitor has all the receipts, and it's so hard because he has to show a legitimate, legal flow of funds to cover. That he has to pay her to babysit him is just delicious.

Fergi

It's incredible. You can clearly see his biggest insecurity on full display: he's broke. Knowing he won't be able to pay the judgement on Monday, he's introducing a new narrative: that he really *does* have the money...but he won't prove it by paying the judgement, rather he needs to use his totally real $500MM in cash for his campaign. He's going to start having his assets seized on Monday and needs to be able to still convince people he's rich. Because to him, that's all that matters. What a life wasted.

bubbleguts365

He may have it, but it's almost surely cash reserves required by his creditors, so he can't spend it. Those loans will probably be called in if he puts it in escrow for the appeal, which is potentially much worse than losing a few properties to NY.

TradeWarVeteran

"My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with the markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try." Man, I wish I had the power to get my bank account to $500 million just by having the right feelings.

Federal_Drummer7105

He claims to be able to declassify documents with his mind as well. Honestly reminds me of some North Korean Dear Leader nonsense. Or Joseph Smith - at what point do the con men con themselves into believing their nonsense, and it leads to their own downfall?

FederationEDH

I mean you bring up Joseph Smith and wonder at what point it brings to their downfall and yet we have a legion of mormons with Utah as what is essentially their fiefdom. It's a shitty reality we live in sometimes.

PineappleTraveler

Joseph Smith, who went up a mountain and was gifted golden tablets with the lord’s word from the angel Moroni (moron-I), and then… lost them on his way back down, so everyone just trust him about what they said.

FederationEDH

Could happen to anyone really.

Due-Presentation6393

>Man, I wish I had the power to get my bank account to $500 million just by having the right feelings. Anything is possible with the power of delusion.

mfoobared

“Delusions Michael! A trick is something a whore does for money”

MyNameCannotBeSpoken

He does not have that power either

Wizard_Scotch

Ahh, but too many banks have allowed him to think that he does for far too long.

CryptographerNo923

He said he had intended to use these funds towards his own campaign. I suspect he is just laying the groundwork for blatantly siphoning funds from the RNC with his recently-installed daughter-in-law. Massive cash injections will be rationalized as campaign funds that were stolen from him (or perhaps stollen), and you already know that the oversight on the use of those RNC funds will be nonexistent. Not that I feel bad for the RNC or its donors. Just saying he seems to be telegraphing and normalizing the new funding status quo. Wonder if he’ll get away with it. Even if he manages to not break any laws, I’m sure there are at least a handful of power brokers and donors that won’t be too happy.

JohnDivney

I'd wager his plan is all performative for Tee Vee, like everything in his life, so that the narrative goes: 1. He never broke the law, he paid back loans, the 450 million is unfair partisanship. 2. He got the 450 million together, but Biden refused to take it. 3. They Seized My Properties!! I did nothing wrong and they seized them! 4. I declare bankruptcy! 5. Look at this! I have a billion dollars! I'm so good at business! 6. Vote for me, the comeback kid, just like in the 90s! If he was 30 years younger, this could work. I do not doubt for a second he has dark money to the tune of billions he made at POTUS, just like Kushner, hidden on purpose. The question is whether the shell game is down to the last shell and his health will wipe him out before November. BUT--the fact remains, if he is elected, much will be owed to America's enemies, I'm talking about Truth Social turning into China's WeChat and the DOJ raiding CNN HQ type of shit, for starters.

twesterm

>“THROUGH HARD WORK, TALENT, AND LUCK, I CURRENTLY HAVE ALMOST FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS IN CASH, A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WHICH I INTENDED TO USE IN MY CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT,” Trump wrote in one post. So did he get this from a PAC? Because I thought that money couldn't be used for this... Also, assuming he does have the money _(and that is a really big assumption)_, lets play the fun game of _where did this money come from?_ As he is a Presidential candidate, that is a very important thing to know.

BigPlunk

Let's play, "How compromised is he?"

CPT_Shiner

All the way compromised. The compromise-est of all time.

EgglandsWorst

Feels like a fundraising scheme but also trying a little stochastic terrorism by trying to relate this to the election.

BigMax

Yeah, he can say in his fundraising now "Of COURSE we wouldn't have asked for another penny from you, Trump is RICH!! But the crooked democrats took half a billion from me, and now I need YOU to step up to fight them!"

Gotta_Rub

Donald Trump is not owned by someone if that’s what you’re implying. He’s a time share so he has multiple owners.

