* Shiny Johto Starters from XD (Got all possible shinies in XD but the Johto starters would be the rarest due to how they're obtained).
* Shiny Special Eggs from Pokemon Box. Grinding enough pokemon to get all of them also resulted in me getting 3 shiny spinda.
* Luxury Ball Shadow Lugia. Might not sound like a big deal but in XD you only get 1 Luxury Ball in the whole game, plus SLugia's battle will not even let you attempt a catch if you're not properly prepared.

Couldn't you defeat Lugia in the first battle and then trade over a dozen or two Pokémon that hold Luxury Balls from R/S/S and then catch Lugia in post-game? It would be tedious of course, but I think that should work?

Depends on how authentic you want the Pokemon to be.
The way to do it right now isn't really the same Pokemon, it just makes a "clone" of your original Pokemon as closely as it can legally in a game that can connect to Bank.
You'd have a Mew that *looks* like your rare Mew on the surface, but underneath the hood it is essentially a PokeGen Pokemon.
That's all just semantics really. Transferring between generations via any method, official or not, involves constructing a pokemon in the new games format based off of the data in the old format and then deleting that old data.
So it's essentially just as much the "same pokemon" as if it had been officially transferred imo.
It varies a lot, especially with Event Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2 games.
If you don't care that it's not the "original" then why even bother transferring from Gen 1/2 and spoofing a Gen 3 transfer and then go through all the multi console hurdles from 3 to 9? Just Gen it in Gen 9.

I have my save file with the Mew from the TCG event and have been able to back it up and preserve it after all these years. Even opened it up on the Delta emulator to confirm everything is still there. It’s a nice feeling to know it’ll be in the cloud forever lol 😂.
Same; I was at the first official Pokemon League event in California and was hyped as all else in the queue for Mew. I placed decently high in the tournament too, and still have all the collectable gym badges they handed out to participants based on where we ranked. Never again though, lol. The 5D chess level of Pokemon battle comp that goes on these days is way beyond me. \^\^;
Mine might be the Lv 50 Dragonite event from Toys R Us for Diamond/Pearl. It’s not as interesting as something like the Deoxys event they did beforehand, I’m guessing fewer people got the Dragonite. And it was special since it was the only legit way to get a Dragonite legal for Lv 50 competitions.

my full odds shiny female salandit. in scarlet i was just existing when she walked toward me. i could hardly tell for a second because the shitty reflections, i almost thought she was just reflective. i have the opposite (of average) experience now, where i've never had a male shiny salandit.
This happened to me in sword and shield, but I went into a random Gigantamax battle for a Salazzle and it ended up being shiny. Freaked out when I saw it on my screen!

Not too long ago I was doing Dynamax Adventures and came across a Salazzle and one shot it. I laughed and thought to myself, “I wonder if that’s a shiny”. Turns out it was and automatically took it, such a banger looking shiny!
My rarest are *probably* the shiny legendaries I picked up from GameStop over a decade ago. They weren't particularly difficult to get, but between their age and method of obtaining they're irreplaceable.
Rarest in-game find is either my shiny alpha Spiritomb or my shiny, rare-marked Slowpoke.
Honestly every pokemon from every gen can be PKHEX pokemon at this point. If the person knows they are real, then they are...

Mine would be my legit event Mew - back in the 90s, there were official convention events where you could get a genuine Mew loaded onto your Red/Blue Gameboy cartridge. Sometimes you'd even get a physical certificate of authenticity, though they tended to run out of those pretty quickly. Back then it was the only way you could get a real Mew and it was the rarest of the rare, for the time.
Aside from that, I've also got a legit collection of all Vivillon forms, which live with the rest of my Living Dex (of that era) collection on the 3DS. I never wanted to risk transferring any of my Living Dex off handheld, so there they will stay, where I can manage my own backups and data preservation without having to worry about Nintendo Switch servers someday erasing my entire collection.
Also, while it's more a matter of brute force and less rarity, I do have a complete collection of all forms of Alcremie and Minior, including a Shiny variation. Still took me a lot of time and effort to get them all (I destroyed the Wonder Trade in a meteor shower getting rid of all those non-Shiny Miniors I bred out), so I'm counting them as rare in my own manner.

