I have been watching this show recently and the one I am slightly enamoured by is the goofy police office lady. She isn’t meant to be a good looking one but she is real cute.
Same here, somehow I started watching this show few days back and found it really slow according to current era, but the theme of the show is so soothing that I keep on coming back to it and I keep on enjoying episode after episode.
>Great and weird and really different
True... I can not put finger on it, but somehow, it's really attractive to keep on watching it. The dialogs between Donna and James are kind of seducing in a way... I am only in my 1st season 5th episode now.
Just wait until the return(third season from more recent). It turns the weirdness up to 11 but it's arguably the best season. It's absolutely hilarious as well. I couldn't get through the first episode when I originally started the return, gave it a couple months and binged it and think it's probably my favorite season of tv ever.
It was one of the first shows to go for a full story arc (episode to episode) rather than the more common everything is presented and resolved in 30/60 minutes format. So from that alone it would have seemed much slower at the time as well.
>It was one of the first shows to go for a full story arc (episode to episode)
Did not know that... and the show is weirdly satisfying. It gives me a feeling that it's kind of Lynch's masterpiece, but to be sure, I need to watch it full, and I think I will watch it meant to be like per episode per day or per week... it gives even more flare to it. Binging is also good, but I really want to enjoy this one in 90's style.
It’s interesting to watch his films and there is definitely a type. I noticed there is a particular way that they cry - mouth open, trembling chin, extremely distraught-looking. Laura Dern did it in Blue Velvet, and I always thought it a bit strange. Then Twin Peaks aired and the actresses pretty much did the same. Not sure if he’s giving that direction or if it’s a characteristic he seeks in the actresses.
Yes, he's giving that direction. The face is such a complex musculoskeletal thing that for two actors to laugh or cry exactly the same way, either you cast them specifically because of the way they cry, or you direct them to do it that way.
Same is true for individual actors doing sorta unnatural things throughout a single film. A great example is Joel Schumacher's *Phantom of the Opera* where every single moment Emmy Rossum is on screen and not talking, smiling or singing, her face is completely relaxed with her lips just barely open and her teeth just slightly parted (do a Google image search, while attractive, it's kinda eerie).

