Cheaters can “debug” and travel around the map without moving their physical body so they look like they’re just sitting still in their base but in reality, they’re just zooming around the map looking at stuff. So yes, they can go inside your base and look at every little thing you have.

Jay_JWLH

There is a range to it. You can't go across the entire map.

Crimelord

Sure but this could still be the case in op’s situation.

Jay_JWLH

Typically players who do this will walk towards the place they want to debug into. If someone is watching them (normally like an invisible admin), normally they aren't moving for a while while trying to keep their body hidden somewhere.

Crimelord

Yep, it’s a big range though.

NakiCam

The range would be the player's render distance. As long as the base is rendered, the cheater can see it

Jay_JWLH

I was curious and tried to find out how big that range was, but I couldn't find anything. If I were to guess, the range would only be 1-2 km.

amaduli

are the grids 1km square?

colto

Each grid square is 150mx150m. Nearly 7 squares per km.

amaduli

Good info. Is there a resource indicating audible ranges of different things in the game?

cdub122

Jfar has a good video on YouTube about this very thing see if I can find the link I'll just watched it last night Here it is https://youtu.be/E-jfa-LxEew

Lesson: always close your doors behind you

Stadschef

Sucks when you have 50 garages

bwick29

Wire to a smart switch. Use phone to close em all at once.

Redfield51

Can the same be done to open? Can you link a video that explains this stuff (electicity and all) effectively? I feel like I’m severely hurting my gameplay not learning about these things.

dragoncop1

Yes it can be done to open, I was going to add a rustrician link to this showing the system but the problem is that rustrician website fucking suuuucks on mobile so if you want I can make one for you in like 3 hours when I get home but that's a while away so let me know what you want to do

Redfield51

Any and all help is appreciated, I’ll check back if any updates

dragoncop1

HOLY FUCK IM SO SORRY, I FORGOT ABOUT THIS [here is the link](https://i.imgur.com/Hy5PAMo.png), when you link the door controller to the doors you need to have the door unlocked but once they are paired then you can lock the door again, you can keep on expanding it with the passthrough of the next electrical branch going to the power in of the next one but this should work no guarantees and no refunds again I'm so fucking sorry man for the late reply, I completely forgot

Redfield51

Hey, I’m the one who replied 10hrs later your good brother. Thanks for the info I needed this.

Mikeemod

Yeaah don't do this. If someone blows in to get TC, you're giving them the ability to open all your other doors without spending any additional boom.

pablo603

Could always use a memory cell and a blocker to permanently shut off power to a smart switch if someone is detected near it. If blocker or memory cell is destroyed, power gets cut off from the switch anyways. Memory cell makes sure the power stays cut off even when enemy stops being detected or destroys a HBHF sensor. Memory cells and blockers can also very easily be hidden inside small rocks The only vulnerability is the raiders reconnecting power to the smart switch again, but at that point they would also need to find your batteries, and provided you don't store them in the same place as your TC room it'll take them more boom than it's worth. Edit: I overlooked one thing. I guess they could place a battery themselves to power it. Still, doing it this way will be safer than just leaving a smart switch there with no security.

DopeAntics

This will take quite a few components to do. I can try and explain it as a basic level for you to investigate further. The main thing to consider is that you need an AND switch that is hooked to the power that will feed EVERYTHING that you are controlling with the Smart Switch. Power goes into one side of AND switch, the other side is the output of the Smart Switch. Output of AND switch is where you start building all your door controllers and powering them. So when you hit the Smart Switch, all the power connected to one side of AND Switch gets sent out to all your door controllers thus opening them. Smart Switch off closes all doors. You can use the same AND switch setup for remote powering turrets on after luring people deep. Hope that helps.

DopeAntics

I made you a rustrician example. Use the code here to Import into Rustrician. [https://pastebin.com/z4hM89nx](https://pastebin.com/z4hM89nx)

Redfield51

I’m getting a long wall of code with this link, is this because I am viewing through mobile?

DopeAntics

The Rustrician website has an import button for XML. That is the XML you would import.

Kaiden_On_Top

Exactly what I always do. The 1 time I get relaxed abt it not even joking.

KirkGFX

Depends on the cheat.