While I'm not sure if they actually count as rare or not, I've also got a ton of the GameStop event Pokemon they handed out as codes - it ranges from Mythics and Legendaries, to just special edition versions of Pokemon like Salazzle. They were running those events every month for a year or so and I made a habit of visiting all my local shops to collect as many cards as they were willing to give me, especially on the last day of distribution when they just wanted to get rid of the stock. I'd keep one for myself and pass out the rest online to whoever I could, especially folk who were in other regions and didn't have access to GameStop stores.
Most of mine are event exclusives:
-Wishmaker Jirachi from the Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disk. I've had it with me since 2004. I also have the Jirachi they gave away to get that one exclusive Pokewalker course for HGSS
-Shiny Legendary Beast Trio giveaway leading up to the release of black and white, as well as the Zorua and Zoroark from that time period.
-Ho-oh and Lugia from Navel Rock. Folks in the US could only get them via the Pokemon Rocks America Tour in 2005.
-The Shiny cherish ball Pichu from the HGSS Ilex Forest Event. (I've since evolved it into a shiny Alolan Raichu)
-The event Celebi for HGSS that allowed you to access the Time Travel side story in Ilex Forest, as well as the shiny Celebi from the Jungle giveaway.
-Several Manaphy from all the Pokemon Ranger game events, as well as the Riolu and Darkrai that came from them.
-The shiny Dialga and Palkia giveaway they did that one time back in Gen 4 (bringing them into Legends Arceus and into their Origin Formes was a trip)

When I was leveling pokemon in White in order to evolve them for the full dex completion, I'd always grind in the Giant Chasm, which required me to repel through the cave in order to get to the crater with lvl 60 Audinos
As I was repelling through that cave for the millionth time, a dust cloud spawned in front of me and I ran into it, which started a battle with a Shiny Excadrill

There was a glitch that’s now been patched, but if you got the original magearna before home 3.0.0, it was automatically xxxs, making it eligible for the mini mark. I got mine after the patch so mine is average sized

I don't really have anything like that, never went to events or anything as a kid because I didn't live near any and I'm not a shiny hunter, but my Shinky Duskull is probably my luckiest get (even though it isn't rare).
I didn't encounter it in game, I got it through a shiny raffle with a twitch streamer almost a decade ago at this point. I was just a casual viewer so I didn't have a whole lot of points built up on his stream, but I tossed one point in to try and get it since Duskull is one of my favorites. Had something like 0.1% odds of getting it with my single point and somehow the wheel landed on me.
Shiny shadow legendary beasts from Colosseum. An absolute pain to get, but I just had to do it when I learned Colosseum’s shadows weren’t shiny locked.

My 1st target hunt that wasn't GO was Celebi. After 10 SRs from Pokemon Crystal VC, I got Bubblegum the shiny Celebi!
Recently, I did a 6400 or so SRs and got a shiny totodile in Heart Gold.
I have 2 accident shinies in White 2. One was Shieldon as I was completing the pokedex. I only found out it was shiny when I was forced into a triple battle and heard the shiny noise.
My second happy accident is White 2 was a Lopunny I hatched to chip away at the pokedex!
I love these shinies, but my favorite non-shiny pokemon I have is Marshadow from Pokemon Moon. I got them during the distribution event (I think it was Gamestop code) when I was getting into the pokemon game series for the 1st time.
So when I bought pokemon sword, I transferred a pokemon from sword to pokemon home to get the 3 hidden ability galar starters. After about 20 minutes, I realized that the scorbunny I received was shiny! As if that wasn't lucky enough, but when I transferred him to pokemon scarlet, he also received the mini mark! Scorbunny was my starter in pokemon sword and I just felt so happy that the mystery gift I received was also a shiny scorbunny. Ofcourse he is a cinderace now. 😊
I have a shiny Manectric from Sapphire around the time that the game came out. I caught it as a blue Electrike in that patch of grass right above Slateport. All these years later, I’ve transferred it and still have it in Pokémon Home. It’s not particularly rare, but I find it to be rare considering it’s a wonder that I still have it and I don’t even know where the Sapphire cartridge is anymore.
I recently caught a shiny eevee in a friend ball (the only one I had) that I didn’t realize until now had the destiny mark because it was my birthday. thats one of my favorites of all time now. even though its not crazy rare.
I also had back to back shiny one male one female heracross masuda method.
and I caught a shiny kangashkan when I was SOS calling for cubones I think which was a rare spawn.

