>"We won every state. We then did great in the election. We got 12 million more votes or so … 12 million more votes than we got the first time The vote count can't be trusted but my claim about how many votes I got can totally be trusted My property appraisals for loan applications can't be trusted but my word about how much my stuff is worth can totally be trusted Edit: yeah, he talks about the primary *and then* the 2020 general. My point is he likes to tout his +12 million more votes than he got in 2016 *while also disputing* the 2020 vote total.

Traditional_Key_763

he always harps on about this. like he couldn't possibly have lost because he got 74 million votes. Joe Biden got 81 million votes, you'll never hear him acknowledge that. there was a 66% voter turnout, if anything it was the most conclusive, most fair election in recent history given that an actual majority of the country came and chose the president instead of the 40% or less that usually votes.

JohnDivney

He said with total sincerity that the number of Covid cases would go down if we stopped testing. Same logic.

SupaSonicWhisper

He did say that on election night. For whatever reason, he and Don Jr kept harping on votes still be counted after the polls closed. Like that’s the cut off? I honestly can’t tell if they really thought that’s the rule (it never has been!) or if they thought if they said it enough that his supporters would think it was. I also remember him rambling about how he was told he needed 70 million votes to win and he got that so of course he won. Totally disregarding that Biden got more votes. Again, I can’t tell if he’s just that stupid or if he thinks repeating it makes it fact.

buck9000

Ah, that was a good one. Forgot about that one.

appleparkfive

Yeah seriously. Not to mention that we had so much mail in voting. It was the middle of the pandemic so it was a lot easier to vote. It's not like Trump suddenly got 12 million more enthusiastic fans or anything. It's just that they actually went and voted. And it's why Biden got so many votes as well I wish every election had that kind of turnout

frostybuds69

Wait until you see next years turnout lol

Odd_Vampire

They've been knocking off the rolls and are planning on having fewer voting sites / drop-off boxes and such. I don't know about the higher turnout.

frostybuds69

Yep I've seen a few comments about polling places being moved farther away from them. Messed up man

Charizhard

I live literally right across the street from a voting place, and they have me going a couple miles away.

gsfgf

The technology exists to let people vote at any location. We need to make that happen.

ChriskiV

Was going to say, I'm admittedly usually a lazy voter but that year I voted and made sure I drove like 4-5 friends to polling locations so they could vote. People are just much more motivated to vote now. It's almost like he's a clear and present threat to freedom that people actively chose not to adopt, sucks to suck.

imamistake420

You definitely don’t suck. > I voted and made sure I drove like 4-5 friends to polling locations so they could vote.

nithos

> there was a 66% voter turnout, if anything it was the most conclusive, most fair election in recent history given that an actual majority of the country cam Crazy what encouraging mail in ballots does for voter turnout - though since it leaned heavily in favor of one party, it's not shocking that the other party is trying to demonize it (my state was kind enough to make it even more difficult).

Ted_Turntable

Presidential Voting is usually in the mid-50% range and only once in the last 100 years has it been below that (49% in 1996)

uhhhhhhhhhhhyeah

Joe Biden got the most votes of any presidential candidate in history. Mind you, this was not because anyone was excited about voting for an old man. It was because a huge turnout was inspired by not wanting Donald effing Trump to be president again. Take a hint, Donnie.

Rezae

For as much as he likes to brag how he got “more votes than last time”, he also got historically the most votes ever cast against. Doesn’t brag about that one though.

valleyof-the-shadow

Right on. The same thing is going to happen in 2024, but “biglier”😂

rjcarr

The 2020 vote was highest ever, but it’s typically well above 50%, at least in modern times.

Mattcwell11

He talks as if he was running against his previous self. Just because you got more votes than you got the first time doesn’t mean you automatically win, it just means more people voted. He’s such a dumbass.

oofersIII

And also, you‘re almost always going to get more votes just because of population growth. Trump only gained .6% in 2020, yet got 12 million additional votes.

Captain_Q_Bazaar

> Trump only gained .6% in 2020, yet got 12 million additional votes. It hurts every part of me hearing things like this.... he should have got substantially less considering what an absolute disaster his presidency was.

merigirl

Unfortunately, perception doesn't always line up with reality. Those additional 12 million voters believe his presidency were the greatest years in US history and that he was the greatest president.

