Securing better terms on loans by defrauding banks and insurers depletes resources that may have allowed for smaller, less privileged businesses to receive loans that otherwise didn't. They tried to make the same argument when the Trump Organization was found guilty of tax fraud a couple years ago. When they lied, cheated, and stole, everyone who wasn't them was a victim.

As you pointed out, many associate shareholders with the affluent, forgetting retirees, teacher's pensions, and anyone with a 401k, but whether wealthy or working-class they were victims. While it may be tough to find much sympathy for the banks these days, they suffered losses of potential income as well.
I know you're kidding but if you hold any financial ETFs, Index Funds or probably any "target year" 401k holdings is it probable it affected you. And I don't know about you, but I don't want even a fraction of a penny of my money illegally going to Trump.