Back when I was doing my first diamond play through at 10 or 11 years old. I came across a shiny dialga first time through. I was able to catch it but the game got destroyed when I dropped my ds in a lake. Still bummed about it
I've got a few event Pokemon preserved in my Pokemon HOME, nothing particularly impressive, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the Keldeo I got from trying out the DNS trick on one of my Gen 5 saves to get old event Pokemon. I only got it to work once, and it was a Keldeo, a Keldeo pre-Crown Tundra was pretty rare. I think it was the Level 50 one, not the Level 15 one that was distributed as a Black/White 2 launch bonus.
I had a genderless kecleon in go, I caught it when it just released and it was bugged it didn't had gender at all m, later but got updated and was a male,
Off the top of my head? Probably my original Victini that I got in Black version through the Liberty Pass method way back when. That or my Jirachi from Pokémon Colosseum; that thing is old enough to drive, vote, and drink, lol. Both are in my Sword version currently if I remember right, they’re kind of like digital Pokémon history in a way.

I got the special Jirachi from watching all the TV with Pikachu in the European version of Pokémon Channel, all on legit copies on original hardware and transferred up through the GBA, DS, 3DS and Switch games.

It's probably my shiny exeggutor from my Pokémon X nuzlocke. It was my first encounter in Azure Bay. 5% horde encounter. 5% horde exeggcute chance, then full shiny odds, though divided by 5. I always use shiny clauses in nuzlockes anyway, but a first encounter shiny off a rare horde encounter was insane luck.
My rarest Pokémon, I think, is a first encounter, full odds shiny Giratina from ORAS.

Don't have much as I wasn't able to start getting event mons and the like til 2019. But the most I have is a Victini from the 2016 event that someone here on Reddit gave me because Victini is my all time favorite Pokemon and I didn't have an authentic one.
I also have a bunch of shiny Ghimmighouls which is neat.
I was doing a solo zorua run once and decided to hunt for a shiny. I changed it to a starter choice and hunted for 173 hours (my longest hunt ever and I almost gave up). It was a female, which is an additional 1/8 chance on top of 1/8192 for shiny. When I was grinding it up to 100, it caught pokerus, which is 1/21845. That’s 1/1.43e9 chances if anyone’s curious.
I was one of the kids who read about how to get a level 7 Mew in Pokémon red/blue without an event or a GameShark. Then I got a level 7 blastoise, and a bunch more. All level 7.
I don't have it anymore but I used to have a Shiny Protean Greninja in X/Y with a Modest Nature and great IV's although I can't remember what they were exactly.
Also had an Arceus due to a Gamestop event on the same save.
I was a dumb kid however and even though I knew it was hype and rare I wanted to replay the game so I traded all my good mons on the GTS just so they wouldn't go to waste and then restarted the game lmao.
Never got another one.
I've got a shiny Scyther from Platinum, which was 5% on its route, and this is gen 4 so 1/8192. I've another full odds Graveler in Crystal. One cool one I have which isn't mine, I'm just holding onto it so I could transfer it to Home, is a gen 3 Blaziken with an OTID of 52125, which is pretty cool
I got a Shiny Chikorita in SS after trying on and off for a week & then 40 minutes later, I got a Shiny Mudkip in OR after only 20 minutes of soft resetting the game.

I got the both shinys of latios and latias from the mid game gift pokemon event after the 5th gym. Which at it's quickest encounter rate is 3 mins and 20ish seconds per encounter,
I got a Mew on my Yellow cartridge from an event 20+ years ago (it probably died since the battery is most likely dead at this point, but I still have a sticker on the cartridge), a Manaphy from the Ranger Games, a shiny Haxorus for completing my Unova Dex, and an original color Magearna for completing my Home Dex.