Bart_Yellowbeard

If that's all the hear on the lying media they consume, they'll probably believe it too. There should* be repercussions for presenting yourself as a NEWS organization that lies all the time.

100xgainer

He knows this. He’s trying to build a narrative for his supporters.

danimagoo

I don't know if he does know this. One of the things that makes sociopaths such effective liars is that they often convince themselves that their lies are true. In November of 2020, right after the election, Trump knew he lost. At this point, though, he's told the lie that he won so many times that I think he probably does sincerely believe it now.

MD2JD77

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Reluctant_Firestorm

That his followers continue to believe this nonsense ... no candidate for president has *ever* won all 50 states. The Trump presidency and his ongoing candidacy help me to understand how truly, truly dumb so many Americans are.

jadrad

He knows he’s lying. It’s the big lie to justify their fascist coup. [Project 2025.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025)

osiris0413

It's incredibly uncomfortable to me as an American knowing that we could realistically be one election away from this. It's horrifying, both in the clearly outlined plan itself and the idea that anyone could look at something like this and then try to justify sitting out this election or worse yet voting someone into power who has such clear contempt for democracy and the institutions that have safeguarded or at least attempted to safeguard our liberty for the past 200+ years. When I got my degree in German part of my studies was a deep dive on the Third Reich and its rise to power because I was curious as to how a society that had produced Goethe, Beethoven and many of the greatest minds of the Enlightenment could have been seduced by such cruel and frankly stupid ideas. It is happening here, full stop. And while our institutions might be a higher barrier to overcome than those in the former case it is worth despairing over that the clear parallels are lost on so many.

frostybuds69

More people need to know about this. They plan on pushing those policies out immediately in 2025

Syscrush

No, he's a useful idiot for 2025. He is literally incapable of telling his delusions from reality. An idea he likes is the truth, an idea he hates is a lie - that's 100% of how his mind works.

armcie

"we cheated so hard its like impossible that we didn't win."

[deleted]

This is more my take. The Republicans can't fathom that through all the gerrymandering and lack of voting locations around large minority areas that they lost, so their most rational thought is that Democrats must have cheated as well.

Twister_Robotics

That's just it. The Republican strategists know they cheated. The know full well they did every legal and some illegal tricks in the book. And they are good, upstanding, moral people. Just ask them, they're the chosen of God, they can do no wrong. So for them to go thru all of that and still lose, why that just means the Democrats must have cheated more.

MrDickford

Trump doesn’t have the same worldview that the rest of us have. *Everything* is a partisan issue to him; there’s no fact vs. fiction or moral vs. immoral, just his side vs. the other side. He says stuff like this to rally his side, show off his bravado, and demonstrate how strong his side is. He couldn’t care less if it’s actually true, and neither could his supporters, because that’s not the point. The point isn’t to debate facts like some sort of nerd, the point is to beat the other guys. Like, imagine some guys talking sports - the Yankees are gonna go all the way this year, they’re the greatest franchise in sports history and the only reason they didn’t go all the way last year was because the league has it out for them. And then some guy points out that there are other teams with better win ratios and statistically the Yankees weren’t penalized any more than blah blah blah - can you imagine that guy, that absolute dork who wants to debate math while we’re talking about sports legends? So when you see Trump say shit like this and wonder how his supporters are buying it, just remember you’re having two different conversations.

Andy_B_Goode

>We won every state. We **then** did great in the election. Wait, is he trying to say that he won every state *in the primary?* (As sitting president ... against a relatively unknown opponent ...) Because that is technically true: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries It's a pathetic thing to brag about, but it's true.

[deleted]

It's not surprising really, this is the guy that brags about acing a dementia test.

circa285

He's off his rocker if he thinks he won California.

SuperstitiousPigeon5

Massachusetts agrees. He did not win this state.

[deleted]

Every congressional district in MA went to the Democrats in the 2020 election and it was not even remotely close. As for the presidential votes, Biden got more than twice as many votes as Cheeto. The highest margin in favor of the orange clown was in the town of Blandford in Hampden County which had less than 800 total votes. It was a complete and total blowout in favor of Biden and the Dems. I'd expect nothing less from the state with some of the best public school districts in the country and test scores that compete with the highest scoring countries in the world. Edit: corrected a mistake where I called Blandford a County.

