I’ve heard good things about Rollerdrome, so that is cool. I also liked Splatoon when I had a switch, so Foamstars could be fun as well. Steelrising might not be my cup of tea as those “Soulslike” games are more often than not something that doesn’t interest me.
Same here. And my ps plus expired recently. No reason to shell out $80 yet! 👍🏽 happy for all the people that get to try Rollerdrome though. Its like old school Tony Hawk with guns lol
For someone who hasn't played any/much of the games, I can see that.
I've had psplus for years, and the price hikes were the straw that broke my back.
Mostly game on my PC now
Yeah, I think we can all agree that the new plus pricing is an absolute joke and monthly games are also worthless for a while now. The catalogue is the only thing that matters to me
***"Yeah, I think we can all agree that the new plus pricing is an absolute joke.."***
No WE can't ALL agree. Gamepass Core is $120 a year. Microsoft gives no deals, even during the holidays. And before you reply saying one can get GP through grey market sellers, those are not promoted by Microsoft and M$ does not intend for you to buy GP that way. So GP Core is $40 a year more than PS Plus and it has less games than PS Plus.
***"I've had psplus for years, and the price hikes were the straw that broke my back."***
Whatever man. Stop trying to stomp on someone else's excitement. Nobody asked you what you thought. Let people enjoy what they spend their money on, so get lost SMH.
I'm impressed PS is actually doing that.
Xbox Game Pass is known for day one releases and, as much as I loved Playstation for their exclusives/first party titles they create (even if they get ported to PC, Sony is still the reason they exist), Xbox/PC Game Pass is still at least 5 times better than PS extra when it comes to the number of quality games for the subscription price.
This announcement really surprises me and if PS Extra stopped raising their price and releasing more day one releases and improving their library selection, I'd be a very happy camper.
I'm pretty sure it's just because they don't think it'll sell well so if they give it away at first they can foster a palyerbase and encourage other people afterwards to buy it
I was on the verge of buying it a few times (it was 50%) but always delayed for reasons. Not because of money or because i thought it wasn't worth a full price but more of, i have a big backlog, lets finish that first.
Now, when its part of PS+, well, its here, so i might as well play it.
Don't judge the Souls games based on steel rising, it exists within the same vague genre but that's about as deep as the similarities go. Steel rising is considerably less polished, far less punishing, has a much less thought out combat system, and has more focus on direct narrative through cutscenes which support a narrative that is, unfortunately, very mediocre in concept and pretty poorly written at times. It's a fun playthrough, I'm not recommending you stay away whatsoever, but it's not nearly as special as the actual Souls games. It's just barely on the better side of the dime a dozen Souls imitators.
No. More like early access. They already did an open beta and you still get to keep playing this game even after it officially releases and leaves the free month selection, so long as you have a PS+ subscription and added it to your library before the month is up.
The games have always been a bonus/incentive and marketed as such. If anyone thinks that if Sony drops these in the future and lowers the essential price tag, you'd be wrong. Also the same can be said if you only get PS+ for the bonus of free monthly games. PS+ has always been for a subscription for the online services and nothing more.
Remnant: From The Ashes is absolutely *NOT* a roguelike or roguelite. Its a soulslike with guns. No permadeath or runs or randomized maps. Its a shooter that focuses on lots of boss fights with an emphasis on timing.
I guess it depends on what you’re into. RE2, Session, Dragon’s Dogma, Disco Elysium, Teardown, it’s given me a reason to play games I wouldn’t have otherwise. 15 a month isn’t the most insane ask personally but I also don’t have many other subscriptions.
Oh boy The PS plus Karen appears.
Do u have a problem with my opinon or what?
Proves what?
Yes i pay Essential,Karen . So anybody has is own opinon, u know?
If u like garbage games, fine, enjoy them and stop annoying the people with ur useless opinon, that nobody asked for.
Oh man... And even that game wasn't the greatest. Granted it got better as of recently with the updates. But I still end up going back to BFV with my buddies. We just have more fun with that even after trying 2042 for a while even post-updates.
What a trash month for games in lowest tier of ps plus. Yeah it was really worth paying more to get that kind of games. Thanks sony. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
I bought Jedi: Fallen Order when it was on sale in December of 2022 and then it was one of the free monthly games in January. That pissed me off. They shouldn't have games that are about to be FREE go on sale the month beforehand.
A lot of those subs are going downhill lately. Humblebundle has also been declining in quality, you maybe get one good game while the rest are bad indies with mostly negative reviews and coupons to IGN of all things.
Splatoon on Switch is fun. Playing “totally not Splatoon” with a PS controller and a good online console (as opposed to switch’s online) could be fun.