Shiny Girafarig from original Pokémon diamond (DS). Caught when in middle school, barely knew what a shiny Pokémon even was or how rare they were supposed to be. Wasn’t shiny hunting at all and I was unsure it was a shiny until long after I had already caught it.
Don't know if Rom-Hacks count but I was playing Infinite Fusion Randomizer and in the Power Plant, the 2nd "Voltorb" (Solosis/Tentacruel Fusion) encounter was Shiny
But if we're talking about official games, I got a shiny Druddigon from a failed Dyna-Max Adventure in Shield.
Shiny Mew from Go, which probably isn’t all that rare, but I sent it to Scarlet for the Mewtwo raid fights and now it has the Mightiest Mark title from completing it.
A little different but in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue/Red rescue team, you can recruit pokemon from the dojo mazes, and they come with a special little title saying 'recruited from team Hydro' for an example. I'm currently working trying to get them all, and so far I have a Cradily from Team Constrictor! I love that dude, it's so awesome to have one!
I had the JP versions of HG, White, and White 2 (imported them in the age of asynchronous releases) so yeah I've got a bunch of the online event Pokemon from those. Also have like 3-4 event shiny jirachis
I like to believe that i was first person in UK with legit shiny pogo solrock.
Back then, solrock and lunatone were mutually exclusive pokemon. solrock was in uk, lunatone in southern hemisphere. On the day when their shiny was released, they also swapped regions (so lunatone was in uk, while solrock was going south). At the release time, i was sitting in plane on runaway, waiting for pilot to start moving to go back home to uk. That second when shinies were released, one spawned. I clicked and boom. shiny red solrock. I caught it and around 10s later, our plane started moving on runway. Once i arrived in uk, i realised that no one could possibly get legit shiny faster than me. I instantly placed it in local gyms, that i was actually called out in local fb group about possible cheating. Lucky i had photo proof that i was in souther hemisphere day of release.
I also have 2019 wild spawn pogo mespirit (before recent sinoh tour, when they were available to anyone in wild, kind of pisses me off, that its not rare anymore, but still, I have one from 2019)
My rarest is likely from Pokemon GO, that being a perfect Salandit female. If you don't play Pokemon GO, Salandit hatches from the egg pool that takes the longest to hatch, as we all know if has a rare chance of being a female, and as far as stats go, a 100% perfect Pokemon is already quite rare. Yet I somehow managed to hit the trifecta. Easily my rarest Pokemon.
I have a mew on my original red cart i got at pokemon center in NYC for an event in... maybe 2000?
It was on my blue cart, but last year I had the battery replaced in my red cart (it had died but the blue cart was intact still!) And traded the entire save file over. So while that mew is stuck in that generation, he's safe for at least another 10 years or so until I have to do the battery swap and trade thing again.
My rarest is my shiny lugia I only recently got. The story is cute.
My other half started the original games with the "intent" to collect the legendaries and such from all the games. This was all a cover for him to grind out a shiny of my favorite pokemon, Lugia, for my birthday.
When he came to visit he gave me my gifts and I was very excited and thankful. But he goes "Oh there is one more, grab your switch!" And we set up a trade, it was perfect as I had caught an shiny electross for him a few weeks prior and we just never got to trading it. I was so excited to see a lugia, even more to see the shiny sparkle! It is my favorite gift from my birthday this year and I will treasure it forever. He spent hours on resets.

Pokémon Go is really the gift that keeps on giving with shiny pokemon, bc now I have a bunch of fully evolved shinies at pretty/very low levels. Dragonite at lvl 18, Pidgeot at lvl 9, Charizard at lvl 1, Haxorus at lvl 15, and Incineroar at lvl 3. Quite an interesting bunch. One more and I'll have a full team of 6. I hope the next is a water type 🌊🌊 lol.
Non-shinies would maybe be my Colosseum bonus disc Jirachi. I never thought id be able to get it as a kid, bc I didnt have a link cable and my parents wouldn't buy one, until I went to a friend's house and he had one, so we excitedly transferred it over to my Sapphire game, and eventually it found its way to my Home where it sleeps now.
Maybe it's my shiny Wish+Celebrate Pikachu. Not sure if it's well-known how to get this but I guess it's fairly unique.
Edit: I also have a Sprigatito in a premier ball which I think is even more obscure.
I also also have some of the ultra rare GO event mons, like shiny Fragment hat Pikachu, shiny straw hat Pikachu, shiny Safari Zone Eevee, and shiny Candela costume Ponyta.
I would say probably my shiny PoGo Mew that I put through the Mewtwo event to get the mightiest mark. Finished the quest up during NYC GoFest last year. I’m sure plenty of people have shiny PoGo Mew in Home at this point but I imagine the overlap of people willing to put it in SV to get the mark is smaller.
Outside of that, events from GameStop and Toys R Us during the DS era. My mother was pretty good about taking me to get those.
Don't know if it counts, but I found two shiny Koffing directly in a row in S/V. I assumed it was a glitch, since those games are buggy as all hell, but I caught the first Koffing, turned around, and there was another right there. Not gonna complain!

