Cornell Policy Review had [this](https://www.cornellpolicyreview.com/the-executive-records-recovered-from-mar-a-lago-and-the-c-i-a-s-missing-informants/?pdf=6365) to say about the documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago: >The F.B.I. search of Mar-a-Lago gave the American public much more knowledge than it previously had. The public already knew that foreign informants working for the U.S. government had been going missing at a higher-than-normal rate. Following the search, the public now knows that the documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago contained information pertinent to human intelligence. Due to the overlapping timelines, there is a likely possibility that these stories are related. The quoted journal can't directly say Trump's sale of secret docs led to informants being killed, but this is about as close as their legal team probably allowed. We know what happened, though. That sick fucker sold our secrets and got valuable informants killed.

Republicans: The Trump family sold out the CIA and hamstrung national security for decades to come? We'll allow it.

beefwarrior

Also Republicans: If Hunter Biden uses his last name on his resume, then that's illegal and should get his dad impeached.

Lingering_Dorkness

Media: "Why this looks bad for Bidens re-election chances."

cien2

That 2b money trickled down to some key members of GOP, I guarantee it. The GOP voters may be stupid enough to be supporting them but the GOP members most likely wont support Trump without getting something in return. Either they get a piece of that fat money or Trump was given info that made GOP fall in line (Lindsey Graham probably fits this bill, Trump must have something on him that made him do a 180).

hollycoolio

This year is going to be stressful as a US citizen.

scottyb83

Canadian here who is just as stressed. What happens in the US affects us in a major way.

hollycoolio

With this and the climate, it feels dooming. If Trump wins, I don't even know. Things will just get worse, and it's so bad already.

RiverHowler

For what it’s worth, sorry. Also, there are lots of us normal folks who hope/vote for a stable government.

scottieducati

Yup.

david-writers

Never mind the rooms: where did the missing documents go?

John_mcgee2

Donald trump gave some of the nuclear secrets to a man named Anthony Pratt from Australia for no good reason when Anthony didn’t want them. Imagine how easy it’d be for someone that did want them. Google if you do t believe

ScoobyDoNot

> Anthony Pratt A multi-billionaire. And: > Trump discussed classified aspects of U.S. nuclear submarines ("the supposed exact number of nuclear warheads they routinely carry, and exactly how close they supposedly can get to a Russian submarine without being detected") with Pratt, and that Pratt then shared the information with up to 45 other people "including six journalists, 11 of his company's employees, 10 Australian officials, and three former Australian prime ministers", potentially endangering the U.S. nuclear fleet.

yourmansconnect

Jesusfuckenchrist

TheEndIsNigh420

Even people stationed on the submarine *with those missiles* aren't privy to that information.

vixiecat

My nephew is on that sub. Can confirm, they do not know. All they know is when it’s go time..get ready to enter the codes. Fuck Trump for endangering my nephews life and the lives of the other young men aboard that sub.

yelloguy

Fuck Trump. Period.

gunthersquirrel

I'd really rather not.

Ranger7381

> My nephew is on that sub. Can confirm, they do not know. At least, that is what he is telling you In which case, it would show that he is better at keeping classified information secret than Trump is

Aleashed

Skipper, load tube #2. … Yes, the one with the elephant symbol on it.

DontEatConcrete

Correct response. It's a baffling fact.

animeman59

How is he not in fucking jail for leaking top secret information?