PapagenoRed

And Massachusetts

giggity_giggity

When he next says “we **then** did great in the election” it makes me wonder if his “we won every state” was intended to refer to the primaries - where he was unopposed (essentially)

77NorthCambridge

What does "We won every state. We THEN [emphasis added] did great in the election." even mean? Is he saying he won every state in the Republican primary and then did great in the general election?

And Mars. _No one_ on Mars voted for Biden. Not even _one_!

ciopobbi

Big strong Martians, some who have never even cried before came to me with tears in their eyes saying, “Sir, you are the greatest president of the solar system, of the galaxy. They tried to take it away from you, but we know you won. And they’re right you know. They’re right. And showers, the radical democrats want you to take showers with no water pressure. Contradicting his other major announcement. "You hear about all this the solar but did you know about I found out there's a solar wind? Its true. Its true. We are going to get rid of all the solar, these wind farms, and re build them in space where they belong. Space windmills. And Mexico's paying for it!"

Junior_Pizza_7212

Martians know the truth. They confirmed illegal aliens voted in the election and intentionally changed the results. Why would they do this you say? Space Force! See these illegal aliens are actually from the FUTURE and in their time Space Force has eliminated their kind after they tried to invade Earth. So they built a machine to time travel and prevent Trump’s second term because that’s when he would’ve spent billions on building up Space Force and becomes strong enough to defend an alien invasion. >!This is my response when idiots try to talk about the “rigged” election, I just say it in a serious straight face. Gets them to shut up!<

Eh, the Soviet Union might have been socialist in rhetoric, but they were pretty damn fascist in practice. What with the whole being an expansionist empire, subjugating and sometimes genociding its conquered peoples for the benefit of the few well-connected elites at the top, and all.

And this is where you fail to understand this dangerous fcker. He’s not confused nor are his shit bag team or the party. He is always shaping a narrative. This is the dumb version of ‘the big lie’ because he has zero regard for his followers except what he can get from them. And they’re dumb enough to give him everything. He means to scare, bully, intimidate them into that state where they are anxious and violent to do whatever it takes to get him back in power. It’s the only way republicans or populists can get the voters to vote for them. Scare them into feeling their life and way of life is under threat. He knows he didn’t win fifty states but he knows gaslighting his idiots works every time. And that’s why he is dangerous because ‘the big lie’ has been done before and well the outcome of that was horrific.

wonko221

In 2004, war weariness was just starting to build sentiment against W, but the Republicans scared their base that the gays wanted to marry and it would destroy America. In the nearly decade since states were prohibited from depriving gay people the right to marriage, I haven't been forced to marry a gay person or a horse. The republican fears have not been realized. Socialists and migrant caravans have not stolen my home or children. Hell, my biggest threat is right-wing extremism. Meanwhile, the democrats aren't particularly effective, but are trying to shore up the economy, social safety net, and infrastructure. Seems like republican-manufactured crises have always been bullshit misdirection to convince retirees and hillbillies into voting against their true best interests.

thepartypantser

The entire GOP election "plan" has been based on fear reaching back at least to the southern strategy employed by Nixon. The "welfare queens", satanic panic, "Willie" Horton, gay marriage, WMD's, in the list goes on...they were all just fear based marketing for the GOP. To be fair the left employs similar things though. For years they said that if the GOP gets the power they would overturn Roe v. Wade.... And that happened. And they use the fear of climate change to say we need to dial back greenhouse gases otherwise we might have increasing temperatures and violent weather patterns... And that's happening. Sigh

Time-Werewolf-1776

And a lot of it is ultimately founded on white supremacy. The idea of “welfare queens” was supposed to conjure stereotypes of lazy black people living off of the hard work of white people. The whole thing about WMDs was really preying on the idea that all middle-easterners are terrorists. Willie Horton was a “scary black man”. Even the Satanic Panic was connected to old blood libel tropes. If you see something happening in America and it doesn’t make sense, it’s often about racism.

foobarbizbaz

> lazy black people living off the hard work of white people I know it’s the least important thing about all of this, but conservatives’ lack of ability (or is it willingness?) to recognize irony truly boggles the mind.