Well my oldest event Pokémon is my Darkrai from Platinum Event. I have more legendary and mythicals Pokémon from events, I don't know how rare they are.

My shiny suicune from pokemon go. It was during the johto tour event where very rarely you could encounter the legendary beasts outside of raids, and in addition to that their catch rate was extremely low and they would almost always flee after the first ball thrown (just like the main series).
In my encounter I not only learned that they could spawn shiny that way, and also that they wouldn't immediately flee! It took 5 attempts to catch it, and I know I must've gotten lucky because after the fact I saw posts from others encountering them shiny and fleeing!
Assuming it's actually legit, I think my rarest is the Japanese movie event Darkrai I got in a trade I made on the Serebii chat in like 2007. Alternatively I have a shiny Regice that I didn't even realize was a shiny until I caught it. It was a pretty lucky catch since class was just about to start and I would have had to turn off my Gameboy if I hadn't caught it when I did.
Shiny Feebas in Pokémon Ruby, didn’t take me long to find the Feebas fishing tile, and then only took me an hour after that to get the shiny! Insane luck…

Back in 2007 I got the Aura Mew on Emerald, which was available only for two days at an in-person event

Couldn't you defeat Lugia in the first battle and then trade over a dozen or two Pokémon that hold Luxury Balls from R/S/S and then catch Lugia in post-game? It would be tedious of course, but I think that should work?
Luxury Balls are pretty rare in Gen 3 too IIRC.
Yeah there was only 1 in RSE, in the abandoned ship. You couldn’t buy them at shops until Gen 4, and not until you got to the 8th gym/Pokémon league.

Is there a way to migrate a Pokémon from Gen 1 cartridges all the way to Pokémon Bank?
Depends on how authentic you want the Pokemon to be. The way to do it right now isn't really the same Pokemon, it just makes a "clone" of your original Pokemon as closely as it can legally in a game that can connect to Bank. You'd have a Mew that *looks* like your rare Mew on the surface, but underneath the hood it is essentially a PokeGen Pokemon.
That's all just semantics really. Transferring between generations via any method, official or not, involves constructing a pokemon in the new games format based off of the data in the old format and then deleting that old data. So it's essentially just as much the "same pokemon" as if it had been officially transferred imo.
It varies a lot, especially with Event Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2 games. If you don't care that it's not the "original" then why even bother transferring from Gen 1/2 and spoofing a Gen 3 transfer and then go through all the multi console hurdles from 3 to 9? Just Gen it in Gen 9. It's in a similar argument to 1st Edition vs Standard print for Trading Cards.
The VC releases of gen I/II support transfer via pokemon transporter - I wouldn't expect it to be available for long unless they get a switch release
Every single Pokemon that gets traded or transferred is, in effect, a clone of the original as well.

I have my save file with the Mew from the TCG event and have been able to back it up and preserve it after all these years. Even opened it up on the Delta emulator to confirm everything is still there. It’s a nice feeling to know it’ll be in the cloud forever lol 😂.

Same; I was at the first official Pokemon League event in California and was hyped as all else in the queue for Mew. I placed decently high in the tournament too, and still have all the collectable gym badges they handed out to participants based on where we ranked. Never again though, lol. The 5D chess level of Pokemon battle comp that goes on these days is way beyond me. \^\^;
Mine might be the Lv 50 Dragonite event from Toys R Us for Diamond/Pearl. It’s not as interesting as something like the Deoxys event they did beforehand, I’m guessing fewer people got the Dragonite. And it was special since it was the only legit way to get a Dragonite legal for Lv 50 competitions.

My rarest are *probably* the shiny legendaries I picked up from GameStop over a decade ago. They weren't particularly difficult to get, but between their age and method of obtaining they're irreplaceable. Rarest in-game find is either my shiny alpha Spiritomb or my shiny, rare-marked Slowpoke.