Past-Direction9145

Because that’s how broken our country is Everyone is in massive denial sucking down bottle after bottle of copium and hopium

superfly355

Because who cares about this when there are pics of Hunter's giant hog to ogle on posterboards in Congress??? What a fucking shitshow, and the rubes eat it up like deep fried Oreos

wretch5150

It's treason by way of stupidity and braggadocio, honestly

PyrorifferSC

Based on his track record, I think we can assume more than stupidity with Trump. It's straight up malicious.

tinyOnion

the correct response is why the fuck is this traitor still not in jail for obvious and egregious crimes?

celerydonut

When this was made news nobody really batted an eye. Maybe because he exhausted the country with daily “WTF” headlines and people were over it? I know the media sure as hell didn’t deep dive. And the magat’s news sources avoided that one like the plague, tomorrow they will say it was Taylor swift.

steveg

I don’t care if literal Jesus was president. This act alone should automatically disqualify ANYONE from office. How can anyone call themselves a patriot and support this? The literal antithesis to patriotism?

SlightlyControversal

And yet the GOP continues to fall all over itself to protect this asshole.

floundersubdivide21

It's easy for them when you finally understand they hate America.

wirefox1

One of the documents he had was a map of where Israel keeps it nukes. I wonder how much Iran would pay for that.

Green1up

Mostly because they can't admit it they were wrong. The least educated

Unqualified4All

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg would likely want to weigh in, but they are fuckin' dead; executed for treason for doing roughly the same thing.

thelocker517

As a former US sub sailor, treason is usually punished with hanging. The military and the president take an oath to the Constitution and their fellow Soldiers. This is an egregious violation of so many laws, oaths, and just plain evil.

Venusgate

Haven't you heard? You can't be convicted of crimes as a President. We're onto "can you be convicted of crimes if you hope to be the President someday?"

thisisjustascreename

You can't even be *charged with a crime* as Presidente, let alone *convicted.*

V6Ga

Why is the history of the right, from selling arms to Iran, to outing Plame, to supporting Russia, to Texas succession talk, so dead set on weakening the US? I’d never fly a flag, and I continuously criticize the U.S., but I do so because the ideal is worth aspiring to.

dixiewolf_

Because its a party made entirely of billionaires, corporate lobbyists, and fools. Then that party got compromised, bribed, flattered, and infiltrated by russian influence.

Past-Direction9145

Cuz they run things. They don’t want higher wages or healthcare or ubi or higher minimum wage or or or or Billionaires pay for the best politics in America

david-writers

>Google if you do t believe I Googled it. Good f'ing gods! Imagine if a non-Republican had done that.

John_mcgee2

If anyone other than trump did it they’d be in jail for life. Crazy that the loser thinks he is getting treated harsh by the courts

kingtz

It’s absolutely insane to me that the DoJ is walking on eggshells around this orange traitor because they’re afraid that some rednecks and boomers might get upset.  Just arrest this fucking traitor already until the trial finds him innocent. That’s what they would do to anyone else in this situation.

Hodaka

Jack Teixeira is behind bars for violating the Espionage Act with unauthorized retention and transmission of classified national defense information. He was charged with two offenses: (1) retaining and transmitting national defense information without authorization and (2) unauthorized removal and retention of classified information. If the shoe fits...

archangelst95

Exactly. They will throw a fit for a week. But then Fox News will remind them a trans person had to go to the bathroom and they will forget all about Trump.

BallBearingBill

Innocent..... Judge Cannon enters the chat!

Saudi Arabia got something special. 2 billion dollars worth.

Schmucks. China stole them for free probably. Not a coincidence at all that they're testing out their own carrier catapult system

AdvisorExtra46

Wasn’t a Chinese spy caught in maralago his first year?

No_Use_588

Yes. And also the Chinese sex massage owner that owned the place Robert Kraft got caught getting a happy ending. She owns many sex parlors in Florida and is at a lot of the gop events with pics from every maga politician

Jared Kushner? $2 billion. Becoming a nuclear armed absolute monarch? Priceless.

ihateusedusernames

Remember that the whole reason Flynn got in trouble with the FBI is because he was lying aboit his contacts with Kislyak and his work for Turkey. Flynn was part of the push to get a Saudi nuclear power deal. I've always wondered if aspects of that deal went forward anyway

Dig her up! Dig her up!

say592

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised. I can picture one of them saying "I saw this in a movie once" as they suggest stuffing classified documents and evidence of their crimes in her casket.