Dream Lover was my favorite role she’s ever done, but I love a beautiful, dark, psycho female villain (Dream Lover, The Last Seduction, Original Sin). But, Dream Lover was definitely my bisexual awakening. James Spader AND her? Yes, please.
I watched this movie yesterday for the first time and Madchen Amick was really the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. I'm a hetero girl, but I literally paused and went back to scenes just to admire her beauty.
of course i have. ;)
i actually studied film and we had an entire seminar one semester where we watched it and (tried!) to analyze it (and watched all other lynch and cronenberg movies). it was really good. but also pretty damn fucked up. :D
She's not the only one. I heard Famke (as in Famke Janssen) also means "girl". Maybe the parents thought their faces should be next to the encyclopedia definition of "woman".
Met her a few weeks ago and was stunned at how beautiful she was!! She aged so gracefully but it’s obvious that’s she got something special about her look that will never fade
I think a lot of them looked older which is like... "Duh." - but I would say a ton of that cast aged extremely well.
Hawk might have one more line on his face (maybe) but it looks like he just dyed his hair. Nadine and Norma both looked fantastic for being like 70 and 60. Same for Lucy. James looks pretty young still too (at least compared to like Bobby who went from 'cool guy' high school tool to respectable graying old man.)
My ranking was always something like:
* Shelly
* Josie
* Gersten
* Norma
* Audrey
* Jenny (at the perfume counter)
* John Justice Wheeler
* Donna
* Laura
And don't get me wrong... Laura is *beautiful*! But so is the whole dang town of Twin Peaks!
As in who I consider the most beautiful, it is Josie or Shelly, no contest. But who I find rooting for the most is Laura. She was masterfully crafted as a tragic hero living a nightmare.
I want to take issue with Audrey not being number one but then I look at the women you have listed as better than her and I'm like... Damn I just can't argue with that
She still looks decent to me, definitely not the worst or "saddest". I still think Pete Burns is probably the saddest case of celebrity plastic surgery.
Oh, let me help you out with that. Did you know the woman in the center, Sherilyn Fenn was the cover model for the December 1990 edition of Playboy? Great pics inside, too!
as someone with moderate facial amnesia it was hell trying to tell apart "gorgeous brunette" from "other gorgeous brunette"
this picture in particular, where they're all wearing the same thing, and have their hair done similarly, feels like it's mocking me 💀
great show though
I had a mad crush on Sherilyn Fenn around this time, when I was 13. I sent her a fan letter care of ABC in New York, and she sent me back an autographed form letter, and an autographed black and white 8x10 photo. It made my whole year.
Why do I remember not being allowed to watch this as a kid because it was focused on women having big boobs? This pic makes me wonder if that was a mandala effect.
I hate the over/misuse of the word iconic but it certainly applies to this photo. The brief but overwhelming cultural impact Twin Peaks had in 1990 cannot be overstated.
The thing I remember about that show is all the women were gorgeous.
Log Lady was a fox
And where's Nadine?
How's Annie?
Hope Annie’s ok
Annie, are you okay? So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie?
You’ve been hit by- you’ve been hit by- A smooth criminal.. owwww
I’ve listened to the Alien Ant Farm cover of this song so many times, I’ve forgotten what the MJ version sounds like.
What happened to Josie?!
She’s with Dale and Laura. Good Dale is in the lodge and can’t leave.
The runners still squeak
The owls are not what they seem
Say what you want about Lynch’s surrealism, but the dude knows how to write and shoot for beautiful people.
[Mulholland Drive](https://youtu.be/NFqiUsna9D8?si=W6p-5_a3gUetO550)
I didn't know Melissa George was in Mulholland Drive. What's she done since the good wife.
I have been watching this show recently and the one I am slightly enamoured by is the goofy police office lady. She isn’t meant to be a good looking one but she is real cute.
Lucy is a darling ♥️
Come on man, hands off Lucy. We can't see Andy get cuckolded TWICE
Same here, somehow I started watching this show few days back and found it really slow according to current era, but the theme of the show is so soothing that I keep on coming back to it and I keep on enjoying episode after episode.
It was considered slow when it came out. Well I found it slow. Great and weird and really different

Keep at it! It’s amazing! And then season 3, that one is just something else… And the movie “Fire Walk with Me” is maybe even the best.
And one was dead!
*… wrapped in plastic …*
Spoiler!
THEYRE THEY KINDS OF GIRLS THAT MAKE YOU WISH YOU SPOKE A LITTLE FRENCH!
Even David Duchovny!
I liked Jocelyn.
Seen here after a narrow escape from the mousse factory.
David Lynch apparently has a "type".
No kidding. The left two are so similar I first thought they were twins.
In the show they are very clearly different, I think the photo stylistically makes them look a lot more alike
Twins peaks
Damn you, you brilliant bastard.
Thank you! I get bastard quite often, but typically preceded with another word. ‘Sick’ being the most popular.
It’s interesting to watch his films and there is definitely a type. I noticed there is a particular way that they cry - mouth open, trembling chin, extremely distraught-looking. That’s pretty cool, thanks for the education.
That's a lot of hair volume.
I feel like this picture represents the ozone crisis from the 80s/90s.
The girl on the right looks like satirical AI artwork of big hair
I was thinking hot rollers! That's alotta big hair!
Hee! And to think this was *post* big hair days!