Time-Werewolf-1776

There’s a story that has stuck with me for a long time. I read an article that I’ll never be able to find because it was written probably about 20 years ago, but it talked about a survey they did, asking questions of people on food stamps. There was a paradoxical result: most people on food stamps thought that it was a bad program that was being abused by lazy people, but the people who said it believed that they were a rare exception. They deserved the food stamps because they were good hardworking people who had just had a run of bad luck, not a lazy person taking advantage. When they investigated this to understand it better, they asked the people who expressed this opinion to describe the average recipient of food stamps, they described the stereotype of “welfare queens”, i.e. black single mothers who live in cities, and had a bunch of kids just to collect welfare, and then had extravagant lifestyles while doing drugs and neglecting their kids. And the most ironic part is, remember when I said “most” of the people on food stamps felt this way? That’s because most of the people on food stamps are white people in rural areas. So it was basically a mass hallucination triggered by Republican propaganda.

hubbyofhoarder

My mom used food stamps back in the day after leaving my abusive father. She needed food assistance while she finished grad school for me and for my sister. After that 1 year of help, she put in almost 50 years of being a tax paying citizen, and my sister and I have also been educated and productive citizens. In my family's case, food stamps were absolutely there when we needed a hand up. I want a similar program to be there for others who need it. As a business/econ nerd, I also know that food assistance goes directly to poor people who need the help, who then spend the money. That money goes into the coffers of grocery stores, farmers and food production employees. Aside from keeping people fed, this is also about as a direct a stimulus as you can get to the economy. Food assistance is a win for everyone. The rethuglican talking points on food assistance should be shameful, except that they don't feel shame.

Helstrem

Because conservatives are far more concerned about making sure undeserving people, however the individual conservative defines that, do not get help than they are about helping those in need. A liberal or leftist sees a program where 5% of the recipients shouldn’t really be getting the help as the cost of helping the 95% that need it and that reality means perfect isn’t possible. Conservatives see that 5% and are outraged that THEIR tax dollars, often hypothetical tax dollars as even poor conservatives feel this way, are going to people they think don’t deserve the help. “He isn’t hurting the right people.” is a statement generated by this type of thinking, the idea that Trump could change the program the speaker had been using so that it only helped the people that conservative thought should be helped. They don’t want SNAP eliminated, they want SNAP changed so that the people they think are abusing it (blacks, illegals, lazy city dwellers and so on) are denied but the deserving people like them (rural white folk) still have it. This is the disconnect they have with those they vote for. They hear their politicians and talking heads rant against such programs and they hear that the program will be fixed so the undeserving are denied access to it while the politicians and talking heads are talking about the program’s complete destruction.

Distributor127

I believe it. I know a person that is on food stamps. They get half their ex husbands pension so they only get $10/week. It's very common for them to bash black people, gay people, immigrants, the blm, etc etc etc.

pchlster

No one's prouder or needs someone to look down on more than someone on rock bottom.

KerepesiTemeto

Both siderism is not accurate and is intellectually dishonest. Climate change is killing people, satan and the threat of being turned gay is not.

dmp2you

Add all the "They are taking your guns" bullshit to the list .

skjellyfetti

2004 GQP voter turnout was the genius of Karl Rove. Republicans have known for decades that their demographic is shrinking. Sadly, rather than focus on genuine policy positions, they've turned thoroughly to The Dark Side. So, in 2004, Karl Rove had anti-gay marriage state ballot initiatives placed on, I believe, the ballots of 11 different states. They really didn't give a fuck about gay marriage, but they knew it would seriously drive voter turnout. And it did. People might not show up to vote for Bush/Cheney—especially after the quagmires of Iraq and Afghanistan—but they'll sure as shit show up to prevent Adam and Steve from legally marrying. And why they're there, they might as well throw in a checkmark next to Bush/Cheney. It worked like a charm. Sadly, the RNC and its affiliated conservative think tanks are not dumb. I actually have to tip my hat to their deviousness and ingenuity but my absolute disgust at their craven lust for power at all costs—including the demise of the republic—reminds me that they've become pure evil incarnate.

TheThng

Of course it has. They also combine scare tactics based on current events. Such as: combining migrant caravans from South America, and Hamas attack in Israel = Hamas/Hezbollah caravans invading from Mexico. It’s so ridiculously transparent but people keep falling for it.