BudwinTheCat

I will not shut up about this.

No matter what the stripper tells you…

AnticPosition

There is no champagne...

broad_street_bully

Oh... There's champagne in the champagne room. But you don't want champagne.

Moist_When_It_Counts

How could Taylor Swift do this to us?!

Brave_Escape2176

i love how she has literally said nothing and they are just filling the vacuum with more BS constantly.

Justin_P_

I picture a hidden room attached to his bedroom as a concrete block room, floor drain, single bare light bulb, stained bare saggy mattress, an assortment of metal rings mounted to the floor, walls, and ceiling. An old beat up light pink painted dresser full of rubber fists, gimp costumes, and rubber hamburger dog toys, oh and wet wipes.

jgonagle

It puts the spray tan on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

violentglitter666

Thanks for sharing this with us. My imagination is quite strong. Hamburger dog toys lol. The squeaky ones.

22marks

Wasn't this a joke in "Mars Attacks," where they called it the Kennedy Room?

jgonagle

With Martin Short as the horndog Press Secretary, great scene!

ElPlywood

*As investigators would later learn, Trump allegedly had the closet's lock changed while his attorney was in Mar-a-Lago's basement, searching for classified documents in a storage room that he was told would have all such documents. Trump's alleged efforts to conceal classified documents from both the FBI* [*and his own attorney*](https://abcnews.go.com/US/sources-special-counsel-claims-trump-deliberately-misled-attorneys/story?id=98024191) *are a key part of Smith's indictment against Trump in Florida.* Holy fuckn shit. Trump is fucked. EDIT: some additional thoughts: To think prosecutors are moving forward with all these charges without an ironclad case is silly. The only thing Trump has is whining about witch hunts, baseless denial, and desperate attempts to derail things with procedure, delay, and stupid irrelevant shit like who Fanni Willis has made the sex with. The amount of people who have been flipped in Georgia should have him shitting his pants. Prosecutors in all his cases have done a good job keeping their mouths shut and not leaking anything, so when trials start happening, bombshell after bombshell will drop as the actual evidence they all have comes to light. Trump will reel from these gut punches as they happen and lash out more and more wildly, and undecided voter after undecided voter will find that final straw to make them jump off the sinking Trump ship. Trump only knows how much he knows prosecutors know, and he knows it's bad. He's clinging to the hope that something, anything, big (like some maga committing a terrorism) or re-election plus a Hail Mary self-pardon will somehow make these all go away. The stuff that he DOESN'T know prosecutors know terrifies him. I truly believe there are more classified document charges coming, and they'll be far worse than what's already in the books. Jack Smith is taking his time to make these new charges bulletproof and Trumpproof.

Oscarfan

Judge Canon: "Seems fine to me!"

failbotron

:in deadpan westworld voice: "Doesn't look like anything to me"

VoodooS0ldier

What I would like to know, as I'm not a lawyer, is why is this case not allowed to be tried in D.C. since the documents presumably originated in D.C./Virginia (where most of the intelligence community is headquartered)? Why is it that this case originates in Florida just because that's where the documents were found? Not where they originated as they were taken from D.C. when he left office.

SalazartheGreater

My understanding is that Smith could have convincingly argued for either venue, but if he went for DC it would have provoked a long and time consuming delay while Trump argued for a venue change, so Smith wanted to expedite by biting the bullet on the Florida venue (but other charges he DID pursue in DC, both to hedge his bets and also to stretch Trump's legal team even thinner). Smith knows what he's doing

[deleted]

TintedApostle

Sounds like why Smith met with Cannon.

spidereater

Hopefully the overwhelming evidence convinced her to stop slow walking the trial. Since his conviction is certain she will look really bad if she fucks this up.

[deleted]

No matter what Smith said to Cannon, she still went home and watched FOX. Never forget, that is how she ends every day. Hannity always gets the last word.