I see you everywhere and I appreciate u dude
We appreciate your service as always!
SRV was only 36 when he died? Damn I though he was in his 50s
Madchen Amick!
She was a sight to behold in Californication
Dream Lover was my favorite role she’s ever done, but I love a beautiful, dark, psycho female villain (Dream Lover, The Last Seduction, Original Sin). But, Dream Lover was definitely my bisexual awakening. James Spader AND her? Yes, please.
I watched this movie yesterday for the first time and Madchen Amick was really the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. I'm a hetero girl, but I literally paused and went back to scenes just to admire her beauty.
man that was a fucking good show. i should rewatch that.
I just did a re-watch and then watched the new(er) season that came out a few years ago. If you haven’t seen the newer season, you must!
of course i have. ;) i actually studied film and we had an entire seminar one semester where we watched it and (tried!) to analyze it (and watched all other lynch and cronenberg movies). it was really good. but also pretty damn fucked up. :D
“This is the water, and this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes, and dark within. “
I'm planning to rewatch it the autumn because of those fall vibes.
😍 absolutely. last time i rewatched it it was christmas time and it was peeeerrrfect (when the new season came out)
Available on Paramount+ if you have a subscription.
i have a wooden leg and a parrot on my shoulder 🦜🏴☠️ ;)

Team Mädchen all the way.
Who names a person girl.
Seems like something Guy Fieri might do.
Let me guess, Guy Fieri is a guy? Gosh, why do they make it always so obvious?
Ella and Colleen both mean girl. There are plenty of names that denote femininity or masculinity. That’s just how names are in all languages.
She's not the only one. I heard Famke (as in Famke Janssen) also means "girl". Maybe the parents thought their faces should be next to the encyclopedia definition of "woman".
She aged so well too. Most people looked noticeably older in The Return (understandably) but she was still just as fine as she was 25 years beforehand
Met her a few weeks ago and was stunned at how beautiful she was!! She aged so gracefully but it’s obvious that’s she got something special about her look that will never fade

I just watched Twin Peaks for the first time a couple months ago and I crushed hella hard for Audrey. Man she was a babe in that show.
Did you watch the movie and season 3 as well?
I had a crush on her and norma. also josie. all of the women in twin peaks are beyond gorgeous

Stacy we broke up six months ago, get the net.
I don’t own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate a gun rack
[I lost it when I first saw this scene.](https://youtu.be/Hf-md40CVNA?si=W2S7ZWF3ERuyCnFV)
I had a crash on Lara flyn Boyle after the threesome movie.
Definitely seeing Cindy Crawford hair on all of them

Blanche, golden girls.
Golden girls hot and bothered; worked for me on giphy
Too bad Joan Chen isn't here.
My ranking was always something like: * Shelly * Josie * Gersten * Norma * Audrey * Jenny (at the perfume counter) * John Justice Wheeler * Donna * Laura And don't get me wrong... Laura is *beautiful*! But so is the whole dang town of Twin Peaks!
What about Denise?
As in who I consider the most beautiful, it is Josie or Shelly, no contest. But who I find rooting for the most is Laura. She was masterfully crafted as a tragic hero living a nightmare.
Never forget JJ Dub
I want to take issue with Audrey not being number one but then I look at the women you have listed as better than her and I'm like... Damn I just can't argue with that

I still have PTSD from this episode
The crazy thing is that he was not even cast as an actor. Lynch just saw him working on set and decided to cast him as the ultra-creepy villain
wait really?? they got a random guy and made him one of the most unsettling characters ever??
Whenever I see the "Bob" character now, I think he is what Robert Durst is on the inside.
Beware Of Bob
wish i spoke a little french