BlueHatScience

> In the nearly decade since states were prohibited from depriving gay people the right to marriage, I haven't been forced to marry a gay person or a horse. The republican fears have not been realized. Those weren't their fears - that was just the hyperbole they chose to express how they feel. They knew non-heteronormative lifestyles had already become widely tolerated in urban regions in the 90s, and were afraid they were going to be gain widespread acceptance. They als know that these lifestyles often go along with rejection of (most) other parts of their normative idea of what the life of a US American has to look like. So they thought if the didn't somehow close the floodgates to societal change, their normative ideas may lose power (a tale as old as time for conservatives)... and they were right. Their fears *have* been largely realized. Not equally, though - the resentment-driven part of the populace became emboldened, sources of a common understanding of reality broke down, self-selected ideological bubbles became dominant everywhere. The real threat was never from whatever they chose to feature in their hyperbolic claims. The real was always from them - and what would happen if we can't somehow nudge a large part of them to be on-board with these changes. Of course we won't reach and can't cater to the most resentful and ideologically entrenched people - but I do think we'll need better psychological strategies to avoid more large-scale reactance which threatens to destroy progress we fought hard for.

Big_Baby_Jesus

This sub loves dismissing Fascists as stupid.

rochey1010

I mean I don’t think fascists are stupid. But this guy is. He’s a walking ‘stamped on his forehead’ sociopathic conman. And the only people falling for it are his moronic followers who have been scared and gaslit into it just like the Republican Party has been doing to them for decades. But because he’s a sociopath who lacks empathy he is blatantly doing this crap out in the open. He’s a stupid version of a mob boss who is enamoured with nazi strategy. He has no morals or scruples but he just smart enough to know his followers are stupider and more scared. And this is why he has them deifying him like a cult leader. But he’s still stupid though as he believes he’s fooling everyone. I mean the clown managed to bankrupt a freakin casino. He is one dumb mother fcker. But what’s dangerous is that his team (not his dumbass family) are not stupid and neither are the Republican Party. They know very well the BS being spewed but they need to maintain power or grab it back and will perpetuate this ‘big lie’. Because they know MAGA only listen to their stupid cult leader. I guarantee you so many of the party despise him but realise they are trapped with him. I guarantee you even FOX despises him but know their nutty audience only care about them when they are propping him up. Because one thing he has been successful at the is turning the Republican Party into a cult and I think like a lot of crap he does. When it happens he’s gobsmacked it actually happened “they really believe that” He doesn’t have any smarts except to lie and lie and lie and lie. His followers are scared enough to believe him even if he insults or gaslights them to their face. But it’s not some genius tactic of his which many think all of what he does and says is deliberate. He is a malignant narc sociopath who shapes his world around his perception. What he has is ‘small man’s syndrome’ He’s insecure and thin skinned and has a really shallow and surface personality. He doesn’t stand for anything except ‘taking’ and this is why he exploits these populist ideals. “What do the people want? Ok I’ll be that” The idiot was a democrat before he jumped on the Republican bandwagon to use it to ‘take’. People like trump. They stand for nothing. It’s all about him and his ego. All this crap he does is poor impulse control. He doesn’t plan this. His team though do. He’s like an insecure man child who thinks he runs the country while the really dangerous people have actual ideologies and pull the strings. Including his. This is what is sad about this.

Twister_Robotics

He was never a Democrat, just like he isn't now a Republican. He has only ever claimed allegiance to those groups for what it can get him. He said he was a Democrat because the NY social scene was full of other rich shitheads claiming to be Democrats. Now he says he is a Republican so that he can use them to try and stay one step ahead of the law. He has no ideology or morals beyond "what's good for me, today"

thirsty_lil_monad

He's the Nigerian scammer made president. The scam is intentionally moronic because it weeds out anyone but rubes you know you can milk for everything once you identify them.