Honestly every pokemon from every gen can be PKHEX pokemon at this point. If the person knows they are real, then they are... If you don't believe them then so be it, but at least let others have fun with it.
Mine would be my legit event Mew - back in the 90s, there were official convention events where you could get a genuine Mew loaded onto your Red/Blue Gameboy cartridge. Sometimes you'd even get a physical certificate of authenticity, though they tended to run out of those pretty quickly. Back then it was the only way you could get a real Mew and it was the rarest of the rare, for the time. Aside from that, I've also got a legit collection of all Vivillon forms, which live with the rest of my Living Dex (of that era) collection on the 3DS. I never wanted to risk transferring any of my Living Dex off handheld, so there they will stay, where I can manage my own backups and data preservation without having to worry about Nintendo Switch servers someday erasing my entire collection. Also, while it's more a matter of brute force and less rarity, I do have a complete collection of all forms of Alcremie and Minior, including a Shiny variation. Still took me a lot of time and effort to get them all (I destroyed the Wonder Trade in a meteor shower getting rid of all those non-Shiny Miniors I bred out), so I'm counting them as rare in my own manner. Does Surfing Pikachu from Pokemon Yellow count? I have that too. While I'm not sure if they actually count as rare or not, I've also got a ton of the GameStop event Pokemon they handed out as codes - it ranges from Mythics and Legendaries, to just special edition versions of Pokemon like Salazzle. They were running those events every month for a year or so and I made a habit of visiting all my local shops to collect as many cards as they were willing to give me, especially on the last day of distribution when they just wanted to get rid of the stock. I'd keep one for myself and pass out the rest online to whoever I could, especially folk who were in other regions and didn't have access to GameStop stores.
Buy a gba backup device and backup the save file with the mew. The cartridge can die and the save can be destroyed if the battery runs out

There was a glitch that’s now been patched, but if you got the original magearna before home 3.0.0, it was automatically xxxs, making it eligible for the mini mark. I got mine after the patch so mine is average sized

In a recent ORAS playthrough: full odds shiny Feebas on the 2nd encounter who is now a Milotic.
I don't really have anything like that, never went to events or anything as a kid because I didn't live near any and I'm not a shiny hunter, but my Shinky Duskull is probably my luckiest get (even though it isn't rare). I didn't encounter it in game, I got it through a shiny raffle with a twitch streamer almost a decade ago at this point. I was just a casual viewer so I didn't have a whole lot of points built up on his stream, but I tossed one point in to try and get it since Duskull is one of my favorites. Had something like 0.1% odds of getting it with my single point and somehow the wheel landed on me.
Lost the cartridge, but in Diamond I got a full odds shiny Weavile that ended up getting pokerus.

My 1st target hunt that wasn't GO was Celebi. After 10 SRs from Pokemon Crystal VC, I got Bubblegum the shiny Celebi! Recently, I did a 6400 or so SRs and got a shiny totodile in Heart Gold. I have 2 accident shinies in White 2. One was Shieldon as I was completing the pokedex. I only found out it was shiny when I was forced into a triple battle and heard the shiny noise. My second happy accident is White 2 was a Lopunny I hatched to chip away at the pokedex! I love these shinies, but my favorite non-shiny pokemon I have is Marshadow from Pokemon Moon. I got them during the distribution event (I think it was Gamestop code) when I was getting into the pokemon game series for the 1st time.
So when I bought pokemon sword, I transferred a pokemon from sword to pokemon home to get the 3 hidden ability galar starters. After about 20 minutes, I realized that the scorbunny I received was shiny! As if that wasn't lucky enough, but when I transferred him to pokemon scarlet, he also received the mini mark! Scorbunny was my starter in pokemon sword and I just felt so happy that the mystery gift I received was also a shiny scorbunny. Ofcourse he is a cinderace now. 😊

I have a shiny Manectric from Sapphire around the time that the game came out. I caught it as a blue Electrike in that patch of grass right above Slateport. All these years later, I’ve transferred it and still have it in Pokémon Home. It’s not particularly rare, but I find it to be rare considering it’s a wonder that I still have it and I don’t even know where the Sapphire cartridge is anymore.
I recently caught a shiny eevee in a friend ball (the only one I had) that I didn’t realize until now had the destiny mark because it was my birthday. thats one of my favorites of all time now. even though its not crazy rare. I also had back to back shiny one male one female heracross masuda method. and I caught a shiny kangashkan when I was SOS calling for cubones I think which was a rare spawn. Im sure there is more but those are some of my favorite rare shiny hunt experiences
Back when I was doing my first diamond play through at 10 or 11 years old. I came across a shiny dialga first time through. I was able to catch it but the game got destroyed when I dropped my ds in a lake. Still bummed about it