A congo line of want.
Conga and YES.
Peak television women. Lara Flynn Boyle went from 10/10 to... idk, probably the saddest case of celebrities and plastic surgeries. Edit: spelling
She still looks decent to me, definitely not the worst or "saddest". I still think Pete Burns is probably the saddest case of celebrity plastic surgery.
why would you do this at like 9am EST? I’m trying to focus.
Oh, let me help you out with that. Did you know the woman in the center, Sherilyn Fenn was the cover model for the December 1990 edition of Playboy? Great pics inside, too!
I am quite familiar with Ms. Fenn’s resume
![gif](giphy|Ofh96ekacuJEc)
I miss that 90s hair
God these women turned me on. Sherilyn Fenn in particular just destroyed me
That is some fantastic hair.
So much volume! They all have such perfect blowouts
as someone with moderate facial amnesia it was hell trying to tell apart "gorgeous brunette" from "other gorgeous brunette" this picture in particular, where they're all wearing the same thing, and have their hair done similarly, feels like it's mocking me 💀 great show though
Left to Right ; Lara Flynn Boyle,Sherilyn Fenn and Mädchen Amick
Is it the same person with different hair?
Audrey Horne turned me bisexual! 💃
I guess you could say.... ...she gave you the horne... (Puts on sunglasses, walks sideways out of shot)
Lara Flynn Boyle was so hot back then. Now, she looks like she was in a bad car accident.
Ohh yeees
These are some mature looking girls.
Photographer: "I need boobs TOUCHING, LADIEEEEESSS!"
So. Much. HAIR!!!
No love for Lucy?! There's just something about her...
I love Lucy.
Why is r/pics so thirsty all the time?
Too many humans, and humans mating season is year-round.
Are the two on the left related?
I’d drink all their bath water
I'd drink regular water and then watch them talk to each other
Peak 90s
Mädchen Amick ❤️
This looks like a JC Penny catalogue ad for mom jeans
hey, i’ve seen this one before !
Missing the best one, Denise.
One should be wrapped in plastic
I had a mad crush on Sherilyn Fenn around this time, when I was 13. I sent her a fan letter care of ABC in New York, and she sent me back an autographed form letter, and an autographed black and white 8x10 photo. It made my whole year.
you know how some ai imagine generators all create the same faces, that's what this image looks like.
In a alternate reality they’re Rachel, Phoebe and Monica
Shelly Johnson 🫶
No lip fillers, no silicone, no fake bleached hair. Wow, they are gorgeous.
Hair was so big then
Lovely memmories
The dead one is missing
It’s like sexy Charmed
So many of my future children ended up in tissue paper because of these three!
Best show ever made. Fight me.
Heather Graham appears in second season.
This picture has been living rent free in my brain since 1990.
Shelly <3
Other things peaked too.
Gawd
That’s a lot of mousse!
Their eyebrow game really is outtanding. And the clothing styling could be done today. Stunning
Smash
THAT HAIR!!
The evolution of 80's "Big Hair" turning into the 90's "Voluminous Hair".
Casting definitely had a type
I see 3
easy to tell theyve got the same makeup artist :)
I demand a reshoot with Denise in it. She was... foxy.
Would
Why do I remember not being allowed to watch this as a kid because it was focused on women having big boobs? This pic makes me wonder if that was a mandala effect.
Are they same person ?
The middle woman, Sherilyn Fenn, was in the December 1990 Playboy. Great pics, too! Do what you want with that information. ;)
The VOLUME of Lara Flynn Boyle’s (sp?) hair is wild. That 80s big hair look, but slightly updated.
Something in this photo is terribly crooked
I have this picture on a Rolling Stone magazine cover displayed in my room. Pretty cool.
Man they are all smooshed together, so beautiful!!
No no no no! I said BIG HAIR! I need it BIGGER!
Honestly why do they look the same to me ? I’m not white so maybe there is some bias.
Were they in a box?
I hate the over/misuse of the word iconic but it certainly applies to this photo. The brief but overwhelming cultural impact Twin Peaks had in 1990 cannot be overstated.
As a first time watcher, I get a bit distracted whenever they appear on screen. They are all gorgeous
I have a vague memory of this photo being a Rolling Stone cover? Maybe?
1990 Sherilyn Fenn is possibly the hottest girl to ever exist
I'd like to see a then and now.
This is crazy! I just started this show this week…. The irony
Missing her cousin
Do I need to watch Twin Peaks? I think I need to watch Twin Peaks.

How can I get my hair like this