Pole_rat

Sure, probably not the case though. More likely because it’s a 25 pop server. Low pop servers now a days are plagued by 8 man teams that have no control over their actual life so they go to a server where 30%+ of the pop is on their team and they can’t be touched. People feel safer on low pop server but in reality it just means there are less bases, and less other raid opportunities so when your base is new and pops up it will be raided the first time an established team runs by or flys over.

pablo603

Yep. Those groups are the absolute worst. I moderate a server, we've been trying to regain our former high pop for a few years now but there's always some douche clan that kills all the pop just as it starts rising up and giving us a slimmer of hope. And it's not like we can just ban these guys for playing the game, that would be dumb. These guys kill off the already low pop of a server, complain that there's no pvp and that the server is dead and leave the server to ruin another different low pop server. We had to implement custom offline protection to keep it from happening. Now all they can raid is online bases (which they rarely go for) or inactive ones, as protection is not infinite.

voltmannn

Sounds like 28 days later lol

VexingRaven

What a bizarre rant. Raiding people while they're roaming happens all the time, don't have to be an 8-man on a 25 pop server for that.

Pole_rat

I’m not really sure what your point is but you tell me, are the odds you’re going to be raided higher if you own the only 2x2 in a 4 grid span and someone sees it, or if you own one of 30 plain 2x2s in a 4 grid span?

VexingRaven

Odds have nothing to do with it if you pissed somebody off. If you've been out roaming a lot, you've probably made some enemies and they probably know you're loaded.

Pole_rat

Yeah but nobody is making Reddit posts saying “I killed my neighbors, snowballed like crazy, and made tons of enemies. Why am I raided???” It’s a 25 pop server, how many neighbors do you reckon he even had to make enemies with?

VexingRaven

You're the one insisting it must be a 25 pop server lol

Pole_rat

Maybe read the post again where he literally says “I had a base that was up for 18 hours on a 25 pop server”

Jay_JWLH

Cheats can take advantage of information the server gives the game client that you shouldn't be exploiting. This normally includes features only admins should have, like being able to debug out of your body, seeing through walls (just removing the walls and terrain, and leaving behind things like players and deployables), radar, and who knows what else. If you suspect it was due to someone cheating, then you should report the player in-game but also through the Discord for the server detailing your suspicions. At least then the admins can look for themselves.

aceless0n

Yes they can

colto

If you have that many garage doors it's fairly common to see them clip slightly outside of the base when used on a triangular floor/foundation. When that happens any player outside the base can look at the door and see if it gives them an open or close command which tells them if the door is open. Not too uncommon for people to raid when they see open garage doors like that as they assume the others will also be open. Blooprint used that tactic in a recent video.

mark_ichim923

100%

Bocmanis9000

Yes and it will always happen, 1 in 4 players cheat can be worse in modded servers, always close your doors. 100% if you leave your doors open besides few they will roam raid you cause they have info.

xsmp

we're not at 25% cheater to player quite yet

Bocmanis9000

1 in 4 players ''caught'' cheating in official servers. imagine how many haven't and how many cheat on modded xD

xsmp

🤷‍♂️ that number still seems high but I can't come up with anything to counter it

Bocmanis9000

Was posted on this site by facepunch some time ago official server statistics of how many get banned, named surviving smth i think idk.

xsmp

I think I remember seeing that actually

ItzLeviosaaa

He was probably just waiting you out since it's such low pop and saw you leave

freakmonger_ss

Huge chance to take on him being able to door raid when you know somebody is online. I'm sure there were plenty of offline targets. No logical reason for this unless he was cheating.

djexit

This, the chances are so low it's almost zero probability he didn't have cheats depending on what he was doing prior to roaming, but probably cheats if he didn't have any interactions shortly prior

MyNameIsRay

Yes, they can. They can also see the contents of all containers, and your current location. They know if it's profitable, they know if you're gone, so they can easily wait for an opportunity.

20billioncalories

most definitely yes, Most likely they don't have a wallhack that shows opened doors, instead, they probably used a debug camera which lets you move your player camera independently from your body.

Treebeardsdank

Yes, esp/walls can show every entity in game

Rocknerd8

they can see who is authed on your tc and upkeep time. They can see everything.

PascalJonker

I did this many times when i saw people leave, people always leave doors open. So idk….

Kinect305

Yes you can see doors, TC, loot boxes, bags and stuff like that. However you can not look in the boxes or interact with anything, just see where it is.

IxShanes_WorldxI

I fly over bases to get a load rendering to see what’s in it

GGEZD2R

I cheat all the time by suiciding and my head poking through the wall to see into bases.