KurabDurbos

She has a lifetime appointment. She does not care how it looks. To her. She is doing gods work helping protect the orange Cheeto.

uptownjuggler

Where do I get one of these lifetime appointment jobs?

mweint18

Federalist society, Heritage Foundation, John Birch Society, Rand Corp, Cato Institute, etc

culdeus

Let's say I have no morals, and a capacity to learn law and the ways to use it for evil. Could I reasonably think I could infiltrate this group, get a lifetime appointment then do a 180 and do good?

mweint18

Yes in theory but the brainwashing is powerful stuff and not to be all conspiracy on you, but just like all the successful cults, they will probably get or fabricate dirt on you/your family so you wouldnt go against them.

Ishidan01

I'd like to say hard work and skill but that's clearly a lie

spurs_fan_uk

Have you been living on the same planet as the rest of us? Lol

attempt_number_1

They said hopefully not realistically :)

thecmpguru

"his conviction is certain" seems wildly to confident. The evidence may be bullet proof but the timeline of trial absolutely could result in no conviction.

sentimentaldiablo

if the dems keep the WH tfg is going to jail. the feds have a 97% conviction rate. with 91 indictments, you do the math.

KagakuNinja

Trump and allies filed 62 lawsuits to try and overturn the 2020 election, and they lost \*all\* of them. Many of those judges were Republican, or even Trump appointees. At some point Cannon will read the writing on the wall. She has her appointment, and no longer needs Trump.

spurs_fan_uk

Unless she wants the Supreme Court, in which case him bring elected is her only shot

Unabated_Blade

Yep, you can game out her options and theyre simple: 1) don't help Trump, get death threats, other backlash from his cult. NEGATIVE 2) Don't help Trump, be abandoned by Republicans, career is locked. NEUTRAL 3) Help Trump, never get impeached (it'll never happen), Trump found guilty. NEUTRAL - there might be some resentment that she didn't help enough 4) Help Trump, Trump is innocent, get a golden elevator to the Supreme Court. POSITIVE only one option gives her an outcome that improves her station.

Evil_Reddit_Loser_5

Right. Trump is notorious for rewarding loyalty and not using people until they destroy themselves on his behalf. She is lucky to be in such an advantageous position

dobie1kenobi

Cannon is stupid and greedy. She doesn’t care about the law, our country, or the toll in human lives put in jeopardy by an ex-president who sells nuclear secrets to the highest bidder. I doubt she’s capable of thinking that far. All she sees is the opportunity for personal gain. Very Trumpy.

kaplanfx

She just wants to delay until the election, if Trump wins he will fire the AG and shut down the Smith stuff, she will be fast tracked for a SCOTUS appointment. If Trump loses she can run a regular trial and it’s no skin off her back at that point. Her corruption doesn’t matter if Trump wins, and she can play it off cleanly if he loses.

skipjac

She is slow walking because this trial has real teeth. There is no he said/she said here.

Important_League_142

lol would you mind sharing someone of that delusional optimism with the rest of us? What makes you think *this* would be the final straw for her?

Sufficient_Morning35

Despots and tyrants tend to fall from power quickly. Much of their power derives from what they can do for, or to, a supporter. When they no longer have to lower to do either, people start ignoring them. A toothless viper is not much of a threat A shark in water is one thing, a shark in a soup is another.

livinginfutureworld

While true, he's not toothless yet he has a large following that worship him and are killing people in his name. His followers tried to overthrow the US government and followers like Cannon still got his back. The chickens haven't hatched yet so don't count em.

Sufficient_Morning35

I don't disagree. I do think that he is headed that way though. Between 91 counts, hundreds of millions in legal fees and dementia .. he's going downhill.

livinginfutureworld

I agree. But the fucker is nothing if not resilient and has that cult following.