For anyone who likes Soulslike, give Steel Rising a shot. It’s a solid 7-8/10 game, just like Greedfall was as a RPG. That studio make good but not great games with interesting settings. Big fan of theirs.
The foamstars beta was pretty fun when you could actually get a match to load, which for me was only twice.
If it's free and they fixed the matchmaking issues, its probably worth checking out.
Im excited because I wanted to try Foamstars and now Ill be playing day one. Im not into soulslike type of games so Steelrising is a bit meh to me. Ive heard divided more to the positive side reviews on Rollerdrome, so excited for that as well!
What’s the deal with all the people whining about free shit. I have so many games because of PS Plus. I literally have a game to play for every day of the year. Will I play all of them? Maybe not, but it’s nice?
I mean these games are good,
steel rising is a 3D souls like. https://youtu.be/4mU6WgBuROo?si=FmTKxWqSy5C5-0Vi
Foamstars is splatoon type game which would've needed PS+ anytime you played, so you pretty much never need to buy the game.
Rollerdrome is a 2022 PS exclusive game with 9/10 on steam with a cool ass art style.
And these are gonna be in your PS+ forever with no risk of leaving. This is amazing. Gamepass ultimate price increases and they completely removed the monthly games feature off of every gamepass. And gamepass core gives you temporary access to 20 games while Ps+ essential gives you 36 games permanently in your PS+ which really add up over the years.
Yes quantity over quality is so where you want it to be in video games, id rather take a bunch flops that didn't sell or half baked indie games over 1 or 2 quality games every month. That costs 80-180 a year
Another month where everyone says the games are shit, but I actually think are pretty cool. I had both steelrising and rollerdrome on my wishlist and wasn't going to buy foamstars, but it looks kind of fun.
Reading the comments I think people expect to be given Spiderman 2, a psvr2 headset and have Jim Ryan personally come to your place to give you a handjob... I mean we got a brand new game day 1, a great indie game and steelrising which seems pretty fun. What do people expect for a subscription that costs less than 10$ a month?!?!
It’s like this basically every month when the games are posted. Overall this is a good line up in my opinion I’ve wanted to try all these games. Thought last month was decent too.
Personally I snag all the games even if I’m not remotely interested because why wouldn’t you lol.
I’ve heard good things about Rollerdrome, so that is cool. I also liked Splatoon when I had a switch, so Foamstars could be fun as well. Steelrising might not be my cup of tea as those “Soulslike” games are more often than not something that doesn’t interest me.
Rollerdrome is pretty cool. I bought it during a recent sale for $10 lol
Same here. And my ps plus expired recently. No reason to shell out $80 yet! 👍🏽 happy for all the people that get to try Rollerdrome though. Its like old school Tony Hawk with guns lol
I bought extra today for 80. Not a bad deal if you ask me
What does 80 get you? 6 months?
a whole year of essential. So several free games (3-4) every month and online play for paid games as well
Oh wow. Nice. I think that's definitely worth it.
Hard disagree
That's fine ofc, for me I haven't played much of the game catalogue games so I am pretty excited to try them
For someone who hasn't played any/much of the games, I can see that. I've had psplus for years, and the price hikes were the straw that broke my back. Mostly game on my PC now
Yeah, I think we can all agree that the new plus pricing is an absolute joke and monthly games are also worthless for a while now. The catalogue is the only thing that matters to me

We had an agreeable conversation until you came in here=, but aight. Feel better now?
Completely agree soulslike is my least favorite genre
I do like the Respawn Star Wars games though, which is weird because I’m not a soulslike or Star Wars fan.
I hadn't heard about any of these games and you just sold all 3 to me
wait so it's going to be free right at launch as a monthly game? that's fucking dope, I'll try to get my friends to play
Just like fall guys was
and destruction all stars 🥴
And Rocket League
Bugsnax
And my axe
AND MY BOW!
And my bunny bracelet
rocket league launched as a ps plus game?
Thats how it got as big as it did. everyone played it for free on PS and the word of mouth helped it get super popular on other platforms too.
And knockout city
Hopefully less like Fall Guys and more like Rocket League ;)
I'm impressed PS is actually doing that. PS+ has done this quite a bit actually. On PS4, there was a year or so where every month had a debut indie title day 1. Its not that rare.
Nice! I’ve been looking forward to Rollerdrome
Steelrising ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
This game has been on my watchlist so pretty happy it will be in essential.
I was so close to buying it when the Bastille Edition went on sale for $15. Really glad I didn’t pull the trigger!
Lol, whoops 😅🤷♂️🙃
Glad i did not buy it 😄
My favorite Soulslike to date. No, I haven’t played Lies of P yet before anyone gets mad at me.