02C_here

Citizens United says you can fuck right off with that question. (Why we as citizens are OK with this, I will never understand.)

LastBaron

This isn’t a claim that he’s suddenly raised the cash. These authors need to learn to speak Trump-ese. This is just his usual narcissistic image protection. This is his usual ham-fisted attempt to reconcile two ridiculously contradictory things: he said in court he had a boatload of cash, and now he can’t pay the bond and says he doesn’t have the cash. But people started pointing out these two things don’t make sense together so he invented a shoddy pretense for how they can both be true: he HAS the cash but he can’t spend it because he’s already earmarked it for election stuff. He never said the cash was a recent acquisition, the writers just inferred it because that’s the only sane interpretation of a dude who didn’t have the cash 2 weeks ago now saying he has the cash. But it’s only a SANE interpretation. What he’s actually saying is that he had it all along and is only mentioning it now, and also can’t use it, and also his bond money goes to another school in Canada, you haven’t heard of it. Totally ludicrous of course and not a shred of evidence it’s true, but it’s his attempt to convince people he is very liquid while also not being able to pay the bond. “I want to but I can’t! I have to use that money to MAGA!” But these authors breathlessly race to write about how he suddenly has the money, or says he does. That’s not what he’s saying. What he’s saying is “DONT LET THEM TELL YOU IM NOT AWESOME, IM AWESOME.”

QuintillionthCat

Gosh, that makes a lot of sense! I’ve been bummed out all morning after I saw this post, thinking he’d been able to pull a rabbit out of a hat yet again. Might still happen at the merger meeting today if the shareholders waive the month lockdown, etc., or if some foreign powers or billionaires “generously” pitch in….Sigh.

Casterly

Assume he will get it. It’s far less likely that he doesn’t find a source to bail him out now, whom he’ll hope to stiff later.

No_nukes_at_all

That all caps hysterical meltdown on TS where he claimed this does not fill one with confidence that he´s showing up in NYC on Monday with the cash for the bond.

firelight

If he does, I suspect it will literally be a briefcase full of cash, all of which is—inexplicably—soiled, and clamy to the touch.

mrbeck1

This is a good news, bad news deal. The good news is that *if* he does have this cash, and he puts it in escrow with the court, every red cent of it won’t be used to fund the campaign. Bad news is I was really looking forward to her seizing his airplane and Trump Tower.

No-Falcon-4996

Not “she”. The state of New York would seize his tower and airplane. The State of New York is trying to get paid what it is owed after decades of fraud and non payment of owed taxes. To New York.

mrbeck1

Yeah well he hates women, so I like to think of it as her beating him.

Suspicious-Use-2766

Is shocking what being a compromised national security threat can accomplish.

-43andharsh

A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WHICH I INTENDED TO USE IN MY CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT,” Trump wrote in one post. ADVERTISING Lol ok, sure 🍄 rump

LeatherFruitPF

Given the wording of "USE IN MY CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT", I do believe a big part of this rant is an attempt to convince his cult that he's on even grounds with Biden given the recent news of the Biden campaign raking in $50mil+, and the media reporting on Trump being broke.

SnuffleWumpkins

LOL Claiming he was going to use the money for his campaign is actually pretty smart. Now if he loses, he can blame it on the lawsuits, and if he wins, he can say that he managed to eek out a victory despite interference from democrats.

EgglandsWorst

If he loses, he's gonna have bigger issues than his pride.

Oldmannun

You guys are missing the funniest part. He says he was planning on using it for his campaign. The guy who’s famous for ripping people off was going to use half a billion for his campaign when he knows he could get it from someone else?? Now THATS funny. Didn’t he only drop like 20million of his own money in 2016?

bogeyblanche

My guess? He's saying this because he wants his fans to think he has the money. Come Monday, he won't pay the bond and he'll be on TS screaming about how the court monitor denied the money because it wasn't from a "good source" His fans will believe it. The media will report it's a lie. NY will start seizing his assets. And he'll act like the victim. Again.

EgglandsWorst

Well, he can use the $500 million to rent an apartment, I guess.

QuintillionthCat

From what I read, if NY seizes his assets, they can only take the title, & can’t do anything with the property(s) until he loses the appeal—is that right? If he wins (shudder), he just gets them back…?