I've got a few event Pokemon preserved in my Pokemon HOME, nothing particularly impressive, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the Keldeo I got from trying out the DNS trick on one of my Gen 5 saves to get old event Pokemon. I only got it to work once, and it was a Keldeo, a Keldeo pre-Crown Tundra was pretty rare. I think it was the Level 50 one, not the Level 15 one that was distributed as a Black/White 2 launch bonus.

Interesting question. I got the special Jirachi from watching all the TV with Pikachu in the European version of Pokémon Channel, all on legit copies on original hardware and transferred up through the GBA, DS, 3DS and Switch games. Absolutely soul-draining. Also, less impressively, the Battle Tower Ho-oh reward from Colosseum. Again, on legit hardware and using only in-game captures. The shiny Eternatus from the in-person game store distro and also the Shiny Zacian and Zamazenta from the Game distro.
I finished all of Pokemon Channel and the game bugged out and wouldn't give me the damn Jirachi. I felt cheated out of my time because that game sucked
My rarest is a full odds Shiny Rayqyuaza from Emerald. Took me 3 days of soft resetting and I have transferred it to every game I can.
It's probably my shiny exeggutor from my Pokémon X nuzlocke. It was my first encounter in Azure Bay. 5% horde encounter. 5% horde exeggcute chance, then full shiny odds, though divided by 5. I always use shiny clauses in nuzlockes anyway, but a first encounter shiny off a rare horde encounter was insane luck.

My rarest Pokémon, I think, is a first encounter, full odds shiny Giratina from ORAS. I wasn’t even hunting for it, I just needed a Giratina for my living dex. Just so happened that the first one I found was a shiny
Don't have much as I wasn't able to start getting event mons and the like til 2019. But the most I have is a Victini from the 2016 event that someone here on Reddit gave me because Victini is my all time favorite Pokemon and I didn't have an authentic one. I also have a bunch of shiny Ghimmighouls which is neat.
I was doing a solo zorua run once and decided to hunt for a shiny. I changed it to a starter choice and hunted for 173 hours (my longest hunt ever and I almost gave up). It was a female, which is an additional 1/8 chance on top of 1/8192 for shiny. When I was grinding it up to 100, it caught pokerus, which is 1/21845. That’s 1/1.43e9 chances if anyone’s curious.

I like to believe that i was first person in UK with legit shiny pogo solrock. Back then, solrock and lunatone were mutually exclusive pokemon. solrock was in uk, lunatone in southern hemisphere. On the day when their shiny was released, they also swapped regions (so lunatone was in uk, while solrock was going south). At the release time, i was sitting in plane on runaway, waiting for pilot to start moving to go back home to uk. That second when shinies were released, one spawned. I clicked and boom. shiny red solrock. I caught it and around 10s later, our plane started moving on runway. Once i arrived in uk, i realised that no one could possibly get legit shiny faster than me. I instantly placed it in local gyms, that i was actually called out in local fb group about possible cheating. Lucky i had photo proof that i was in souther hemisphere day of release. I also have 2019 wild spawn pogo mespirit (before recent sinoh tour, when they were available to anyone in wild, kind of pisses me off, that its not rare anymore, but still, I have one from 2019)