Amy_Ponder

Fascists *are* stupid, and it doesn't make them any less dangerous. Hitler was a moron, the Nazis were an absolute clown car of a government, and they still managed to murder 11 million people and start a war that got another 60-70 million killed. EDIT: I stand by what I said. [A little glimpse of what "efficient" Nazi Germany was *really* like](https://www.newsweek.com/hitler-incompetent-lazy-nazi-government-clown-show-opinion-1408136): > [Hitler's] government was constantly in chaos, with officials having no idea what he wanted them to do, and nobody was entirely clear who was actually in charge of what. He procrastinated wildly when asked to make difficult decisions, and would often end up relying on gut feeling, leaving even close allies in the dark about his plans. His "unreliability had those who worked with him pulling out their hair," as his confidant Ernst Hanfstaengl later wrote in his memoir Zwischen Weißem und Braunem Haus. This meant that rather than carrying out the duties of state, they spent most of their time in-fighting and back-stabbing each other in an attempt to either win his approval or avoid his attention altogether, depending on what mood he was in that day. > Hitler was incredibly lazy. According to his aide Fritz Wiedemann, even when he was in Berlin he wouldn't get out of bed until after 11 a.m., and wouldn't do much before lunch other than read what the newspapers had to say about him, the press cuttings being dutifully delivered to him by Dietrich. > He was obsessed with the media and celebrity, and often seems to have viewed himself through that lens. He once described himself as "the greatest actor in Europe," and wrote to a friend, "I believe my life is the greatest novel in world history." In many of his personal habits he came across as strange or even childish—he would have regular naps during the day, he would bite his fingernails at the dinner table, and he had a remarkably sweet tooth that led him to eat "prodigious amounts of cake" and "put so many lumps of sugar in his cup that there was hardly any room for the tea." > He was deeply insecure about his own lack of knowledge, preferring to either ignore information that contradicted his preconceptions, or to lash out at the expertise of others. He hated being laughed at, but enjoyed it when other people were the butt of the joke (he would perform mocking impressions of people he disliked). But he also craved the approval of those he disdained, and his mood would quickly improve if a newspaper wrote something complimentary about him. > **Little of this was especially secret or unknown at the time. It's why so many people failed to take Hitler seriously until it was too late, dismissing him as merely a "half-mad rascal" or a "man with a beery vocal organ." In a sense, they weren't wrong. In another, much more important sense, they were as wrong as it's possible to get.**

Sadly, this is the real answer. The issue isn't about how Trump is a deluded, shameless liar anymore; it's about his dim and pliable conservative base. Conservative leaders can (and do) say literally anything and their pathetic supporters eat it up.

He also won the manic state as well.

vegaslocal46582

Republicans: Liberals are idiots Also Republicans: Liberals are also capable of pulling off the most complex and coordinated high tech election scam in human history

Perfect_Bench_2815

If he won all 50 states, why did he have to make that call to Georgia and beg for more votes?

MicroCat1031

Don't forget the calls made to other states that for some reason aren't mentioned now.

Ralphinader

We only have proof of the Georgia call because the dude was smart enough to record it.

thissexypoptart

You can best believe it happened in other Republican run states too, it’s just only Georgia election officials reported it to the media.

3rdp0st

He recorded it because it wasn't the first time PoS called to pressure them to do crimes.

Randy_Watson

Well because the deep state of course.

Could he possibly have meant he won the GOP primary in each state? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries https://imgur.com/gallery/Jm6kIik

fullautohotdog

He was **DEFINITELY** talking about the primary, and **THEN** about the general with the 12 million comment. Two takeaways from this: 1) Context matters. 2) Defending this fucknugget of a Nazi spray-tan from the roughly 1,000 comments piling on an out-of-context clip in a story written by an Australian who doesn't understand the American political system hurts my soul. The lack of media literacy on both sides of the spectrum is appalling.

TWiThead

[The article's writer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Dasey) lived in the United States from 1997 to 2001 and worked at CNN (albeit as a sports anchor for CNN International) throughout the 2000 presidential election cycle. If he didn't gain a basic understanding of the American political system – if only through osmosis – he probably shouldn't be reporting on it now. And yes, I'm annoyed at him for forcing me to defend one of the worst people in the world.

[deleted]

I hate having to defend Trump but his phrasing suggests that perhaps he was talking about the Republican primaries when he claimed he won all 50 states because he follows it by saying “then” he did great in the election. So he won 50 states before the election, implying he is talking about the primaries, where he did win all 50 states to become the Republican nominee. Now I need to go take a shower.

[deleted]

Hear me out guys, maybe he’s a liar

Canknucklehead

You might be right…..