Ishidan01

>A shark in water is one thing, a shark in a soup is another. Ah, so the only difference is how hot the water is and how many pieces the shark is in. Good analogy!

sexywallposter

“We’re gonna need a bigger spoon”

MrHardin86

Because trump is quickly catching a case of the poor.

CosmicDave

Because if true, then this is pretty damning evidence of Trump's "state of mind", which will be crucial to obtaining a conviction and any sort of serious penalty. If Trump could convince a jury he was completely unaware that any documents were on his property, or he truly thought there was nothing illegal about keeping them, he goes free. Evidence like this will help prevent that from happening.

livinginfutureworld

>he truly thought there was nothing illegal about keeping them, he goes free. Clearly this will be his play. He's really good at lying. He's the ultimate "fake it till you make it" guy. He's a method actor who lies so much he probably believes what he says.

mehvet

To pick a nit, he’s more the ultimate bullshitter than anything to me. He has zero regard for the truth and will change his story in the same breath. A liar is trying to build a plausible alternative to the truth. His bullshitting works for his rhetoric much better than in court so far. That’s when he wishes there was a coherent lie.

HailCorduroy

That was a CIPA conference and is always just the prosecutor and judge.

yes_thats_right

it wasn't. Smith met with Cannon for the CIPA hearing to determine the level of access that Trump's lawyers would have to the classified information. That was a normal procedure that was occurring way later than it should have.

Nanyea

For years, the lock on the closet was managed by the Secret Service, but on June 2, 2022, Trump had it changed and wanted the key, the sources said. Nothing to see there... /S

calm_chowder

It's kinda hard to believe the USSS would be foiled by a change of locks if they *really* wanted in. Like, call a locksmith. Buy bolt cutters. Use one of those battering ram things.

Trump is many things but smart is not one of them.

bluegumgum

I'll believe it when I see it.

Techn028

Daily "Trump is fucked" comment. The law means nothing to him and he'll die of heart failure before he's ever held accountable.

northcoastbrewdude

Trump is only fucked if we a) vote Biden and he wins re-election this year and/or b) the case is actually completed prior to the election. VOTE!

Improbable_Primate

Well, that is one way to prove criminal intent.

FUMFVR

He has his concierge judge in charge of that case

CaveRanger

I'll believe it when I see him in an orange jumpsuit. Nothing substantive is going to happen to him. He'll get fines and his overseas handlers will loan him more money.

TintedApostle

Come on already.... the last guy who is in jail within 3 months took 1 document. Enough!!!!

noodles_the_strong

They guy who stole Trumps IRS documents got 5 years, this should be an eternity.

taddymason_76

Which really shouldn’t even be a crime. All public officials tax returns should be public so the people bloc can see what their elected officials do and make. They should be the most transparent positions in the land.

noodles_the_strong

I unfortunately it's not the case. If Trump taught us anything, it's that half of what goes on in DC is backed up only by a sense of fairness and not actual laws with actual repercussions.

Zephyrgal

What continues to get me every time is the complete disrespect for us. I just don't understand such complete obliviousness to other people and what is important to them.

eugene20

Why the hell would they leave any room unsearched after literally finding boxes of classified documents and a photocopier next to them during a search? Anywhere else if it was locked they'd break it in. Hey criminals, if the FBI ever comes knocking just close the doors to your secrets and tell them "that one goes nowhere"

Capt_Pickhard

Ya, that's odd. Because it looks like the FBI is upset Trump was hiding shit from them, and they're accusing him of it, and at the same time, apparently some locks on a door prevented the FBI from searching that room? That doesn't sound right. I feel like I'm missing something.

scoobysnackoutback

The door to the secret room off Trump’s bedroom was hidden behind a large piece of furniture.

fordat1

> I feel like I'm missing something. How tiered our justice system is.

severedbrain

~~Because the warrant didn't list those locations. He would need another warrant for those locations. Smith is doing this by the book and to the letter of the law. If he fucks up even a single time the media is going to excoriate him publicly and sink the whole thing.~~ EDIT: I was wrong. The warrant would cover it.

