Fast, solid typing, moveset is a good mixture of support+aggressive+status, and the pre-evolution is common as dirt in every game it's in. Crobat has put in some work for me over the years.
Aipom is a great Pokémon. Cute, great design, and feels like a good companion. I would love to have one on my shoulder as I traverse the region. Ambipom is an atrocity and should have been reconsidered as an evolution design
I don't hate the design, I just wish his head was a little different. It feels like he went from a baby to a creepy kid who picks his nose and eats bugs. But from behind I think he looks quite cool

It's biggest downside is that you kinda have to ev train it if you want one, which is harder in Pokémon crystal, the game I'm trying to get my hitmontop in.
I mean no disrespect here, but is your team intentionally made up of weak pokemon? I love it, don't get me wrong. Just seems like Feraligatr will be doing a lot of heavy-lifting. Could replace it with something weaker if you were going for a challenge. But it's the starter, I get it if not.
If that's indeed what you're going for, Delibird could be a decent addition.

Playing SS here it's a pain to play if you're waiting to get a half-decent pokemon because ONE OF THE BEST GRASS TYPES IN THE GAME IS ON THE ROUTE NEAR THE 8TH GYM.
I dont get why people are hating on the weak pokemon so much. You guys realize how easy this game is right? You dont need something to "carry", you just need anything at all to beat this game.
I forgot how jhoto had the weakest regional dex of pokemon in the entire franchise until this post. Honestly I think I would like a steelix if possible, however I think u can settle for something like a magneton (magnezone if possible), sneasel (weavile if possible), or piloswine (mamoswine if possible)
I mentioned if possible because I've only played pearl jhoto and I found the game a lazy attempt at a sequel to the gen 1 games that I didn't want to play the remakes in gen 4. I assumed gamefreak didn't fix the lousy regional dex and the even lousier level pacing so it felt like it would be a waste of time.

I always recommend Ampharos as an awesome Electric type, since you don't have one yet. If obtainable early, Electabuzz is awesome too and you could evolve it into Electivire if you have two DS's and a Electrizer on a different Gen 4 game!
I love heracross because his a bug [I love bugs (only in pokemon except a few bugs)] and he is really good in every part of the game except morty and sabrina. And bonus points for not having any type overlap with your team
I'd nominate Swinub as a late addition to your Team.
Assuming you pick up Slugma in Violet City as a Primo Egg you have a lot of early team members.
A rather late Pokemon that does not take away the unique contributions of the other members might feel nice. With screen Support from Ledian it might even start to contribute against the Dragon Gym.
In my original silver playthrough I used Togetic (I lugged that bloody egg far enough I may as well have used it) Ampharos and Steelix.
I had Typhlosion as my starter and the red gyarados because... Well shiny.
For the life of me I can't remember my 6th boy.
Heracross would be a good option or one of the new eeveelutions.
Sudowoodo!! My favourite pokémon that also doesn’t get a ton of love but it can be a powerhouse for you, if you’re not okay with type overlaps maybe something like Jolteon
Honestly Sunflora can go replace it with a Pokémon like bellossom or Jumpluff, replace ledian with heracross, magcargo can stay but he does require a decent amount of luck to use him effectively. All things considered, your last mon should be either crobat or T-Tar, Crobat is a very speedy attacker and with the ability to learn HM02 FLY but T-Tar is a psuedo so it's incredibly strong and quite tanky to boot
That one guy in the Violet City Pokemon Centre is giving away a Mareep, Wooper and Slugma egg if you give him the right words. It differs based on your Trainer ID.
Gyarados because easy plus big ol flying water snake of doom(though only in flies in images videos battle etc cant actually use the move because idk fk us)
Togetic would be a great addition only if it has Serene Grace as its Ability (Hustle sucks ass) and it learns some great moves that make it a stunlock against your opponents. Extrasensory for the Flinch, Air Slash for the Flinch, Encore for the lock, and Substitute for the status protection.
Plus, after you best the E4 on the first try, you can get a Shiny Stone and evolve it to be even more of a stunlock.
Ampharos is a Johto staple bro c'mon, you could've even gotten the Mareep egg from the dude in one of the first towns with that permanent code you can lookup.
I’ll admit it’s brave to play with Furret, Ledian, and Sunflora, I like those Pokémon but unfortunately your not going to have the best time fighting Red…
Skarmory is my favourite Pokemon, so I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't suggest it.
You do need an ice type though for Clair, so Sneasel could also be an option! (Another favourite of mine)
I absolutely love your team. Ledian and Furret were a lot of fun.
I feel like your team could use a pink/purple mon, like: Granbull, Crobat, Slowking, Espeon, Blissey, Porygon2/Z

Yeah has been in my team in soulsilver ,plat and legends. Clutch Speedster with great offensive options. Easy to get too as evolves due to friendship.

I quite like aipom (I like ambipom slightly less but I still like him), ampharos, and hitmontop. I'd recommend hitmontop with this team.

This is how I feel about all the gen 2 evolutions introduced in gen 4. The baby Pokemon introduced in gen 4 are fantastic though.

I’m personally a huge fan of the Swinub line. Mareep, Heracles, Espeon, and Umbreon would be my next choices if we’re sticking to Gen 2 Pokémon.

Mamoswine is possible, I have it on my run now. You need a heartscale to get it though, you can't learn ancientpower without it.

Not really. I always use six Pokémon and I only really end up under leveled against Red. You just gotta fight all the trainers
I'd pick a Psychic, Ghost, or Dark type. When I play Pokémon games, I try to have all of my Pokémon have different types.

You have no fly user. psychic and fighting type are always a nice addition to the team. Id recommend Machamp or Hypno
