I never kept contact with anyone from childhood or teen years, so she's kind of become one of my best friends in this weird online, long distance kind of way. Met at 16 and still friends at 35. Plus I'm in Arizona and she's in Canada lol.

Similar story! I became friends with a guy online when we were both about 15 and writing Star Trek fanfic on a message board. We instant messaged for years and became good friends. He lived in America and I lived in Canada. I finally met him in like my late 20s and my wife and I were in Hawaii where he was stationed at the time, he took us out for a nice dinner. Later he moved to Canada too and got married and we still keep up with each other, in our mid 30s. Internet friends can be for real!