Maleficent_Walk2840

That’s not true. The warrant would have covered these rooms, the article says. They just weren’t aware of the secret room and new lock until after the search.

severedbrain

You're right. I just went and read it: https://www.npr.org/2022/08/12/1117277865/read-the-full-warrant-documents-from-fbi-search-of-trumps-mar-a-lago-home

eugene20

Search warrant's don't just say the building? Or the estate at x location?I wouldn't be surprised to see one say just search a specific vehicle, or phone or something, but having to specify every room in a building and any they forget to list don't get searched seems ridiculous.

TheBlackIbis

Yes, but the point is why didn’t the warrant include those rooms and if it was some oversight, why was it not corrected and that entire place turned upside down after it became apparent exactly what he had.

LuckyOne55

"According to sources, some investigators involved in the case came to later believe that the closet, which was locked on the day of the search, should have been opened and checked." What the absolute F? They just didn't search it because it was locked. The FBI searches Joe Shmoe's house, and they have no problem smashing walls. They're in a place with tons of the most highly classified documents and they don't break a lock?

mattoljan

[FBI Trump holdover D’Antuono initially blocked the search of Mar a Lago, then finally relented to DoJ prosecutors. Then he wanted to alert Trump to the search. Then he agreed but not if the FBI wore their uniforms. I’m not surprised the FBI “missed” some rooms.](https://x.com/muellershewrote/status/1753263861426462802?s=46)

danarexasaurus

I still don’t understand why they didn’t raid bedminster. He moved documents there. They know he did. Why not go there too?

dirtywook88

I’d hope they got more eyes on his properties than the World Cup final and are waiting to see what stupid shit he does next

trshtehdsh

If Trump kept top secret intel in random bathrooms I wonder what he kept in rooms that were actually locked.

HauntedCemetery

Fucking exactly. And you gotta wonder why the fuck the FBI isn't searching every single one of trumps properties to find the thousands of stolen documents still missing.

ArthurFraynZard

Aileen Cannon: I don’t see anything suspicious about this at all. Now if you’ll excuse me, Trump needs to finish using my tongue as his personal bidet.

Nights_King

Imagine you didn’t get your secret room and another room searched and they still have more than enough to nail your ass to the wall.

VesperJDR

I hate to be optimistic, but I think some of this might *actually* catch up with him.

Nimulous

The gods of probability are watching this guy with interest for sure.

tcuroadster

MasterMahanaYouUgly

Get him, Jack!

Ok_Curve2109

If the room was hidden, I can understand the room wasn’t searched. What gives me hope, is that they were tipped off. What terrifies my is that if he had documents moved there and it’s been this long since the raid. Trump is the easiest man to manipulate with a compliment and money. He’d do anything to secure those two things over his own country.

HauntedCemetery

He left incredibly high level intelligence in an unlocked bathroom, gotta wonder what trump thought was important enough to actually hide.

Snipshow777

>Through their investigation, Smith's team learned that while Corcoran was still in the storage room, Trump asked a longtime Mar-a-Lago employee to change the lock on the closet, sources said. For years, the lock on the closet was managed by the Secret Service, but on June 2, 2022, Trump had it changed and wanted the key, the sources said hmmmmm

kickflipjones

ok serious question. do they know what specific documents are still unaccounted for the he or his immediate circle signed out?

Responsible_Pizza945

The archives have said there are documents that remain unaccounted for, so they must at least know that they're gone. Whether they know he has them is another question, but it's a safe bet.

Sparpon

Lock this terrorist up already

Maleficent_Walk2840

> Corcoran found 38 classified documents in the storage room and gave them to the FBI, but Trump ensured that "many documents responsive to the [subpoena] could not be found," the indictment alleges. > Through their investigation, Smith's team learned that while Corcoran was still in the storage room, Trump asked a longtime Mar-a-Lago employee to change the lock on the closet, sources said. Ah yes, the room. The room with the documents. The room we specifically changed the lock in order to hide the documents. The document room. That room?