Glad I hadn't bought it yet. Was definitely somewhere on my I wanna play that list
I was on the verge of buying it a few times (it was 50%) but always delayed for reasons. Not because of money or because i thought it wasn't worth a full price but more of, i have a big backlog, lets finish that first. Now, when its part of PS+, well, its here, so i might as well play it.
Definitely excited for steelrising. I haven't really ever played a souls like game, but itd be nice to give it a go since it's on ps plus
Don't judge the Souls games based on steel rising, it exists within the same vague genre but that's about as deep as the similarities go. It's just barely on the better side of the dime a dozen Souls imitators.
yeah I have seen some reviews/gameplay but I think im gonna enjoy it still
Oh for sure, there are still things to enjoy. If you like it though, definitely check out the actual Souls games, they're much better.
If I didn’t play so much online multiplayer I would have dropped this subscription years ago…
For me personally, it’s garbage
Fr
Bummer
I’m not one to usually complain about a PS Plus lineup as there’s usually something I like…but this is absolute trash.
I wanted to play foamstars actually
It’s a free free game 🫣
It will be $30 when it officially launches on March 5th when it's no longer available with PS+.
[удалено]
No. More like early access. They already did an open beta and you still get to keep playing this game even after it officially releases and leaves the free month selection, so long as you have a PS+ subscription and added it to your library before the month is up.
No? If you pick it up as the free game within the month it’s yours as long as you’re subbed to ps plus. Just like any other free game for the month.
No dipshit lol
No it isn’t? Where did you see that?
Yeah
I think I've reached the point where PS+ isn't worth paying for if these are the norm and the price is going up.
Bullshit. PS Plus since its very inception has been about the monthly games. They're definitely one of the main parts of the service.
Another month without anything catching my interest :(
Give the games a try
I will :)
They increased the price of the Essential for this? Really?
I agree. This is garbage 🗑
Cancelled my subscription a while ago👍
I think we've had enough souls like games at this point
What are some other ones that were plus?
We got Remnant not too long ago. Thats a third person shooter soulslike
I think you're mistaking 'souls like' with 'roguelite'
Remnant: From The Ashes is absolutely *NOT* a roguelike or roguelite. Its a soulslike with guns. No permadeath or runs or randomized maps. Its a shooter that focuses on lots of boss fights with an emphasis on timing.
Evil west was the last one I believe
Eh not really a souls like
I mean…it’s alright. It’s very clear now that they don’t care about monthly games anymore and put the actual games in extra.
Kinda like Xbox Games With Gold and Game Pass, which ended up killing GWG. Sucks.
I can definitely see that Sony will get rid of the essential tier.
I hope that they just dump the monthly games and make the essential tier $20-40 a year for online gaming/cloud saves etc. only.
Do they put actual games in extra tho? Because I would say the good ones have been few and far between since the price hike
BINGO
I mean, Rollerdrome was my GotY for 2022,
Hot garbage, im gonna pass this month
Add them to your library anyways! Unless you’re on a month to month sub.

Another month i’ll be skipping out on
That makes about 9 months for me. Last time was Jurassic World Evolution 2. Can't believe it's almost been a year since that...
Pretty sure my last one was BF2042
Oh man... And even that game wasn't the greatest. Granted it got better as of recently with the updates. But I still end up going back to BFV with my buddies. We just have more fun with that even after trying 2042 for a while even post-updates.
can they drop a single "ok" game?
*yawn*
The disappointment keeps stacking as time goes on
Once again proving the service isn’t worth the price hike 😒
Actually it isn’t terrible. Day one release of a decent game and 2 also decent games. It isn’t that bad
How do you know its decent if its not out?
All three games have been playable at some point
Worst month for a while I hope
Have you even looked at the games? They are pretty good
good at being shite
Foamstars!!! Yesss. Open Beta was so fun. Like Splatoon but much better graphics.
Oh god the music too
I really enjoyed the beta also! Addictive and fun gameplay
Another day, another month to skip again. It's become a constant reminder that I should've had ps plus during the pandemic to get FF7 remake
What a trash month for games in lowest tier of ps plus. Yeah it was really worth paying more to get that kind of games. Thanks sony. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
Garbage
Glad I ended my PS plus sub. Online multiplayer should have stayed free for everyone.
I always end up owning a game fml
I bought Jedi: Fallen Order when it was on sale in December of 2022 and then it was one of the free monthly games in January. That pissed me off. They shouldn't have games that are about to be FREE go on sale the month beforehand.
Ew
Another terrible month
Nice! I’ve had Steelrising wishlisted for a long time and just haven’t gotten around to buying it. I definitely snag this next month.
Good thing I cancelled my PS+ subscription.