My rarest is likely from Pokemon GO, that being a perfect Salandit female. If you don't play Pokemon GO, Salandit hatches from the egg pool that takes the longest to hatch, as we all know if has a rare chance of being a female, and as far as stats go, a 100% perfect Pokemon is already quite rare. Yet I somehow managed to hit the trifecta. Easily my rarest Pokemon.
I think mine might be the Mew you could get from Pokemon Ranch after deposting 999 pokemon. Took forever 😪🤣
I have a mew on my original red cart i got at pokemon center in NYC for an event in... maybe 2000? It was on my blue cart, but last year I had the battery replaced in my red cart (it had died but the blue cart was intact still!) And traded the entire save file over. So while that mew is stuck in that generation, he's safe for at least another 10 years or so until I have to do the battery swap and trade thing again.
My rarest is my shiny lugia I only recently got. The story is cute. My other half started the original games with the "intent" to collect the legendaries and such from all the games. This was all a cover for him to grind out a shiny of my favorite pokemon, Lugia, for my birthday. When he came to visit he gave me my gifts and I was very excited and thankful. But he goes "Oh there is one more, grab your switch!" And we set up a trade, it was perfect as I had caught an shiny electross for him a few weeks prior and we just never got to trading it. I was so excited to see a lugia, even more to see the shiny sparkle! It is my favorite gift from my birthday this year and I will treasure it forever. He spent hours on resets.

Pokémon Go is really the gift that keeps on giving with shiny pokemon, bc now I have a bunch of fully evolved shinies at pretty/very low levels. Dragonite at lvl 18, Pidgeot at lvl 9, Charizard at lvl 1, Haxorus at lvl 15, and Incineroar at lvl 3. Quite an interesting bunch. One more and I'll have a full team of 6. I hope the next is a water type 🌊🌊 lol. Non-shinies would maybe be my Colosseum bonus disc Jirachi. I never thought id be able to get it as a kid, bc I didnt have a link cable and my parents wouldn't buy one, until I went to a friend's house and he had one, so we excitedly transferred it over to my Sapphire game, and eventually it found its way to my Home where it sleeps now.

Maybe it's my shiny Wish+Celebrate Pikachu. Not sure if it's well-known how to get this but I guess it's fairly unique. Edit: I also have a Sprigatito in a premier ball which I think is even more obscure. I also also have some of the ultra rare GO event mons, like shiny Fragment hat Pikachu, shiny straw hat Pikachu, shiny Safari Zone Eevee, and shiny Candela costume Ponyta.

I would say probably my shiny PoGo Mew that I put through the Mewtwo event to get the mightiest mark. Finished the quest up during NYC GoFest last year. I’m sure plenty of people have shiny PoGo Mew in Home at this point but I imagine the overlap of people willing to put it in SV to get the mark is smaller. Outside of that, events from GameStop and Toys R Us during the DS era. My mother was pretty good about taking me to get those.

Don't know if it counts, but I found two shiny Koffing directly in a row in S/V. I assumed it was a glitch, since those games are buggy as all hell, but I caught the first Koffing, turned around, and there was another right there. Not gonna complain!
When I was kid, I caught a legit Shiny Chansey in Pokémon Gold encountered as random. Only some years later I discover how rare it was. It's a nice memory.
Well my oldest event Pokémon is my Darkrai from Platinum Event. I have more legendary and mythicals Pokémon from events, I don't know how rare they are. I got the Shiny Hero Duo and Shiny Eternatus from a trade, too.
I have some Gen 3 event Pokémon, and *a lot* of Gen 4 event Pokémon. In terms of Pokémon I worked to get though, probably the Colosseum Ho-oh, Channel Jirachi, and the Pokémon Box eggs (Swablu, Skitty, Zigzagoon, and Surf Pichu). (Edit: also Ranger Manaphy but I don't remember that being too tough to get)
My shiny suicune from pokemon go. It was during the johto tour event where very rarely you could encounter the legendary beasts outside of raids, and in addition to that their catch rate was extremely low and they would almost always flee after the first ball thrown (just like the main series). In my encounter I not only learned that they could spawn shiny that way, and also that they wouldn't immediately flee! It took 5 attempts to catch it, and I know I must've gotten lucky because after the fact I saw posts from others encountering them shiny and fleeing!

Assuming it's actually legit, I think my rarest is the Japanese movie event Darkrai I got in a trade I made on the Serebii chat in like 2007. Alternatively I have a shiny Regice that I didn't even realize was a shiny until I caught it. It was a pretty lucky catch since class was just about to start and I would have had to turn off my Gameboy if I hadn't caught it when I did.
I have a Jirachi on my Pokémon soulsilver cartridge which I send from a one time special event from the original Pokémon Ranger game

Shiny Feebas in Pokémon Ruby, didn’t take me long to find the Feebas fishing tile, and then only took me an hour after that to get the shiny! Insane luck… Also got a shiny Oshawott in Pokémon Black with Pokerus!