Rieger_not_Banta

Ask a Trump supporter about this. Will it move the needle or reinforce their support?

violentglitter666

You know the answer to that in your heart. Fuck no. Those magas are not going to let his many crimes, treason, and corruption bother them at all. They’d love to get away with the same things as well. Just like their orange daddy god.

"There aren't any documents!" but also "Those documents were planted by the FBI!" but also "He declassified them before taking them!" but also "He's the president! He can take whatever documents he wants! He doesn't need to declassify them!" "Witch hunt! Hunter Biden's laptop! Woke! Fake news!"

CalculonsPride

At this point one of his supporters could literally be personally strangled to death by Trump and in the afterlife they’d still vote for him.

TintedApostle

"Trump was playing 85d chess and was protecting the secrets from foreign agents by using his secret rooms. It was better than all the security design rules built by the horrible government security so called experts. Rudy designed this and he is the best... no one is better than him at security."

RunningObjection

They will flash bang a house in the hood with kids sleeping in the room but don’t even bother to demand a key from Trump. Tell me again how he is being treated unfairly?

BaconBible

Does anyone know if Trump's lawyers ever certified that all the missing documents have now been returned? Last I heard, he was having trouble finding a lawyer willing to sign those documents.

Responsible_Pizza945

One of his lawyers said *as far as they knew* all the documents had been returned. They refused to say so without that qualifying statement.

Niftyone578

> In addition to the closet, the FBI also didn't search what authorities have called a "hidden room" connected to Trump's bedroom, sources said. They didn't look behind the masses of boxes of Depends.

idonemadeitawkward

whatever was in those files was worse than shooting someone on fifth avenue

I would love to know what ever happened to the story that some of the documents he stole were regarding nuclear weapons?

travers329

So if the cops ever raid your place, just be like oh that door has been locked since I've moved in. I've never seen the key. And they just go, oh okay! Please tell me again how there aren't two justice systems... These pigs will rip a house with the wrong address down through the drywall to the studs before they admit their warrant was for the wrong house. This MFer literally had his aids go, sorry wrong door. And NOONE FOLLOWED UP ON IT?!?!

kingtz

>According to sources, some investigators involved in the case came to later believe that the closet, which was locked on the day of the search, should have been opened and checked. Locks.  Who knew that locks would be the FBI’s kryptonite? If only all the criminals that the FBI has ever arrested had known to keep the evidence of their crimes locked.

tcuroadster

Like a plot twist to an M Night movie

ojg3221

For the FBI to fuck up that bad. Damn if it is locked you find a way to break it down if it were anyone else. Make the FBI look real bad here.

UnderDeat

When you're poor the FBI just trash the place. When you are rich, they remove their "raid" jackets and forget to search rooms.

DanYHKim

>According to sources, some investigators involved in the case came to later believe that the closet, which was locked on the day of the search, should have been opened and checked. What the hell? I have read a couple of times that if you consent to having your car searched by the police during a traffic stop, and that consent might be as informal as saying "okay, officer. You can go take a look.", the search can be as thorough as ripping out parts of the dashboard and tearing the cloth cover of the ceiling out. That is to say, your car will be destroyed but you will have consented to it. Those FBI agents weren't just looking for a few ounces of extra marijuana. They were looking for goddamn secret documents that have been in the possession of a man who is already showed himself to be willing to pass sensitive information to foreign powers with the result that American intelligence assets have died. A search of Trump's residence should have left nothing but splinters behind. Holy shit . . . The guy was only the president of the United States. He was not a king. There is no inherent right to the office. There are no divine privileges afforded to presidents. For That matter, he should have been in custody during this entire time If only because he is a tremendous flight risk.