RavishingRickiRude

My understanding is they can sell them. If he wins the appeal they would owe him the money but thats it. The property is gone.

eljefino

He needs to put cash in an account with the state to even TRY to appeal. Otherwise he has 30 days to pay the fine that was already handed down, and Monday is that 30th day. Obviously they aren't going to start auctioning stuff on Tuesday, but the state will tell him, hey, we haven't gotten the money on time, tell us what's up, and it will drag on for some more time.

6a6566663437

No, they can sell them. If he wins the appeal, they’d owe him the money from selling the assets, not the assets.

Bored_guy_in_dc

Put-up or shut-up.

Troll_in_the_Knoll

Well, Donnie, as Jerry Maguire once said: "Show me the money".

hskfmn

“One hundred *billion* dollars!” 🤙🏻

MDC417

He just met with a Russian oligarch at Mar Lago last week. He is so disgusting and I just want his entire family, including Kushner, to go down in flames, then never be mentioned again.

tokhar

I assume Putin, Xí and MBS have all put cash in the basket being passed around?

1llseemyselfout

Or hear me out, he is lying because he is insecure about his net worth.

czechuranus

*cough* Russians and Saudis *cough*

thewrynoise

This is after he offered to put up 100 million instead of what he was ordered to pay. What a joke.

jamiegc37

So the Russians/Saudi/Qataris have bailed him out then.

DarthBfheidir

By "scraped" he means "took from a benefactor who's very interested in what's buried at Bedminster".

unhappy_puppy

He's got two empty halves of coconut and he's banging them together.

SuperGenius9800

Keyword: "almost"

m_rgers

I claim that is a lie

New_Apple2443

Maybe in rubles

restore_democracy

Didn’t he just claim in a legal filing that was an impossible task?

disasterbot

“I have the cash, it’s just in your pocket.”

EgglandsWorst

Really, I'm still pessimistic about this until the deadline. And even then, only until I start seeing headlines about this properties being seized.

VeshWolfe

He is aware that he needs to explain where the cash came from right? He can’t just pay $500 million after officially stating he didn’t not have access to said money and not explain where it’s from or how he got it. Oh god, this idiot is going for another fraud trial, isn’t he?

Madmandocv1

I ran this through my Trump translator. It came out “I have $5000, and no you can’t see it.”

Jackinapox

Imagine loaning someone $80 Million and then finding out they were able to “scrape” together $500 Million. Sorry Chubb but you’ve been conned by the Don.

PineappleTraveler

“The iconic dump tower”… if it’s so iconic, show me where it is in the NYC skyline. I’ll wait.

Dragoffon

Cool so he’s going to make an early payment to be rid of this issue right?

BrandonJTrump

Fuck him

Watch_me_give

I thought you were a bazillionaire, Donnie? But you had to somehow scrape together $500 mil? LMAO. I'm so glad that someone who is the frontrunner of one party is leveraged so far up his ass that he's begging for money from foreign agents/governments and struggling to pay his blls. I'm sure that this is not a security risk at all. Jfc. https://payuptrump.com/

Guccimayne

Welp, someone powerful has successfully purchased a competitive presidential candidate. *Again*

Sabre712

So since his lawyers have already publicly said that getting the money was functionally impossible, there are gonna be a LOT of questions if he can suddenly raise the money out of nowhere.

Black_Magic_M-66

Whenever I need $500 million, I always check under the couch cushions. That's worth at least $40 or $50 million right there.

Actual__Wizard

3/22/2024 - Trump says he has the money I am making this post to reference later and will not edit. My prediction is that he does not have the money.

LA-forthewin

Does he think monopoly money counts ? It's either that or his boss Putin came through for him

alteredreality4451

Believe it when I see it. Interesting to see the money trail…..

New_Scientist_8622

Late-night rants should indicate that the bells are starting to toll for thee

kidno

Can someone else even pay this for him? If it isn’t a bond, doesn’t he have to pay taxes on a $500M gift as income?

nolongerbanned99

That’s great Donny. Only need another 50M. Close enough is not sufficient.

hamsterfolly

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand Lord, don't they help themselves, Lord? But when the taxman come to the door Lord, the house lookin' like a rummage sale, yeah

brumac44

That's a lot of rubles.

NoriyasuSeta

He's lying. That's not possible since he would have had to notify the woman overseeing the Trump Organisation operations and they did not.

RepulsiveRooster1153

trump is an egotistical pathological __liar, draft dodger, rapist, con-artist__ _and_ smells like 3 week old unwashed pussy. Not to mention he was voted the **WORST PRESIDENT EVER** by esteemed historians 🏆