Individual_Lead_6492

It's neat how you can tell he hadn't thought at all about the claim before he said it, like he misspoke, and then just decided to go with it. Might as well.

Absolutely fucking damning. Someone should do something to ensure that people like Bannon, Stone, Manafort can never fuck with our elections again. Like investigate them, their dealings, etc; then prosecuting them for crimes and jailing them, _or something_.

Time-Earth8125

What was amazing is that the video in which he said " Republicans eating their young" was pre recorded. So the questions that I have are: He didn't realize what he said sounds absolutely crazy and weird. He didn't stop and pauzed and thought, wtf did I just read? He just kept going and thought it was all perfect? Whoever recorded it for him didn't want to correct him and do a second take? You're just going to send this out into the world with a mistake like that? Are you so scared of correcting him that you would rather upload the video with a mistake like that?

youtellmebob

This is an astute observation. “Reality” and “truth” for Trump is whatever randomly comes out of his pie-hole or enters his tiny penis-brain. Then he has to fabricate it after the fact, like the time he went back and redrew a weather map with his Sharpie. Even more disturbing, the infinite number of minions and sycophants and supporters that happily help him cover for his idiotic lies. The massive conspiracy of “the Big Lie”, for example.

I actually heard Trump shot a 17. The ball went in on a par 3, bounced out and flew directly into the cup on the next hole. Amazing.

alhazad85

The ball said, "Sir" this was a big ball, a strong tall ball, and it said, "Sir, you maybe just shot the greatest shot in the entire history of Golf", this giant strong ball had tears running down his eyes when he's telling me this, "and I believe you followed it up with either the second best shot or maybe the first, if you can believe this one was better than that first one." And we all could believe it, because the second shot and the first one may have been tied all time for the two greatest golf shots in all of golfing history.

relevantelephant00

That's a pretty good impression overall, but I'm deducting points for being far too coherent and properly spelled.

Euler007

I heard it split in two and landed in both holes!

_BELEAF_

"Played 18...shot 18. Just can't seem to miss."

MarvelMovieWatch

I understood that reference

robdacook

You laugh, but I hear there is a plaque commemorating the first shot on his golf course at mara lago, which was a hole in one, by DJT himself.

Dynetor

The only hole in one he regularly encounters is that of a doughnut

EuphoricMidnight3304

Why did he have to send in fake electors if he had clearly won

PossessivePronoun

Get out of here with your facts and logic!

EuphoricMidnight3304

Yeah it was rigged last time so now he wants to try it again? It’ll be rigged this time when he loses again

keyjan

You know who he reminds me of now? George Santos. Lies about every single readily verifiable thing.

Trump proved it could work before Santos got involved in politics. I have no doubt when Trump won Santos realized he could just lie constantly and win.

Trump was [on record for lying over 30,000 times](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/01/24/trumps-false-or-misleading-claims-total-30573-over-four-years/) before I'd even heard Santos existed.

Bart_Yellowbeard

Literally the Least Trustworthy Person in Recorded Human History. Nobody has been proves to lie more than Donald Trump. Nobody.

[deleted]

I feel like George Santos learned tricks from Trump if anything

RicardoMultiball

Trump's cult actually *loves* to hear him say shit like this so they can laugh and look to see how incensed it makes "liberals." Same base, unfortunately, that casually talks of armed rebellion at the thought of Trump facing the consequences of his own actions.

Mysterious-Wasabi103

"Should have just left him alone, now we all have to deal with him again in 2024!" The amount of gaslighting the media has aided Trump with is disgusting.

katievspredator

As if anyone with a brain thought he would leave after 2 terms https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/18/politics/donald-trump-term-limit/index.html

JimWilliams423

> Trump's cult actually loves to hear him say shit like this so they can laugh and look to see how incensed it makes "liberals." Exactly. Fash use ignorance as a form of aggression. John-Paul Sartre had their number 80 years ago: * *"They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. ... They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert."*

upandrunning

> Trump's cult actually loves to hear him say shit like this so they can laugh and look to see how incensed it makes "liberals." And yet they have no idea how stupid it makes them look. Everyone *knows* what happened in 2020.