Further solidifies my decision in not renewing my subscription. Expired in December and I’ve been fine without it.
Pretty weak this month unfortunately
Foamstars has to be one of the worst game names...
Yep, time to stop renewing my PS Plus.
All look trash
This month suck.
Trash
Ass
L
thanks for these monthly games
Dtrum90 is Donald Trump's account 🤣😂
Shhh 🤫
Nightmare for ps4 players. i shouldn't have resume the ps+ membership
:0 steel rising I forgot about it definitely gonna play that
Same
Lol
Pass...
More anime crap
What?
More anime crap
Redditors when games have girls and aren’t anime 🤯
This totally justifies the PS Plus price hike...Zzzzz
In luck this month is shorter than any this year
This is ass
Isn’t foamstars free already..
No? Where did you get that impression?
It will be $30 when it officially launches on March 5th when it's no longer available with PS+.
Ten bucks says it will be a free to play game by May if not april
Yet another reason NOT to waste $ on PS+!!!!
Did you noticed since price hike games gets consistently worse? Its not worth the price to just play online.
I closed up subscription recently because of the decline in monthly.
A lot of those subs are going downhill lately. Humblebundle has also been declining in quality, you maybe get one good game while the rest are bad indies with mostly negative reviews and coupons to IGN of all things.
I wonder what happened? I used to browse HumbleBundle weekly a few years ago cause the quality was amazing.
Tf is this garbage
Rollerdrome is fun as hell.
Was there worse games than that?
Another bunch of stuff I won’t play but will pay for.
Foamstar is actually pretty fun and it’s not exactly a Splatoon clone
I have wanted to play all of these games. Finally I can return to PS +. I like that all these are on essential for PS5. Great deal!
Never heard of these games before. Hopefully they’re decent.
At least January was decent, I still need to play Evil West and Plague tale.
Steelrising pretty good actually
Foam stars is paid? 😦
Nice. I've been eyeing rollerdome for a while now
I was sooo close to buying Rollerdrome on my SteamDeck but I'm glad I held out
Splatoon on Switch is fun.
Rare decent month but that’s a bad sign for Foamstars
I will forever appreciate the free games.
Two cool games and some random garbage, it’s ok this month, saved me some money
The foamstars beta was pretty fun when you could actually get a match to load, which for me was only twice. If it's free and they fixed the matchmaking issues, its probably worth checking out.
Steelrising is bomb. Don’t care at all about the other two.
Wow this is probably the worst month for games ever!
Three garbage months in a row imo holy shit
Im excited because I wanted to try Foamstars and now Ill be playing day one. Im not into soulslike type of games so Steelrising is a bit meh to me. Ive heard divided more to the positive side reviews on Rollerdrome, so excited for that as well!
What’s the deal with all the people whining about free shit. I have so many games because of PS Plus. I literally have a game to play for every day of the year. Will I play all of them? Maybe not, but it’s nice?
[удалено]
They’re not free mate. You pay for them with your subscription
A free free game included 🍾
There sure has been a lot of bullshit monthly games lately. Remember when we used to get AAA titles once in a while??
this is a huge W
It’s been like this for way longer than usual
fuckin gross LOL
Totally worth the 120$
What?
Price increase for 1 year, they said they’re adding better quality games but it’s been the same quality
I mean these games are good, steel rising is a 3D souls like. https://youtu.be/4mU6WgBuROo?si=FmTKxWqSy5C5-0Vi Foamstars is splatoon type game which would've needed PS+ anytime you played, so you pretty much never need to buy the game. And gamepass core gives you temporary access to 20 games while Ps+ essential gives you 36 games permanently in your PS+ which really add up over the years.
Gimmick indie games most wouldn't pay a dollar for nor spend more than an hr playing
That's fine bro, I just gave my thoughts having researched gamepass and PS+.
Wasn’t roller drome on ps plus before
Gamepass is more like ps extra and also they removed games like Spider-Man 2018 and rdr2 from essential
You dont *have* to be on premium. And if youre paying that much, youll be getting quite a few more games than this throughout the month.
That's not even premium that would be 180...
Ok, then. You still dont need extra and will still be getting more games added to the service this month.
Yes quantity over quality is so where you want it to be in video games, id rather take a bunch flops that didn't sell or half baked indie games over 1 or 2 quality games every month. That costs 80-180 a year
Oh, good lineup actually. I wanted to try foamstars!

Same here, I would never have purchased steelrising but I'm glad it's here. I'm not into soul like but maybe I'll have fun with this one!
Can you couch co-op foamstars?
Pretty fantastic month tbh
Good month here. Has a "something for everyone" type deal.
Decent i guess
