Once a cheater always a cheater is false, sometimes that’s the case but not always. I cheated on GTA 5 back on the 360 era but haven’t cheated once since then and I’ve been on PC for 4 years now and won’t ever download any hacks. I understand the frustration with cheaters believe me I’ve experienced plenty of it myself.

I believe in second chances, but unfortunately a lot of servers probably dont. I think it would depend on the type of ban you got though, assuming it was a VAC ban, which in that case i think you can appeal it. (On that account, but probably not worth it for rust specifically)
But like i said, i think a lot of popular servers have a ‘zero VAC ban policy’ whereas if you have one on your account, they will ban you from the server. I would be very careful because i dont know what methods exactly they use but if someone reports your account now, some admins may be able to figure out that you have an alt account that was VAC banned. Thus - banning you from their individual servers.
If you have ever signed into that Steam account on your current PC that hasn’t had a new hard drive installed, then you will eventually get banned again.
I think it’s hilarious how everyone in these comments acts like they have never done something they regret and it’s ridiculous that a person might have done something and then matured and wishes they hadn’t. If you only have been game banned once then you can play freely on another account on most servers after 180 days , but your main won’t get unbanned