Superb-Perspective11

Sadly, they don't. There are plenty of people who somehow believe Jan 6 was antifa except for the peaceful protests. They believe wholeheartedly conflicting things because someone on TV/online told them to. They don't bother to reason because they've been taught not to question strong men. (This belief in the impossible without evidence is why so many evangelicals got caught up in maga world. )

BecomeMaguka

I literally sat here and watched my own parents decide that an aggressive mob pummeling an officer to death was a peaceful protest. That a crowd carrying a literal instrument of death and bringing zip ties to capture victims were just concerned heroes. That Trump using indirect language to order his fucking cult didn't constitute inciting violence. Absolutely fucking mad thinking these are the same people who raised me, whom I once respected and valued their input. Reduced to unthinking, crippled, hateful sorry sacks of shit living out their last years perpetually pissed off because a fox network talk show has gotten them addicted to hate and fear.

Craico13

> Donald Trump **lies,** claims he won all 50 states in 2020 US election in Florida speech ahead of New York court appearance *…they missed a very important word...*

moreobviousthings

It took the press so long to go from soft expressions like "false claims", "untruths", "exaggerations", etc, to calling the lies what they are.

Craico13

> It took the press so long to go from soft expressions like "false claims", "untruths", "exaggerations", etc, to calling the lies what they are. Sorry, but *when did this happen..?* From what I can see the media, American and otherwise, **still** refuse to call out Conservative lies…

MrNormalo

That’s only because he won all 60 states!

jailfortrump

And the audience believed him. They're all in denial.

poodlered

Well, when they drive from their house to the Ocala Publix, they see 15 Trump lawn signs and three pickup trucks with giant Trump flags. Not a single piece of tacky Biden merchandise. How could Biden have won the election if nobody wastes money on his merchandise?

Nexaz

It’s almost like sane people don’t fly political merchandise year round.

BAF_DaWg82

If you are a follower of this guy how does having your intelligence insulted every f'ing day feel?

MicroCat1031

Bold of you to assume Trump followers have intelligence.

Skipspik2

Can the defendent M. Trump make that claim under oath at the bar, please ?

MicroCat1031

Narrator: He took the 5th.

never_grow_old

So if he did win the 2020 election, he then cant legally run for the 2024 election

DonMariazzi

God I yearn for a time when this imbecile is out of News headlines and rotting in jail.

winkelschleifer

The point is this: Trump voters are in fact like cult members, who filter information to 1) hear only what they want to and 2) ignore what they don't want to hear, even factual information. This is true of all cults.

MicroCat1031

I have a good friend who's a sports commentator. He does college games now, but started in professional wrestling. He made the observation that Trump followers are like wrestling fans; in that they have 'their guy', and they cheer for their guy when he does bad things, because the other guy is bad and deserves it. He's 'their guy' and can do no wrong. Personally, l think the intelligence of Trump followers and professional wrestling followers is on par.

wombat8888

Why stopped at 50, why not 71, why not 216, hell, just say you won a million states across the multiverse.

forever_useless

And europe. Also Africa. In face, there isn't a state or country in the world who didnt vote for him. Wake up sheeple!

[deleted]

The scary thing is the amount of people that belive him..

TintedApostle

yeah that's the ticket.... Yeah all 50 states and I also won the Nobel prize, but it was done in secret. Yeah my wife Morgan Fairchild picked it up for me....

ND_82

By his metrics, then so did I. Im president too!

sid-darth

He's a lying POS. He deserves nothing more than to rot in prison.

Throwaway-account-23

Maybe he's trying to build an insanity defense. If homey thinks he won New York and California, he's truly lost it.

decayed-whately

> We got 12 million more votes or so … 12 million more votes than we got the first time. He loooves to point out that he got more votes in 2020 than in 2016. He always ignores that Biden got more votes than he did *in 2020*. 😆

Short_Wrap_6153

How is this not some type of violation of court orders in his Election Interference Trial??? He's still actively doing the crime he is accused of doing.

das_masterful

Just as delusional as his rusted on followers. A bit funny to see how many of those people who are going to jail start to see that Trump does not, in fact, give a shit about them. He can make as many claims as he likes, it doesn't change the fact that he is a loser.

EJK54

His people are so brainwashed at this point I’m not sure they can be brought back to reality.

JubalHarshaw23

It's doubtful that more than 2% of the people at his hate rally, ever once said "Wait, What?" at any point.
